Really surprisingly good Thai out in the East Oregon High Desert. Fresh veggies that snap. Excellent Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and Drunken Noodles. Generous portions of Thai Iced Tea and Coffee (I hate when a place gives you so little for $2 and no refill). Ask for spice - they assume you are a weak-tongued Oregonian and won't give you the good spicy stuff unless you ask for it :) read more

It's the only Thai food in Redmond Oregon. It's good but doesn't blow you tastebuds away. The set up is very cafeteria I have been there twice and they have been out of Tsingtao both times. The service is average and food comes out quickly. read more

Being from the SF area of California, we have had the chance to experience some sensational Thai food, but even in an area where there are a lot of folks from Thailand and a lot of restaurants there is also a lot of really bad or mediocre Thai. This place doesn't have a lot of warmth or charm, but I am rarely looking for that in a neighborhood place, especially in the middle of Oregon. What they did have was some very tasty, solid Thai food, the service was friendly and efficient, and it was a very good value. We started with the crab wonton, which were very crispy, but didn't have much of a cream cheese flavor that we are used to, had the drunken noodles and red curry - both very tasty, and garlic pepper stir fry, which was also good. The three of us ate our fill and still had plenty of leftovers. We left sated and smiling. The way you should always leave a good restaurant. read more

I was in town for work and Thai O was recommended to me by the hotel I was staying at and it was AMAZING!! Really great Panang curry give you plenty of rice and the veggies are cooked really nicely not chewy!! Highly recommend! read more

The beef pad thai was SO flavorful and really delicious! The Thai Iced Coffee was delicious as well.

Great little Thai place in Redmond. I've been here on a number of occasions all with good experiences. The last time our waitress was a little old Asian lady. It made the visit that much more authentic. Check them out, you will be glad you did. read more

I tried Thai O on their first day. The staff was very nervous having new restaurant jitters and acting really confused trying to translate and interpret the orders with the kitchen. I never saw a single smile out of any of the staff. The check came 2 seconds after the meal.... (wrong). The food was very good though and Redmond has been long overdue for a Thai restaurant. Hopefully they can work out the butterflys. I had the #1 off the lunch menu. (Cashew Nut Chicken Delight) excellent flavor and perfectly cooked rice. Enjoyed dinner here 2/17/2013. It's clean and the servers are responsive. My wife and I ordered spring rolls, tom yum soup (w/ shrimp and tofu), and panang curry w/ shrimp. The food was fresh but a bit bland. There was definitely no thai basil in the spring rolls and spring rolls without thai basil are like hamburgers without mayo, ketchup, or mustard. The texture was nice and the peanut sauce was tasty but I would highly recommend to the owners that they start using some thai curry. The Tom Yum soup had the solid sour flavor that comes from the keffer leaf but didn't pick up any lemon grass or thai basil flavor there. Still tasty though. The curry was tasty but it just seemed like the cook hurried the dish. The green beans were lighlty sauted or grilled and crunchy but just kind of tossed on top of the rest of the ingredients with no attempt to really incorporate it all into a coherent dish. This place has potential but the guys in the kitchen need to spend some time honing their skills. read more

Ordered combo appetizer which apparently was leftover from lunch or even previous day. It was all dry and tasteless. Pad kee mao was gloppy and the chicken was dry. . Basil stir fry had almost no basil. Very disappointed in this restaurant. read more

This was my first time experience with this place. Me and my gf went on a date here yesterday July 20th 2019 around 6pm. We had an amazing experience. APPETIZERS. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp and calamari. Both came with a spicy chili sauce wich was out of this world. . THE MAIN DISH. me and my gf got the red peanut sauce curry. I got mine with beef and my gf had shrimp. It was so good it reminded me of home. My step dad can make some mean curry but this was so much better then his lol dont tell him. Anyways this place is amazing but only thing I would change is that they should take away the one refill for a pop or drink. But other then that this place is amazing. read more

Food was really good, lemongrass pad tai and Penang curry was delish and recommended. We had mango sticky rice, the rice was unique with sesame seeds, mango was tart less than ripe. Otherwise this would have been a five star (and waiter didn't laugh at my joke). read more

I created a Yelp account to write this review. I have eaten here around a dozen times over the last two years. The food is decent and the prices are fair. The problem I keep having here is the unreliable service. Tonight was another example of why I always think twice about going here. We called in an order and were told 15mins. When we arrived 20mins later to find that our food had been given away to someone else. We got a quick apology that was so fast I wasn't sure if the waiter was joking or not about giving away our order. He followed it up by handing me the bill for the food that wasn't there anymore. We had to wait an extra 15mins for the food to come out and were not offered a drink during our wait or even a sincere apology for the situation. Other issues I have run into are calling during business hours and having no one answer. I called 5 times within an hour once and no answer. Another time we were told a 20min pickup time and when we got there over 20mins later it took another 30mins for our food to come out. Again, no real apology or effort to make it right. If this wasn't the only Thai food place in Redmond we would have stopped coming much sooner. I think now we will spend the extra gas money to go to Bend, because at least we can count on the food being ready at the specified time and it still being there when we arrive. read more

MMM. Get the pad thai if you like that dish at other places - it is particularly good here. Good service and good food. I also like their fried rice. They lose one star from me because the price is a bit high, I think, and if you ask for substitutions on food items, they will give a 1-2$ uncharge on it, so the price can add up pretty quickly. That's okay for me if I am going for a special celebration, and not on the regular. But I usually like to stop and get thai as a comfort food on a semi-regular basis, and this place is too pricey for me to do that. Would recommend if you are okay with the price range, though. This is the best Thai food in Redmond! Granted, there aren't a lot of options here. I work nearby so I eat here for lunch quite often. On Mondays, they have a $5 chicken or tofu Pad Thai special. Their curries are pretty good and usually have a nice little kick of spice. read more

