This place far exceeded my expectations! Truly some of the best Thai food we've ever had. Between four of us, we shared Pad Thai with tofu, Massaman curry with shrimp, crab fried rice, spring rolls, and crab ragoon. All amazing. Run, don't walk. read more

Best Thai food we have ever had. We ordered a few dishes to try out of curiosity but we were also hungry. First time here and not the last one. The ambiance inside the restaurant is calming and cozy. I love their decor. It is so clean and service is excellent. When the food started to arrive we were taken back by their portion sizes because they were huge. Immediately started to eat and the food was so good. The flavor was there and the protein was well cooked and juicy. We have tried many Thai restaurants in SoCal and nothing came close to this place. We were a little sad about moving because we were afraid we weren't going to find a good Thai place but this place replaces everything we have ever had. If you are debating about eating here or ordering takeout don't! You wont regret it. read more

Very fast services. Take away is great. Large portions. Prices are very fair. Nice little place in town

More like a 3.5. To be fair, we were coming from out-of-state and this might indeed be the best Thai in area. We ordered takeout and the results were mixed. The hits were the crab rangoon, pad kee mao, panang curry. Crab rangoon was supremely crispy, sweet, a little heavy on the cream cheese. Pad kee mao is well seasoned and tastes like one I'd get at other authentic thai places (though the noodles are bit on the dry side). The panang curry also tasted familiar. The misses were the khao mok ghai, panang curry, pad ginger. Khao mok ghai was extremely dry all around (rice, veggies and chicken). The chicken was flavorless and I could believe that may have forgotten to put the seasonings on. The veggies were not soft enough for me personally and not seasoned at all. The sauce feels like a panang curry without the vegetables. The pad ginger was similarly bland. Pad thai was average (a bit dry, but not making any mistakes in the flavor that I've experienced before like too much tomato paste or too much fish sauce). read more

I've wanted to go in for a long time. My dad and I went while we waited for my son to finish music lessons. So we were short on time with just under 45 minutes to spare. Because we went at 4pm, that was not a problem. We enjoyed the beautiful and trendy decor. Our appetizers Crab Rangoon and Dumplings that came out very quick. I don't recall ever having a dumpling like how they worked it, except maybe one restaurant in Singapore. They were good and worth a try, but the Crab Rangoon are the bomb. Pad Thai with chicken was good and my dad enjoyed his dish. At the last minute I ordered my mom the seafood combo fried rice. She said it was good. Overall we liked it. My dad took a menu home so he could plot his return. Next time we will plan a dessert. They looked good. read more

Tasty food but ruined by almost no air conditioning - it got very warm, and uncomfortable (20 people = lower the temperature, as we are all giving off heat, and the room got very warm and uncomfortable) and the checkout was terrible. The waitress got all the orders confused and made us wait and wait to check out. One worker moved large crates of something close to the table. - ambiance? no! read more

Really enjoyed my dinner from Thai Princess tonight! I went out on a limb to pick up carry out on my way home from work, and stumbled upon this spot on Yelp. I had no idea this strip mall even existed, let alone this restaurant! Upon arrival, there was a special parking spot for folks picking up carry out. When I entered the restaurant, it smelled delicious. They have a nice size dining area if you prefer to dine in, and this seemed like it would be a great spot for a date. I ordered the Rad Nah Khee Mao and it was really good, but it was not at all spicy. I didn't even think to ask for medium spice because the menu indicated this had a spicy sauce. Also, this may sound strange, but the noodles had a deliciously smoky taste to them, which went really well with the vegetables. My boyfriend had the Pad Woon Sen and really enjoyed it. The shrimp were good sized with the tail on, which was a pleasant surprise. We also loved the Shrimp Wraps, which also features whole tail on shrimp, and the spring rolls. The sweet and sour sauce that was provided with the wraps and rolls was excellent, and I don't usually like that kind of sauce. All together, we felt the experience was good, and I paid about $42 for two appetizers and two entrees which seemed like a good value. read more

Kind of disappointed by our take out order. We ordered one dish Extra Hot and another Mild+ and neither had any spice at all whatsoever. The other dish was Medium, and did have the amount of spice we expected for Medium. Texture of the food was good, everything seemed fresh, flavor was decent (aside from the missing spice). We will give this place another shot someday and hopefully get the spice level we were hoping for. read more

The food was so-so.. not lots of taste/flavor. Service was not great.. we were seated at 7:15 and they closed at 9 it said on door.. food was all brought at once and 10 minutes into eating the check was brought and 5 minutes later (about 7:45) girl comes to table and says "you pay now so I can close out register?!?". They won't have to worry about us eating there again!! AVOID this place for Thai! read more

We've lived in the area for a few years, but only recently got around to trying Thai Princess. I wish we would've followed the recommendations sooner - our first experience was wonderful. The space was decorated beautifully and had a warm and soothing ambience. The staff was equally friendly and prompt. And, last but not least, the food was excellent - I highly recommend the khao mok gai. Prices were also comparable to other traditional sit-down Thai restaurants in the area. We look forward to our next visit! read more

