Gang ped with tofu V2. Gang Pak

A reliable Thai curry that hits the spot every time. I ordered takeout on a Thursday night and service was quick. We ordered the chicken satay, pad se ew, and tofu gang ped. My husband thought his "medium" wasn't very spicy. I liked the heat of my coconut red curry. The chicken satay is battered and fried, and came with a vinegar sauce my husband didn't care for.

Saltiest chicken this side of the Mississippi... couldn't even eat... they didn't care.

It's Thai food... Think very watery sauce, that is so salty that it's not edible. I ordered pragrapow and was so salty I could not eat it. Told server... she didn't care. Won't be back.

I ordered for delivery...the site said 40-50 minutes and it took 2 hours. The pad Thai was just ok. I also ordered crab Rangoon and ended up with whatever is pictured--I couldn't even tell what it was made of; it was rubbery and gross. This order was almost $50 for just those two items. Definitely not worth it.

My boyfriend and I have driven by the Bangkok House so many times and finally stopped to give it a try. We really enjoyed experience and the customer service was great. I ordered the traditional peanut pad Thai and he tried something different but we cannot remember the name of it. My only gripe was a few egg shells made it into my dish, but other than that it was pretty good. We especially enjoyed the spicy fried rice and appetizers. The spring rolls were delicious and the chicken skewers came over hot coals/fire to warm them up/sauté them. We'll probably try this spot again but will most likely order carry out instead of dining in.

Low key - This place slipped my radar several times as I pass by the joint regularly when I visit my friend who lives less than a quarter mile east. The dining area reminds me of typical economy asian restaurants/diners. A slew of tables with not many people around. The service seemed like family owned. Very casual and heavily accented. Very friendly as well. The menu was grand and someone like me, who wants to try everything, was overwhelmed but I settled on something that my tastebuds could handle. The intro was a broth soup with onions and a dumpling or two. I apologize for not knowing the name. The soup could have been my meal, it was perfect and soothing. I'll be back here mid winter. My main course was medium heat. Of course I don't remember the name of the dish, but I do remember the heat and flavor. Thai food, GOOD thai food has both. I had to take it slow and steady. My friend had the well known pad thai at low heat. The taste was a sweet spice and I spent more time digging my fork into his plate than my own. I used his dish to settle the heat. Servings were plentiful, I took my dish home, this was recommended because my host noted the heat would simmer after reheating and the flavors blending. It did but it was still fire. The rice wasn't my favorite, I like a stickier variety but it did the job. Oh and their Thai Tea one of the best out there, I've only had about 4 but this one takes number 1.

A very tasty meal, I had to go with my 'no fail dish' Pad Thai. Ordered Hot and it could have had more bite. I recommend getting the spice rack so you can kick it up. Dinner came with Sweet & Sour soup. Ordered an appetizer, Giew Tod, minced chicken in a won-ton wrapper then deep fried.

The soup selection (unsurprisingly enough) is definitely the most interesting, and they have six soups that rotate daily, which I love, since I hate getting the same old unless it's the ultimate comfort food. They also let you sample soups, which I don't think I've ever experienced, but I'm such a fan. I've sampled the tomato bisque so far, which is solid, and actually had orders of the lobster bisque and the New England clam chowder. The soups come with an order of bread - French or multigrain - and all the soups I've had are good. I probably won't dream of these soups (or any of their other foods) but that's okay. I've also had their chicken toscana sandwich, which was good. Seems like all their food has a good threshold of quality, and the value is pretty fair. I've also tried the cranberry almond sonoma salad - a half salad is a healthy portion, and I like their ability to mix and match soups, salads, and sandwiches for a nice variety. Zoup! knows its model and is doing it well. I also like that they have the nutritional value of all their foods online, and in person, which is helpful for anyone who wants to be more health-conscious.

For me, it's far and away a bite of an olive burger. That combination of charbroiled burger and olive sauce does it for me every time. This month I was elated we got to review one of the originators. Weston's Kewpee Burger is a Lansing institution. There's little disputing that. Situated downtown on Washington Square and using a recipe for olive sauce that is older than 95 years, the restaurant is nostalgic in all the right ways. The décor is unapologetic in referencing their history and with good reason. Serving comfort food with quality service to downtown's current movers and shakers and former residents who have returned and want an instant reminder of home is something they should be proud of. In pre-pandemic times, it wasn't unusual for a line out the door during the lunch time rush. During the pandemic, Weston's ownership was among the most compassionate with their staff and worked hard to keep the business open even as much of their traditional foot traffic has yet to return. However, you can tell the folks that work here enjoy not just one another but making great food for their customers. Essential During my visits to Weston's this month, I cheerfully tried the Kolossal Olive Burger. Appropriately named as this sandwich is massive, the burger perfectly cooked, and topped with a heaping serving of olive sauce (Chopped, not minced) just the way I like it. There are several local establishments that offer an olive burger and even a few national chains that attempt to offer local flavor. Few of them compared to this tried-and-true version. As I stood in line, there were two gentlemen from south of Jackson who were in town exploring the Capital City. They both ordered olive burgers and as I walked out, I asked them how it was. "It doesn't matter much what else we find today; this burger was worth the drive." Indeed. Comfort Classics My culinary comrades and I sampled several other items off the menu. The Turkey Burger was juicy, surprisingly flavorful, and delightfully crispy- which is atypical of most turkey burgers. The onion rings were solid, but not as good as the sweet potato fries or the regular French fries. Both are seasoned brilliantly- brown sugar on the sweet potato and a light dusting of Greek seasoning on the regular. The chili was hearty and balanced- not too many beans or tomatoes or not enough meat and welcomed on a chilly January afternoon. The restaurant also offers several traditional daily specials- meatloaf and mashed potatoes, bean and ham soup, pot roast, tuna pasta salad, or mac & cheese, all depending on the day. I was fortunate to be in on a day that the goulash was available. Packed with herbs, tomatoes, and ground beef, huddled up with macaroni spirals and served with garlic Texas toast, it was an absolute hit and I had to arm wrestle others in my house for the leftovers. Award Winning The Weston Kewpee Burger team were recently awarded the judges award for their olive burger at a competition on South Beach, Miami. In honor of that recognition, the restaurant now offers a Miami burger- a crumbled burger with a cheesy olive sauce. This olive burger 2.0 is my new favorite in town. It differs from the traditional olive burger in yummy, savory ways. The brininess of the olive sauce somehow works even better in this iteration and the crunchy, flavorful crumbles are a wonderful twist. The best innovations are rooted in tradition.
