This is hands-down the best Thai food you can get anywhere! I absolutely love this place!

Quick quality lunch meals. The price can't be beat for these quality meals. You get your dish, rice, those amazing egg rolls and a drink. Yes do try. I can agree with other patrons that the seasoning is lacking but the demo is not that ethnic and likely prefers blander dishes. It's not bland it's just not spicy. I enjoy it and feel it's well worth my money. I leave full but often order more of the rolls out of gluttony. They are fried crispy and the veggies are still full of spice and juicy. The sweet sauce is the right fit for it. The veggies in your dish, along with bamboo shoots will always be crunchy but hot, not limp or overcooked. The sauces always coat everything and are good to the last drop with the last piece of rice. The rice is often to the side but the meat, veggies and sauce are blended. Noodles will be well coated as well. I wouldn't say this is the best Thai but it has little competition in this area and I prefer it over much of the American fare around. I enjoy the plentiful meat in my dishes that are seasoned and throughout my meal not just a small pile on the side. I like my meat throughout this dish as it absorbs the flavor of the sauce better. The menu goes beyond the lunches and provides many options for the picky or allergic eater. My critiques are the limited hours and payment options. This is an ideal late night spot but it's not open late. Also they only take cash and while I know to bring it, it's not always convenient.

Love Thai food! I'm not from Lansing so whenever I'm there I try something different. I searched Thai food and this was in the general direction I had to go back towards home. Ordered over the phone and when I got there to pick it up there was a small line outside. I got in line and the guy in front of me acknowledged me so I responded with this place must be good if there's a line. He was like oh!, you've never been here before? He took me to the window and said you have got to try this and this and you have to order it this way. Well I had already ordered but since q regular had made thus suggestion I had to roll with it. When I got in and paid for my first meal I ordered a second the way the gentleman in front of me suggested. I live approximately 150 miles away.... so when I got in the truck I took a bite of what I had originally ordered and was more than pleased (Pad Thai, medium spice, chicken) then I opened and tried the suggested meal. I took one bite and closed the box and put it in the back seat so that I wouldn't be tempted to devour it. (Garlic chicken, double meat). Got it home and handed it to the wife where she decided she wasn't going to share! I look forward to ordering the second dish that was suggested the next time I get down there.

I have had Thai food all over this area but I think this place is the best. Cheap, incredibly fresh, and really tasty. My belly is happy and my mouth is burning with delightful pain! And I am no masochist! Had the pad kra pao (SPICY!) and the pa nang kai and both were awesome. Definitely worth the wait and tight hours. Do yourself a favor and come! Just be sure you bring cash as that is all they accept.

The Best Pad Thai, in my opinion. Always fresh ingredients. I usually call ahead. A simple restaurant concept but it works!

Food-wise, our apps were crab Rangoon and steamed chicken dumplings. Both were delicious. The crab rangoons were sufficiently filled with the cream cheese mixture and were crispy. The chicken dumplings were stuffed with ground chicken and mushrooms and were well cooked. For our main, we got the pad Thai curry noodle and the drunken noodles. Our friends enjoyed the drunken noodles while the pad Thai, even though we specified mild twice, was spicy enough. We then ordered a side of white rice to make it palatable. We also ordered dessert because of the spiciness of the main, and got the mango sticky rice and the fried bananas with ice cream. Both were good but I'd probably order something other than the mango sticky rice next time. One star off due to the service. Our waitress was very short with us. When we emphasized wanting the food to be mild, her response was a stern "I got it. That's how we'll make it." even though that wasn't the case, when we said we'll order the mains after we were meet with a huff and asked to hurry up and order the mains along with the apps because the kitchen was very busy that night, after noticing the pad Thai curry noodle was spicy, we thought of ordering a fried rice to manage the spice and her response was frowning to say that it would just take too long now and so we settled on white rice, and after that point we could barely hail her down even though she walked back and forth multiple times. It was like she was annoyed we were dining there! Overall, great ambiance and good food.

It was just the three, but we were charged an automatic gratuity, which I thought was usually only added for larger groups (like six or more). The server handed us the payment device directly instead of bringing the bill with a pen like they normally do, so we didn't carefully review the charges. We ended up paying the total and adding a tip, not realizing gratuity had already been included. We only noticed it after the payment went through. I really wish the server had mentioned that gratuity was already added. If we had known, we would have questioned it before paying. It honestly left a bad feeling, and now I'll probably think twice before coming back.

Deceptive Businesses Practices. Not to be trusted!!…read more I was really craving some good Thai food, so I walked 15 minutes from my hotel to this business for a takeout order. I ordered the gang musmun. When the lady rang me up, the order total seemed high. When she handed me the receipt to sign, it was an even higher price than what she had just stated a moment earlier. I asked her about it, and she told me I had been charged a dollar for the takeout containers. Nowhere on any sign or on the menu does it state there is a charge for takeout containers. I'm pretty sure she was just padding my bill to benefit her business. Outrageous!! After walking so far, and still having to walk back, I just decided to pay the bogus charge since I was tired and hungry. As for the food, it was disappointing. Watery and too heavily seasoned with fish sauce. It tasted like bland heavily salted water. Very disappointing as I've had some amazing curries in my life and know good Thai food. This was not good Thai food. Not even close. I can't judge an entire restaurant based on one dish, but I can tell you, based on this one dish I would definitely not return. That's apart from the bogus extra charge to my bill. As for the restaurant itself. It was dingy, run down and not clean. The menu I was handed to look over was filthy and sticky. I used hand sanitizer after touching it. So gross. Very disappointing experience. I am in Lansing frequently for work and will never return to Bangkok House. If you are in the area looking for Thai food, there are two other restaurants within walking distance, I'd try one of those first if I were you.

End of May will be your last opportunity for an unknown time. We splurged since it might the last time. We stared with the appetizer sampler and it was all delicious. All of it was fresh and delicious. Crispy crab rangoons, moist chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, egg rolls with chicken and some meat rangoon. All complemented with three different sauces with one being a sweet peanut butter sauce. Yum! The Red Pad Thai is amazing as usual. The fresh topping with the flavors from the noodles and sauce go so well together. The peanut curry with chicken were flavored with just the right amount of peanut flavor and spice! I substituted the white rice with their fried rice for an additional $3, but it was sooo worth it! Normally it was only an additional $2 but eggs, enough said. The service was pleasant as usual and never did we need anything. The place hasn't changed much over the last 10 years but you don't have to when your food speaks for itself.
