We have learned that we cannot buy produce at Seabra unless we are going to eat it in a day or two. Any longer than that and it spoils. So I was going to the pool with friends and I picked up some grapes the same day. Fully 20% of the grapes had some black residue on them (they were red grapes so it was not easily visible in the store), and many more were completely mushy. It was embarrassing, and maddening because I was looking forward to eating some tasty grapes. I won't buy anything here that is perishable, including meats and deli, and I would caution anyone else from doing so too. read more

For international foodies, I would definitely recommend coming here to explore Portuguese, Brazilian, Latin, and Caribbean foods. There's a very reasonably priced self-serve buffet at the back. The food is authentic and made from scratch. I love the flavorful Portuguese rice, which is packed with veggies. The Homestyle beef dishes and empanadas are amazing! Unfortunately, the selection of dishes is very unpredictable. They haven't served the beef dishes I've tried in weeks. Often, the quality and selection of hot foods are poor. I was told by the workers to contact Sonia the cook to inquire about the menu. The egg custard and coconut custard pies are good, unbeatably priced at around $5. I discovered, for the first time, delicious Majarete corn pudding (made and distributed by The Family Cake Co., a local RI bakery), which is a popular dessert in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. I'm addicted to this!! The Majarete is located in the same cooler as the custard pies. I also come to this store for scallions and cilantro, which are only .69 cents per bunch. Usually very fresh. There's a dining area in the front close to the restrooms. Coffee is complimentary, though not tasty like Dave's. Sometimes there are complimentary treats at the tables, as well. read more

I love this little grocery store. I come here when I'm looking for a good deal on meat! Their prices and sales on steak are the best around and that's why I'm giving them a 4 star review. Sure they don't have all the glam of the other grocery stores in the area but your bill will be a lot cheaper! Their produce is good and often priced much cheaper than surrounding than surrounding stores as well! Another thing I love about this place is that it is never super busy! You can come here the day before Thanksgiving or any other holiday and be in and out in the matter of minutes! read more

The staff has improved a lot. Actually quite nicely. The Produce is a major problem. Fruits and Veggies are poor quality. Either over ripe or green bananas. Lemons & Limes are tiny but cost more then Stop and Shop. Most of the Produce are not fresh, over priced even if the quality was better. Deli is fine. Butchers are great, very helpful. read more

Imagine a pricerite atmosphere with stop n shop prices. Maybe even pricier. Most of the produce is going bad or outright rotting. Meat didn't look great. Prices were not impressive and even when I get their sale papers I have yet to find anything worth going out of the way for. If you do find produce with a good price, it may not be edible, like the fruit. I happened to be nearby today and thought I would stop to check it out, thinking it was a discount grocery store. Great independent grocery with a varied selection of goods. I appreciate the fact that it has a large selection of Portuguese items (nostalgia). Prices on produce and meat are pretty competitive. Their prepared lunches are a great alternative to Dave's Marketplace. The shepherd's pie and meatloaf gave me the warm fuzzies that comfort food should. read more

