    Pad Thai with tofu
    Annie R.

This was my first time eating at this spot and I will definitely come back! Food: - pad Thai with tofu: wow! I'm a pad Thai snob (bc I love this dish and not everyone makes it good at all). This is probably one of my top best pad Thai in RI! It's so delicious and the type of tamarind sauce on it and flavor balance to it was done just right. I literally ate every bit of it on my plate. Highly recommend this dish! I ordered it at a 4 out of 5 level spicy (bc I'm a spicy gal) - beef jerky with sticky rice - this was also made well. It wasn't overcooked but I would prefer it to be a bit more tender. Still good overall. - khao piak sen (noodle soup dish) my cousin ordered this and really enjoyed it. You season it to your own taste with the sauces that they bring over. Service: It was good. The staff was nice and attentive. Ambiance: It's pretty spacious for seating inside. Lots of tables and another area for private parties it looked like. There's also food parking space in the front.

I decided to try this place for lunch because of their Thai boat noodle soup. The restaurant was a cute small space in a plaza that is not hard to miss. Everything I ordered was delicious but I think the crab Rangoon could use a better and thicker wonton wrap. The Thai boat noodle soup was very rich in flavor, I even noticed the pork blood mixed in the broth which was a plus ! Servers are friendly but could be a little more attentive as I had to flag down their attention a few times. Overall I would definitely return again.

This was under new management restaurant from previous Thai restaurant. The environment was pleasant and friendly. Clean restaurant. The service was good and professional. We ordered B17 crispy noodles and A18 Loas Pho. The pho bowl was a good size (only 1 size). Weren't much noodles or meat in it. Few meatballs (definitely different from Vietnamese Pho). Broth was Flavorable and a lot of. The crispy noodles were smaller than most. The noodles were not crispy enough, enough vegetables on it. A lot of sauce. Flavor was good and just right. Overall, it was a decent place to grab a quick bite for lunch. Prices were reasonable.

We ordered sushi along with a few appetizers, and everything came out beautifully plated -- definitely a place that puts effort into presentation. The sushi itself was very good. I wouldn't say it was the absolute best I've ever had, but it's right up there with some of the better spots around. The building itself is actually really nice -- modern, clean, and well put together. My only real gripe is the atmosphere felt a little too dark because of all the bamboo shades covering the windows. I get the vibe they're going for, but honestly, North Smithfield isn't exactly Times Square... I'd rather be able to see outside than stare at covered windows. Lightening it up a bit would really improve the dining experience. Drinks were just okay -- a bit of a letdown that they don't carry Coke products, but not a dealbreaker. Overall, a great lunch spot with quality sushi, nice presentation, and a cool space -- just a couple small tweaks away from being even better. I'd definitely come back.

We were sat incredibly quickly and provided menus. As many reviews have stated, the menu items are quite expansive. You will see Chinese and Japanese food items. We ordered tea and pork gyoza for starters. We also ordered ramen. I did the spicy miso and she requested beef noodles. The server was friendly but definitely took a bit long to bring the food or check in on us. At one point we got our entree before the appetizer. She forgot to put it in. It wasn't horrible but the service could use some improvement to better tend to the customers. Wasn't anything huge to ruin the night but as a visitor from out of town, it was quite noticeable. I'd return to try their sushi or lunch specials.

The Gobbler sandwich was yummy with delicious turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. The steak and cheese sub with perfectly seasoned and yummy. The service was friendly and quick. The skipper is fried cod with extra melt sharp American cheese, lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce. This was absolutely horrendous. It was beyond obvious that the cod was pre made, battered and frozen like the kind you can buy at a grocery store but worse. Gortons brand even blows this one out of the water. This sandwich had way too much cheese and tartar sauce which leads me to the worse part of the sandwich, the tartar sauce. It was disgustingly sweet like it had been made with sweetened condensed milk. J's should never attempt a fish sandwich again, you can get much better at a fast food restaurant for half of the price. The skipper is most certainly a skipper in my book. I also had one steak and cheese eggroll at a whopping $3.49. It was actually in a spring roll wrapper so I'm not sure why they're trying to pass it off as an eggroll. It was way below average, small and mostly cheese with barely any steak. An easy waste of money. They have a big menu online but only about 1/4 of the menu is displayed at this location. They also have the world's smallest selection of Pepsi products. A good amount of Coke products though. My last visit was beyond disappointing and a big shocker coming from J's. I think I'll stay away from this place for awhile.

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Recently I became somewhat of a regular because the food and the service here is impeccable. Tonight, critically acclaimed server turned bartender Lilly, suggested that I try to Sausage and Bean Soup. Not only does she rank amongst the top three servers I have ever had in my entire life but she was 100% right about the Sausage and Bean soup. Get your car drive to Lucky Dog Tavern and all the time you're on your way there cross your fingers that the Sausage and Bean Soup is on the menu. It was beyond excellent. Just a giant mouthful of flavors expertly orchestrated. Otherwise, It's a gigantic gigantic menu but if the Sausage & Bean Soup is on the special absolutely have it. Take one home with you too. Before I forget to tell you everything on the menu is pretty excellent. But, Just for the record, I skipped over the lasagna. Have I ever lied to you!?
