We decided to go to Maxwell's as part of our Burger Battle experience. Not being from here, I had no idea where it was, despite having the address. So we called and said we couldn't find them, the girl on the phone first said "we're located in Fredericton, NB." Then gave the adress, we said we have that but can't seem to locate the restaurant, she then told us Queen street was parallel to King street.... after a lot of that, she eventually told us they were located in the Park Plaza hotel. Which was all we needed! We walk into the hotel, walk up to the restaurant and the hostess joyfully greats us and asks if we have a reservation, we said no, and he said we didn't need one anyone and brought us to a booth. After he left, my brother and I just looked at eachother; we just wanted a burger and this place seemed very fancy. Not long after we were seated other burger battle goers arrived though - phew! The hostess was great - he had wonderful energy, told us a bit about the menu, and how the ketchup was made in house. Our server was rather bland. The burger was SO good though! Local Valley Beef, Truffle mayo, gorgonzola cheese, a pear bacon compote with pickled onion rings. It was juicy and delicious! The pear and gorgonzola combo tasted amazing together. It was our second favorite out of the many we tried!

Good food and service. Nice ambiance. Reasonable prices. Try reserving the separate dining room.

Thinking of what to have for breakfast, hubby initially said the diner across the hotel where we…read morestay but I read only a 3.5 out of 5 review so I start looking and found The Cabin just a bit down the road. We were so glad we came! I had the English Breakfast and it did not disappoint. Visiting from Toronto, we have been so many diners back home but this one wow me. I guess it's the small town charm too and that why we were just back to get a couple chocolate milkshakes!

Neat little cabin off the road with a tight dining room and limited parking (10 vehicles)…read more $20 can stuff you with some delicious homemade goodies! Service is great! Atmosphere: a bit cramped, but lots of vintage souvenirs handing on the walls to look at while waiting for your meal. Mostly the food is homey and smaller portioned. Ham is excellent, toast is awesome, bacon could be a little softer and bigger. Eggs could be done better, and home fries could use less fry! Food can be hit and miss at times: (one time steak was wayyy too well done when asked for medium rare. Another time pancakes a bit burnt, dry and thin. The last time we were there, there was a hair in the dessert, but the second one tasted great!) Conclusion: Been here at least 5 times, starting to get a little bit claustrophobic, and you'll have to come here more than once to know what is usually better and what is more average. Also you probably don't want to drive a huge truck or SUV in the back as parking is very limited. If you have little kids or a huge party of people, would strongly look at going to another place as it is very tight spacing in between tables. But if you want a good bang for your buck and fill your tummy quickly then this cabin is a wonderful choice! Cheers!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Absolutely horrible experience…read more We arrived around 10:30 am on a Wednesday. There was no one else in the restaurant. The two ladies working seemed like they didn't want to be there. They acted like we weren't customers and they didn't need to serve us. They acted like we were some sort of burden to them. We were seated and then they never came back. We were seated in the bar area and they were standing at the bar chatting so loudly we could hear their entire conversation about their lives and how miserable they were. We had to ask for coffee. It took forever to come. We had to tell them we were ready to order because it seemed like they didn't want to take our order. I ordered the chicken and waffle. It was disgusting. Zero flavor. I don't even know how that is possible. I added salt and it still was tasteless. My husband ordered the coconut French toast. He liked it. But it looked like it was on very thin sandwich bread. My mom ordered the breakfast sandwich. It had no flavor and it was cold. The potatoes were cold and dry. Would absolutely never come back here and would not recommend to anyone.

It was full of seafood-salmon, shrimp, haddock, and 2 prosciutto wrapped scallops sitting on top. I would definitely make it a point to head to Britt's if I am in that port again.

The TVs were muted, the radio played at a medium level of classic rock, nothing hardcore. We received our menu, I was looking forward to ordering wings after hearing about how good they are. I saw the price, $17.99.... But you only get 8 wings.... 8.... 8 wings for almost $20.... Then I decided against that and ordered the Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich, only to find out the sides were another $3.99... for French fries.... Inflation on a potato jumped a lot at this restaurant. My parents met at this restaurant back in the 70's, I hear many story's of big partys and good times being had here.... Those days must be long gone with the price rates on the menu. I enjoyed the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and had a Caesar to wash it down but that will be my last meal here unless prices change. There's no reason for price gouging on fries and 8 wings for $17.99..... that's insane. I couldn't justify paying that for 8 wings, or even getting a side fries for $3.99.

Second time, they refused and it has been a year so we decided to give them one more try. Unfortunately, they still refuse to swap out French fries for a side salad or a veggie without charging the extra charge for it. However, my husband ordered meatloaf and was given the option to swap out his coleslaw for veggies??? Wouldn't the veggies cost more?! Our waitress was great but the management sucks and the willingness to work with people who have dietary restrictions is non existent. I settled on a single burger because my glucose levels can handle a bit of carbs but not as much as the fries would cause me. So sad that people would have to pay $6-8 extra because they can't eat potatoes/fries to eat something healthier that isn't more expensive. Three times is the last time. We won't be back.
