Although one can't order food from downstairs, they do offer great little cheese plates and meat trays that are ready to go on demand. We were there on a Wednesday night, which just happens to be their tasting night... Although I wasn't in the "mood" for a beer tasting, having the owner cotinuosly bring us a little sampler of the beers being offered made it hard to resist. We had a bottle of wine and a couple cocktails and ended up with a cheese plate and meat tray before the night was over. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been to places where the ice melts and leaves the oysters sitting in water, which isn't ideal. This restaurant clearly avoided that mistake. The kitchen was quick with our food and clearly held itself to a high standard of quality. It had been a long day for me, so maybe it was exactly what I needed. The restaurant itself isn't too small to feel cramped but just the right size to feel cozy -- high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back.
