Everything came neatly packaged, but there were no utensils :( The shrimp spring rolls were good, but I wish there was more shrimp. The peanut sauce is a must have! The tofu pad thai had a strange pink tinge, but tasted fine. The noodles were a bit over cooked and there weren't many veggies. It came with a lemon instead of lime. The mango sticky rice was mildly sweet, which I like. I wish there was stronger coconut flavor or sauce to go with instead of it being just rice and mango on top. read more

Currently they are only offering delivery and takeout. I called in a take it order and it was ready in 5 mins! They have a window right inside where you can pay and pickup your food so there is very little interaction with staff or other customers. I ordered the vegetable pad thai and it was absolutely delicious. It included large chunks of onions, green beans and carrots. I finally took the time to try Thai Pattaya, which I have been wanting to do for years. The problem is, when you find one or two really good places, it's hard to go anywhere else. But I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger tonight. I will say however, that I ordered to go instead of eating there because it was late and I wanted to get home and relax after a long day. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed as I was hoping to be. First, I was disappointed with the portion of the Thai Beef salad - it was puny. Second, the flavor just wasn't there for me. The beef salad was quite bland, the peanut sauce for the chicken satay had little peanut flavor and tasted watered down, and the Tom Kha Soup had a weak flavor too. I really hate to give anyone a 3 star rating, but I also hate wasting money on subpar tasting food. I wish this place great success, but I think I'll stick with the two or three places I frequent from now on. read more

Service was good. Waiter was struggling with another table so non attentive. I am a Massamun Cury snob just to put that out there. It was just ok. Not spicy even though I asked for a 4 star which is one shy of hottest. It was missing something in the flavor and texture. I am thinking coconut milk. It would have been tastier and thicker. Rice was a nice jasmine which did help the cury with a little more flavor. The started with a soup which was fantastic. Full of flavor, veggies and flavor. About half way through my cury an egg roll showed up. It was not served with any sauce, and the table had nothing. It was unremarkable in flavor. It alshould have been served after the soup or with it. I might try this place again. See if they improve on flavor. Time was around 11:30 only two tables with people. The most beautiful bowl of Pho I've ever been served (see photos). Carrots, peppers, onions & a sprinkle of ground peanuts on top (of course you can order without & they do ask while ordering whether you want everything that it comes with). I also appreciate that they strip their chicken/beef into sections so that it's not just one or two big chunks. They don't serve sake, which is a con for me but they do have a beer selection. Service was great, fast & friendly. The location is a little obscure - I've lived in Mboro for years & never knew this was here until recently. Yes they have moved because their old location was too small. The menu is the same and so is the friendly service. They are in the same strip mall as Toots and Olympus Gym (original location). I like a few dishes and there are others that I don't care for. I think this is the same for all restaurants I patronize. So, I got a delivery order for wonton soup, fried tofu and chicken fried rice. The fried tofu was so yummy and cooked perfectly; I popped the tasty little squares in my mouth like popcorn! The chicken fried rice was flavored well, just the right amount of spicy heat, but--there were many more huge pieces of onion than there were chicken pieces, like a ratio of 1 chicken piece per 4 huge onion wedges. The wonton soup needed salt and the wonton itself was...slimy?...which I thought was weird and I couldn't get past the texture. read more

I stopped for lunch during the week. There were maybe ten other people in the restaurant too. I ordered the pad Thai lunch special. It took 20-25 minutes since there was one server and one cook. The restaurant is neat and clean and service was friendly. The food was not good, they got my order wrong and it was too expensive for what I got. Soup, main course and two beverages was $36. For that price, I would expect higher quality. I've never had Tom Yum soup like this before. It was brown water with little flavor except the hot and sour. It was devoid of traditional ingredient flavors of lemongrass, ginger, garlic or onions. I never noticed the kaffir leaves they touted in the menu. About 8 mushrooms (too many, if you ask me) swam on top of the broth. The shrimp were rubbery and they left the tail fins on. (I understand this is good for main courses, but is confusing to eat with a spoon. You have to pick the shrimp up in your fingers to eat it. I specifically ordered the soup and main course "native", the hottest spice on the menu. What I got was just a tick over mild. My main course was Salmon Panang. I did not get salmon. I was going to rate the place with 2 or 3 stars, but when you do not serve what you say the dish is, that is a major error. The fish was some whitefish and clearly was not salmon. I even researched salmon in my home library of cookbooks and no where could I find a white fleshed salmon. It was slightly overcooked. Panang is a simple dish, and this was a disappointment. Instead of a nice blend of Panang curry and coconut milk, I got a brown nondescript sauce and SHREDDED COCONUT. There was really no other flavor. There was no taste of kaffir leaves, but the cilantro (not traditional) screamed at me. I stopped after church and was one of three diners. There were two other take out orders. We actually got someone else's order (no fault of the restaurant but with UberEats) so I got to try stuff I wouldn't normally order. From beginning to end Thai Pattaya gave a great lunch experience. The Host/Waitor was extremely friendly, attentive and great at recommendations. The food which all came out FRESH and in a timely fashion was delicious. My spouse and I enjoyed veggies gyoza, appetizer sampler, veggie drunken noodles and duck drunken noodles. They were willing to make any necessary substitutions and cooked everything perfectly to our liking. The ambiance of this building is very... confusing. It feels like they went to a restaurant auction and choose from multiple random restaurants. Also the space itself it odd, the floor shakes when someone walks by. But the thing that really matters, the food. The vegetables were very fresh, perfectly cooked. The red curry is the best in the boro! They pack flavor in every dish and we are addicted to eating here! They run good coupons sometimes too. My husband likes the drunken rice, my kids like the won ton soup and we all like the egg rolls. It's spicy at level 1 for me. Hubby loves spicy and only gets level 2 so beware! I am so hopeful and forgiving when it comes to food and restaurants. And I hate giving bad reviews, but today was my last ditch effort to like Thai Pattaya. I want to like it, I really do. It's one of the few places I can walk to on my lunch break. But today, I had the most disappointing bowl of pho I've ever eaten. I've tried several other items. The rama was a congealed glop, nearly too thick to consume. The tom kha was watery, and the green curry had 4 huge chunks of vegetable in it. 1 of each. Is it too much trouble to cut a pepper into pieces smaller than 1/4 of the whole thing? And the flavor. Meh. I thought, well, the pho will be the deciding dish. It's a Thai restaurant. Pho is usually the dish to be proud of. Their beef pho only has the sliced beef. No meatballs, or tendon or tripe. I know that grosses some people out, but it's traditional, right? Maybe it's aimed at an American palette. Makes sense, being in America and all. And besides that, it was just... meh. Noodles and broth. Big whoop. And now that the food has disappointed, I guess I might as well say that the ambiance is less than delightful, too. I hate to say so. Seems like a low blow. But forgivable if the food is out of this world. I'll eat in somebody's dirty kitchen and forgive them if the meal is exceptional. This place is cavernous and weird with soaps on the tv at lunch time. But standard for Middle TN, I guess. So, if you prefer considerate plating, carefully cut vegetables, complex flavors, more spice, cozy surroundings, this might not be the place for you. But if you think people with opinions like me are snobs, then please, by all means, try it for yourself. Obviously some people love it! Just not me. We ordered by Uber Eats and came to pick up, they said someone was take it and told us they will make the order in 7 minutes. We came back but they refused to make the order again.