So I'm Brazilian born and raised. Brace yourself. This is a zero star location. I feel personally offended by this place, you guys should not and cannot call yourselves Brazilian. The French bread, which is our signature bread, is overcooked, dry and the shape isn't even right. If you guys had any "Brazil" on you you would know we invest money on bakers, be AUSE good bread doesn't Magically bake itself. The Soda section has NO Brazilian soda. The only guaraná they had was 12 pk canned Antarctica guaraná (top Brazilian guaraná brand and really the ONLY one you should ever try) . They were placed (all the 4 of them) under the produce section, I bought a 12 pk only home did I realize that was Mold growing under the cans. They weren't expired. I guess they should be placed in a humid produce section, I'm no genius but aluminum cans and water over time don't go well together. Hence the mold on the bottom of the cans. The but her place is a joke, no traditional Brazilian churrasco sausage, no fresh liver, no garlic bread, no pork ribs or any ribs for that matter. And if you don't know that we Brazilians have the best BBQ on Earth this store would help you with nothing since all the meats look old, frozen and overpriced. Another thing we known for. Mortadela. We have all of it, extra fat, BBQ, smoked, extra fat, no fart, etc... The only mortadela they sell here is the knock off international brand that is probably made in a NY backyard and sold here for $4.99 an oz!!! What a Robbery! Top price for garbage mortadela! The frozen Pao de queijo (cheese bread) is pretty good but for the almost 4 I paid off a tiny bag I felt taken advantage of. The Chocolate that I wanted to buy I couldn't find, and the others were to old and dry, so I didn't waste my time. Did I say the place is also very dirty? For the price you pay you would think you're shopping at the God damn Roche Bros with them ppl carrying your bags to the car and s.... But no, you just paying for the supposed privilege of shopping international (South American ) brands , but I can tell you that they are not here! At least not the good ones. Do yourself a favor and don't come here, don't spend your money here and please Don't associate our great Brazilian food to this trash of a supermarket. The food court looks poisonous they don't know how to store food properly or they don't care. My mother and I had a horrible experience there. We went into the store happy that there was a place to buy pastels but when we reached the counter the service clerks kept their heads down and refused to service us. For a moment I thought they just didn't notice us, but after minutes of waiting there and watching them skip over us in line and ask others what they needed we soon learned that we were in fact being purposefully ignored by the people behind the counter. Usually I do not need to bring race into anything, but we are black women and the people behind the service counters were white and they ignored us like we were irrelevant. We sat there for a while stunned that the service clerks outright ignored us and attended to customers who got there after we did when we had already been waiting to be served. My mother was in fact sick to her stomach, a 49 yr old woman who wanted to taste the food for which she was accustomed to back from Angola. We are very upset with our experience and the only thing that seems to make sense is that they ignored us because we are black. Take your business elsewhere. This market is conveniently located and could be so much more. The produce is up and down....mostly down. I see rotten fruit and veggies almost every visit. on a Sunday, I stopped in to buy bacon.....found dead flys in the meat case. I found an employee and showed them the flys and left for Dave's MKT. Went in to buy milk and almost every contained was within one week or less of expiration. On another visit I was walking by the deli and saw flys in the meat and cheese cases, the fish looked old as well. The employees are marginal at best. Smarmy, cocky and barely able to make eye contact with customers. I can't figure how anybody could give this market a good review. I should go in and take pics for the board of health. This place is simply bad news and in need of management that cares about the produce and products they sell. read more

Not the cleanest store, produce isn't so good but I can find some unusual items here including a variety of spices.

I live like two minutes from here and this is like an emergency supermarket. I'll only buy packaged items here. It's nice and quick if a need to buy something like that quick. However this market is extremely outdated and not the cleanest store. I've never seen a fresh banana in their fruits section and not sure why nobody has solved this problem. The meat also looks gross. I've also bought breaded chicken before that had a ton of mold all over (After that I'll never buy meat or anything prepared again from this place). I did have a bad experience with the staff at the deli counter copping an attitude at me in the past but they were better in the long term. Overall, there's only few things I would ever buy here (sandwich bags, coca cola, tostitos) but I just don't trust a lot of things in this store. I'm really thankful that Dave's Marketplace is nearby because there's not much of a price difference & everything's fresh. I'm not sure what it is about Seabra but it shows they haven't taken any pride in their business for awhile now. The problem is definitely upper management. Why be in a position of power if you aren't prideful in fixing your store's glaring problems? read more

Some people who have written here may be remembering before it was Seabra ... Then it was filthy, but not now. Have I found some problems, yes like any store. But the manager fixed it immediately. The store is clean, staff are great and prepared meals great. Many times I've gone in there and the manager is cleaning, great example for the staff. read more

The store in general looks dirty, and generally the non-sale prices are sky high (which is quite an acomplishment to top Stop and Shop). I lost all faith today when looking at a freezer/cooler of "frozen" meat items, and everything was mushy, definitely not frozen, and probably a health hazard for anyone to actually purchase and eat. read more