We ordered a mango red curry and a red curry fried rice. Both dishes had no flavor and the vegetables were borderline raw. The curry was more pitiful than the fried rice as it essentially tasted like spicy water. I'd like to note it came with five pieces of tofu. The food came out in three minutes. I'd rather wait longer to get better tasting food. Friendly and no overbearing service, which I appreciated. read more

Delicious food. For appetizers, I got spring rolls. It comes with 5, and they're pretty big. Also comes with sweet chille sauce, which is very yummy with the spring rolls. Second visit and they delight me again. The service quality polite, prompt, inviting and comforting. I sat at the larger group dining table on first visit and the smaller couple table on second. It's creative that they've defined reasonable accommodations for all sized parties. The glass front adds to the ambiance of fine dining. The prices are reasonable mid range but the food is fine dining in taste, quality and presentation. On first visit I don't quite remember my dish but the portions were beyond expectations. The way things are served separately like rice and other accouterments like sauces makes for an organized dining experience. You're not overwhelmed with too many dishes either. I believe my first dish was a spicy rice dish. I remember being moody and not hungry but glad I came and dined with a lovely group of women. They delivered our 20+ person group with timeliness and simultaneously. No one waited too long. The orders and bills were accurate. The second visit was a two party date. We started on coconut chicken satay with peanut sauce, a red onion and cucumber relish and crisp crudite shredded like art but still accessible and edible. It could have been a meal within itself as the peanut sauce was so well rounded and developed in flavor it could improve any meal. My friend had the drunken noodles served beautifully and could be shared between modest appetites. Her ample vegetables were crisp littered between the well coated noodles. The sauce covered every inch of the meal. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp with a plate of heart molded rice. Sizable shrimp, fresh haricot verts, caramelized onions, a rainbow of peppers and a copious pool of sauce centered my plate. Not what I was expecting. The flavor was full and generous. The spice level was mild but I'm sure can be adjusted upon request.I ate every bite. My drink, that I shared was the Thai tea. I am lactose intolerant so ordering this is a real indulgence. Worth any consequence. Balance of tea and smooth cream, warm with chai spice. This place makes the list for regular dining to show someone a good time. I enjoy my experience. read more

Very tasty food, nice staff. Usually my go to for takeout! The dining room is very cute and cozy too

First off, let me begin with the fact that some guy was in there causing a scene and then he touched me. The police was called but honestly this wasn't even the problem I could care less. We ordered the red curry and drunken noodle off the lunch special and 10 minutes later, the waiter comes out with 2 drunken noodles. He then takes one of them back and brings us our red curry but honestly the curry was so bad it actually tasted like I was consuming straight coconut oil. Next, we get the bill and the waiter charges us wrong and accuses us of not telling him that we didn't order off the lunch menu. First off, you should know what's on your lunch menu and accusing customers is just not something that works in the service industry. He then brings back the new check and SLAMS it on our table and asks us if "we're happy". Overall, I had some hobo touch me, the waiter messed up our order and our check, and he was extremely rude. Don't come here if you want to waste your time being flustered for no overall reason. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

I ordered online via grubhub for pickup. When we arrived for pickup, they said that my order was already picked up by a delivery guy... Well, they either made a mistake and wrongly gave our order to someone else, or lost our order somehow. Considering the name we used was unique, I knew it wasn't an easy mistake to make if they had actually checked names for delivery or pickup. The lady at the front reception was extremely rude telling us it wasn't their fault if they messed up an order that was made thru grubhub because it's too busy, and they were only responsible if it was ordered through their own online portal (not sure if this was a tactic to get us to reorder from their system versus a 3rd party...). She was extremely impatient and said there was nothing she would or could do. I decided to call Grubhub to cancel the order, which they easily did after calling the restaurant and not receiving an answer. During all of this debacle, the manager came out and was very kind (a large contrast to the other lady) and offered to remake our order. Honestly I was mad and just wanted to leave. A 3rd person came out after a bit and pointed to a bag right by the front desk and asked if that was ours. ... It was. This lady could have saved us an hour and a half and cold soggy food if she just looked around her desk area and looked at the name. Yes, this took THAT LONG. (They also forgot the soup we ordered). We usually love their food and used to dine in, so food is absolutely not their problem - having a receptionist that is willing to double check her surroundings seems to be. read more

I have been here several time and this last experience was just so bad. We waited 20 minutes for our server to come around and get our order. Which was fine at first and then it went downhill from there. Our food came out very dry and we didn't see our server for another 30 minutes while they were outside moving plants around. We only were given one glass of water each and asked several times for more. When we had asked for our bill it was another 20 minutes to get that as well. Very upset with the service and food. read more

Love their food. Owner is awesome. Always get their chicken pad Thai. The Thai ice tea is great too. And the Tom yum soup, and, and, and....

