Decor: awesome -upstairs above the hugely successful Garrison on Queen St, tasteful and subtle lounge-bar feel. Wine: GREAT list, most good global regions represented very well, some interesting grapes, and nice to see HIGH quality Canadian bottles. Prices are really impressively reasonable for such good wine, and potentially pretentious surroundings ;-) Service: Knowledgeable and very friendly. DEFINITELY one for my 'must-do' list each time I'm in town!

Seating about 20-30 people, this wine bar has a lot to offer. Great selection of wine both by the bottle and by the glass, easily broken down by taste profile to make choosing easier; good selection of traditional cocktails, beers, tequilas and scotch's. Although one can't order food from downstairs, they do offer great little cheese plates and meat trays that are ready to go on demand. We were there on a Wednesday night, which just happens to be their tasting night... Although I wasn't in the "mood" for a beer tasting, having the owner cotinuosly bring us a little sampler of the beers being offered made it hard to resist. We had a bottle of wine and a couple cocktails and ended up with a cheese plate and meat tray before the night was over. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can be sure that this will be a regular spot when I am in Fredericton on business in the future.

If you are sharing all the food including the mains, and you prefer your food absolute fresh and hot, the server is more than willing to bring out your dishes as soon as they are ready (instead of waiting until all dishes are ready to serve the mains together). The mussel with dill cream sauce is really creamy, I can almost drink all the sauce by itself. The portion of Philly cheese steak is loaded with cheese and mushrooms, there is a lot of steak too. The proton is really huge that it seems like double the size of some cheap restaurants. Striploin is done well to my liking. You can almost feel the tender texture comes from dry age process. The only thing I am appointed is the fried smoked pork belly on the tapas menu. It is just too dry, and the pork is way too small inside the thick breading. Basically, you can't taste anything other than the dried breading. If it weren't because of the sweet hot sauce, I would not even put a second piece in my mouth.

Andrew could not have been a better server, he even got a bottle and poured soft drinks in there for us to refill ourselves. Convenient for him and for us! The Irish Hog was delicious, the applewood smoked bacon and a couple of other things that were on that burger... What I didn't like about it though was that the burger was very small and the buns were huge -- so that wasn't the best but everything else was pretty good. Everything was excellent -- I basically inhaled the chili. The menu even included notes on pairing beers with each entrée or appetizer, which I appreciated. One thing I really liked about the oysters was that they were served on top of the ice rather than in it. I've been to places where the ice melts and leaves the oysters sitting in water, which isn't ideal. This restaurant clearly avoided that mistake. The kitchen was quick with our food and clearly held itself to a high standard of quality. It had been a long day for me, so maybe it was exactly what I needed.
