Prose: The atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly. The food was spot on. The peppered beef was tender, properly seasoned, and the vegetables were gently cooked. My curry full of seasoning. I asked for 1.5 spoonful of spice and it was enough to cause the sweats. The white sticky rice on both dishes was steamed to perfection. The portions were more than adequate, and the price was decent. Cons: they are really are no negatives that I can comment other than the limited seating which others have noted. Bottom line: I would definitely eat at this establishment again and be tempted to try some more of their unfamiliar exotic dishes. read more

Very disappointing. A $15 dish of mushrooms and bok chay looked like vegetable waste in off-coloured slosh, the veggies were chopped so small/thin and the mushrooms were almost non existent. Pad Thai and Lo Mien had decent noodles but the amount of vegetables, of which were overcooked and dumped on top, were so minimal it was an insult to call this anything but a random pasta The "chief" should be ashamed the quality at these $$ prices. Menu looks great, there are a ton of options that look really appealing to me. I would have to visit 15 times to give a better opinion. That said, I got the beef udon stir fry and despite the picture out front of the restaurant and in the menu, it was NOT as advertised/pictured. The place has a lot of positives, so I don't want to be negative Nancy here.. but I was disappointed that my dish was 90% noodles, maybe 6% veggies, and 4% at best beef. If you saw the menu or advertising picture you'd understand why this is a let down. I can get that loading on the protein is exaggerated in pictures but even the veggies? There wasn't more than 2-3 laser shaved pieces of beef in the "beef udon". I not a carb phobe but I do want a balance of veggies, protein, carbs. This dish was not as presented. Other attendees seemed to have better luck. The place is clean, neat, organized... I'd give another chance but no too impressed. read more

We had a great dinner here as we were passing through Fredericton. Clean friendly spot. We had the Pad Thai & Pepper Beef. Very flavorful & we'll presented. They had a great selection of quality loose leaf tea as well. We will repeat. read more

Definitely not a fan, the staff was friendly but the food was pretty poor. I got the pad Thai and it was far worse then a simple Thai Express meal.. I could barely eat it and felt sick after. This place was excellent. The service was great and the food even better! Spicy but not overwhelming. Prices are reasonable as well. We shared the chicken skewer appetizer and it was delicious. The only suggestion I would make is add something as dessert. read more

This restaurant features a variety of Asian dishes which include Chinese Thai and Vietnamese. I started my meal out tonight with a small bowl of tom yum soup. There is only one size of soup listed on the menu and it is $10 hours for a regular sized Bowl but they will put it in a smaller bowl for $7. This $7 bowl was plenty big enough for me and would be for most people, I would guess. I went with the Spicy Pork Belly plate with vegetables dish for my main entree and I was very surprised at how tasty and tender the pork belly was. A wonderful peppery sauce added dimensions of flavor to this dish. I would say of all the pork belly dishes I have tried over the years that this was probably one of the best, if not the best. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Fredericton and enjoying some more pork belly here at Thai Mano. read more

Went to Thai Manao on the evening of June 15 with my wife for dinner. I ordered the green curry with chicken and a bottle of beer. Shortly after my food arrived, I noticed a small black bug in the curry sauce. As I pointed out the bug to my wife, she noticed a second one. And then a third.... We pointed them out to waitress who very quickly scooted away with the plate. (I wish I had gotten pics) They were black, and had legs...they were bugs!! The waitress, who was apologizing repeatedly, returned after speaking to her boss and offered a new plate. Unfortunately, my wife and I had both lost our appetites and just wanted to leave. The manager apparently agreed to not give us a bill for the plates, but insisted I pay for the half consumed bottle of beer. Odd display of managerial assertiveness- but as I paid 7.99 for the beer, the Asian lady (assume the manager) wanted my name and number and said they may be able to give me a 25 dollars gift certificate for my next visit! No thanks. I will follow up with the food inspector on Monday. read more

I overall like thai manao, I dislike the fact that their lunch menu has plates that do not come in a dinner sized meal. Other than that, they typically are pretty good, there is some cultural differences that can be seen between North American Culture and Asian cultures in the restaurant when it comes to food order, drinks etc. However I appreciate that as it is an experience for me. Their general tao chicken is impeccable, the pao thai is great as well. Out of all thai restaurants in Fredericton, I would recommend this one. read more

I have been to Thai Manao twice so far. Both experiences were very good. The portions are large and taste was fantastic for both dishes I tried. Service was very good. Atmosphere is nice - they have transformed a boring strip mall type building into a cozy place to eat. Went for lunch both times, and will be back to try some other menu items.