I have never been a Thai fan. Every time I tried it while living in East Lansing it just wasn't for me. My in laws picked this up on one of their visits and I knew I wasn't going to like it. A good place with great people. Delicious food. I come here regularly normally just get pad Thai

Tom Yum soup is the best! Definitely a must try. My husband and I love their curries, fried rice and pad Thai.

The food is amazing and brought out so quickly. Also the service is great and the workers are so kind. I would 100% recommend this place!

Just great food and a great atmosphere. Prices are consistent with other specialty food restaurants

First time trying Thai & it was great. Staff recommended a few dishes and they were good and made quickly.

I am a huge fan of good Thai food and often eat it when I travel; I know what's authentic Thai (light, spice-balanced, full flavored, not greasy) and what's Americanized (greasy, oily dishes with huge portions). Thai Princess makes what, in my opinion, is the only authentic Thai food in the greater Lansing area. Ambiance is small but cozy and carefully designed with an interesting flower arrangement on the glass wall with LED's that change color and illuminate the water in the jars. Lunch is cheap and delicious. The spicy Tom Yum soup is fantastic, the Spring Rolls are delicate and leave very little oil residue - and most importantly, the veggies are steaming fresh and the outer crust of the roll is piping hot yet delicately thin when you bite into them. You can often see the team of cooks hand rolling the spring rolls and crab rangoons in off-peak hours on one of the far back tables. They're incredibly clean and artful even in their cooking. You really are getting fresh spring rolls. And then there's the Thai salad - which is crisp and chilled so the greens have that perfect crunch to them, and the peanut dressing has a slight kick, with real peanut crumbles tossed in, and nuanced oriental spice flavors that build and dance together as the sauce works its way through your mouth. The Pad Thai is light and fluffy, filled with many harmonious flavors (think freshly food processed tamarind, fresh citrus juice, homemade fish sauce, palm sugar, green onion, carrots, and freshly cracked egg), and a meat of your choice pan-grilled to perfection. As you eat, there is no oily residue left on your plate either. And to boot, there generous amounts of artfully posed vegetable garnishes that resemble delicate oriental flowers on the side of your plate. It's so beautifully presented that I often feel the need to take a picture. I almost feel bad eating it ... almost. Ha. In a word, for local Thai fans in EL & Okemos, Thai Princess is a treasure. read more

Mango curry is to die for. It's a little mild for my taste especially for Thai food. Still overall very good food and service

Don't be thrown off by the modern decor. Their food will wow you by its freshness and flavor impact. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is very nice and it doesn't look like your typical mom and pops Thai restaurant. Enough about the setting right, I came to eat. I started with the Apple Avocado Salad. The ingredients are very fresh along with the ripeness of the apples and more importantly the avocados. The salad is lightly dressed with their house dressing flavoring the ingredients well, but not over done. If you like either of the two main ingredients, add it to your order. Their Red Curry With Tofu and Vegetables is done very well. The star is the curry sauce with it being full with flavor and rich in its viscosity. This is not some watered down dish. It's thicker and deep with flavoring. This sauce is worth the drive from any direction in the area read more

Excellent Thai restaurant. You'd have no idea this strip mall would have an excellent restaurant with a very well done interior, comfortable seating, and an awesome waitstaff. Their lunch offerings are a real bargain. $8 something gets you an entree with meat, soup, salad, and a spring roll. I've done quite a few lunches here, done takeout, etc and I've always been pleased. It's rare for me to be so consistently happy with a restaurant, especially in Lansing. I brought friends from Chicago here, and they remarked that Thai Princess could easily compete with the Thai restaurants they frequent. The good: Cheap, excellent food. Great waitstaff. Nice decor. The bad: Seating is rather limited. Favorite dish: Pad Thai Chicken read more

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I like Thai food in general but Thai Princess is the best Thai cuisine I've experienced in my travels so far. Not for just the food, but for the ambience (especially in Lansing), the large but thoughtful menu, and the very friendly staff. From the outside Thai Princess doesn't look like much (strip mall location, small worn sign) but the interior takes you across the world and is exotic and earthy at the same time. It has a slightly upscale feel without being upscale. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and everyone had a smile on their face at all times. There was an upbeat and positive vibe in the air. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and the chicken pad spicy, level 3 as well as some a Thai iced teas (a must). There were so many intriguing options on the menu that it was difficult choosing the basic pad Thai, but I wasn't feeling as adventurous. My pad Thai smelled off putting (is that typical for pad Thai?) but tasted great! The flavors were all there, the noodles were perfect, and the chicken was very quality. The portion was large enough for left overs. My friend's pad spicy was just barely too spicy and she decided she should have gone with a level 2, but again the meal was better than average. The meals are pretty to the eye and the ingredients are memorable and fresh. Thai Princess is probably one of the best restaurants in the Lansing area. It's a great spot for guests or an intimate date. read more