I think this is the only Thai place in town. I was not surprised to see the prices higher than most Thai places I frequent. That seems to be the trend up here in Central Oregon, especially Redmond. Everything is much more expensive than the big city. I had the Drunken Noodle the first time, and I was not impressed. It didn't taste like any dish I have had, and not in a good way. I decided never again would I eat there. But then I did. I figured maybe that first dish wasn't great but maybe I'll give them a second chance. I was just leaving a nearby business and it was late afternoon, and I noticed they had a lunch special sign. I hadn't eaten and I was starving, so I popped in and there was nobody to be found. I said "HELLO?" like 3 times and I checked the sign for their hours again, and then my watch. It's supposed to be open and having their lunch special. Finally a guy comes out and tells me they are closed, and I said oh okay, your sign says you're open til 3:00, and he interrupted me and said "we close early if it's slow and if you want you can get something to go" so I look at the menu and order 2 things. Tom Kha soup and pineapple fried rice. "The only reason I let you in and order is because I'm waiting for someone to pick up a to-go order" Ok, so last I checked that's kind of rude, and not really a great thing to say if you're trying to deliver friendly customer service. Whatever, just keep that in my mind for next time I am tempted to return. The food was really expensive for the serving size is the first thing. I don't think I've been to a place that the servings are that small, as far as Thai food goes. The soup had a very strange flavor that I haven't tasted in other similar soups. I have had Thai all over the world, and it's my favorite cuisine. It just wasn't doing it for me. The pineapple fried rice was actually kinda tasty but very dry and seemed like day-old rice under a heat lamp was used. Nope. Would not recommend. I would rather drive to anywhere else. They really need to step up their food quality, increase the portion sizes, and actually have friendly employees and policies. read more

Went to Thai O for lunch.When you walk in it says seat yourself. We sat to the right when you walk into the restaurant in a corner both. We waited about 10 minutes for the waiter and finally moved the front of the restaurant where we could be seen by the waiter. About 5 minutes later the waiter finally arrived. I have never written about seating in any restaurants. BUT, the booths you sit in are the most uncomfortable seating I have ever sat on. In the middle of the seat is a wood framed bar that makes you sit where you can only sit in an area where you sink into your seat. Not very comfortable. The food is fairly good .We had the Garlic Pepper Stir Fried with Chicken. Chicken was over cooked but plenty of veggies. We also had the Pad Kee Mao. It is similar to Pad See Ew but it had more veggies. There are not many options for Thai in Redmond. We would go back when we are in the mood for Thai but Bend has more options. read more

I went a bit early today, 4:45pm, for dinner. A few were seated but it wasn't busy yet. This is my first visit as a new local. I ordered fresh spring rolls and green curry. The service was prompt, curteous, and professional. I am no expert but I know what I like and this was incredibly good. The curry had two peppers on the menu for hot, and the heat was spot on. Not fire breathing and not mild, just perfect. The springs rolls were outstanding. The atmosphere was good, an MLB game on the big TV at the bar, and smooth music at a low level throughout the seating area. I will be back - often. Recommended. read more

Love this place. I love the coconut curry. If you're going for lunch try to get in before noon as it tends to get busy around lunch.

The food had a lot of flavor and was very delicious! I love this place for take out or to grab dinner before going to yoga at Namaspa in the same plaza. Their chicken or tofu pad thai is fresh and tasty. I usually get their pad see ew and it's so filling I have an extra serving for lunch the next day. Note: they only have beer and wine so no fun cocktails. However, I usually do take out. Was out here a few weeks for work. Normally I would rate this place 3.5 or 4 stars, but since this place is in Central Oregon (Redmond/Prineville) where variety and food choices other than American are pretty pathetic, I'm giving it 5 stars. For dinner I thought the curries, pad thai, and tom yom soup all tasted good but it could have been due to the face that I had 2 weeks of pizza, burgers, sandwiches, steaks and salty, sauce-drenched Americanized Chinese food. Curry portions were average but the pad thai, fried rice and other dish amounts were pretty huge. I'm just sorry that my co-workers and I didn't find this place sooner while we were there. read more

I write this review with a grain of salt. I am a fan because this might be the only Thai restaurant in Redmond, OR. We were staying at the Eagle Crest Lodge and needed take out to satify a broad range of tastes and this place fit the bill. Everything was tasty, the servings were decent portions and like another reviewer mentioned, the papaya salad is spot on. The spicy is indeed spicy. I can't speak for the ambiance since we only did take out, but this is a restaurant that shines in a desert of Americana. Or something like that. read more

This place was really incredible. I got the spring rolls, and the pa nang curry. The spring rolls were full of fresh delicious vegetables, and they were delivered with perfect peanut sauce. I asked for the pa nang to be spicy and they really delivered. I would definitely come back again if I wasn't just visiting the area. read more

Simply fantastic Thai food. Well versed in Thai food, have spent lot of time throughout Thailand, and had the best in Seattle and Portland. Gracious owner Jip prepare excellent dishes, although less adventurous than some northern Thai restaurants. Take out almost weekly, . Moving into the area we were in search for a nearby Thai restaurant. We happened to be at the Fred Meyers and drove around to see what else was there. This lovely restaurant is tucked back behind FMeyers and the big Lowes... although it's in a terrible location for a restaurant OMG!!! We were seated right away, service was excellent and we can't say enough about the food! Fresh, clean, delightful! We will go back again and again. We so hope they stay in business but do think a better location would result in higher clientele for them. read more
