Middle East Market - Bulk by weight ($11.75/lb) assorted candies. I saw a rose petal covered Turkish delight and loved it. They charged me 75¢.

Went here to get supplies to make that famous Dubai chocolate bar…read more The shop looks tiny from the outside but they really have a lot of stock inside. The family running the place was very friendly and helpful. We came here a few days after visiting Kaloo in Warwick. We bought the pistachio Dubai bar in Kahloo and they charged $14. Here at the Middle East Market they charged $9 for the same bar. Plus I feel like they more fluent in English at this store than Kaloo. You can find middle eastern home goods, spices, baked treats, drinks, sweets, international candies (found Flake bars from the UK), meal starter spice/seasoning mixes, frozen foods, and more. On the other side of the store they have smoke shop supplies and more bodega type stuff like snacks, refrigerated drinks, and other impulse buys. I can't really eat carbs anymore but a rose petal covered Turkish delight caught my eye. It was in the bulk candy section which they charge $11.75 per pound. The owner charged me 75¢ for my 1 piece and when I went home to weigh it it came out to almost the same price. All of the jars on the shelves were neatly arranged on the shelves. You could tell that they take great pride in the upkeep of the store. The shop is a little bit off the main road so it's easy in and out. Hope to visit this shop again soon!

Middle East Market - Very neatly stocked shelves. Some aisles were a bit cluttered but that only adds to the authentic charm

For international foodies, I would definitely recommend coming here to explore Portuguese,…read moreBrazilian, Latin, and Caribbean foods. There's a very reasonably priced self-serve buffet at the back. The food is authentic and made from scratch. I love the flavorful Portuguese rice, which is packed with veggies. The Homestyle beef dishes and empanadas are amazing! Unfortunately, the selection of dishes is very unpredictable. They haven't served the beef dishes I've tried in weeks. Often, the quality and selection of hot foods are poor. I was told by the workers to contact Sonia the cook to inquire about the menu. The egg custard and coconut custard pies are good, unbeatably priced at around $5. I discovered, for the first time, delicious Majarete corn pudding (made and distributed by The Family Cake Co., a local RI bakery), which is a popular dessert in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. I'm addicted to this!! The Majarete is located in the same cooler as the custard pies. I also come to this store for scallions and cilantro, which are only .69 cents per bunch. Usually very fresh. There's a dining area in the front close to the restrooms. Coffee is complimentary, though not tasty like Dave's. Sometimes there are complimentary treats at the tables, as well.

I had a bad experience last week, figured I'd give it another try. Meat is shades of green and grey. The cashier that wears winter hat and a scarf I think it's a teen boy has terrible customer service skills did not say hello, thanks, goodbye, etc. Didn't even glance my way, continued talking to his friend the bagger. Antique feel, I felt like I walked into my childhood 1970's grocery store I believe there's paneling on the walls lol
