Seating about 20-30 people, this wine bar has a lot to offer. Great selection of wine both by the bottle and by the glass, easily broken down by taste profile to make choosing easier; good selection of traditional cocktails, beers, tequilas and scotch's. Although one can't order food from downstairs, they do offer great little cheese plates and meat trays that are ready to go on demand. We were there on a Wednesday night, which just happens to be their tasting night... Although I wasn't in the "mood" for a beer tasting, having the owner cotinuosly bring us a little sampler of the beers being offered made it hard to resist. We had a bottle of wine and a couple cocktails and ended up with a cheese plate and meat tray before the night was over. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can be sure that this will be a regular spot when I am in Fredericton on business in the future.

So we opted for the more traditional restaurant , Catch, as we evaluated the menus. The view was beautiful despite the weather. Service was great. Tonight we ordered: Woodstock salad with added chicken, replace the goat cheese with blue cheese. Salad was good, chicken topper was okay. Caesar salad was topped with the most yummy almost candied bacon. I'm not a big bacon fan - but this was perfect. Tomato bisque which came with a side of mini grilled cheese. This made me exceptionally happy. Kraft dinner, a treat my child was very happy about. Delicious warm sourdough bread was offered to start. I thought it was adorable at the end of the meal that they gave us each mini four packs of peppermint tic tacs.

The wifi worked perfectly and the TV was a 55" and easy to use. We rented a movie for about $20 which was a fun addition to a great night spent here. We sneaked out late in the evening and snooped the event spaces which were numerous and obviously a significant part of this hotel's business. When zipping around in and out of our room, I was very happy with the elevators which had zero lag and were easy to use with the responsive card security system they have. The staff was super helpful when little things came up, so thumbs up there! Even though we were burning the candle at both ends that night, I squeezed in a quick dip in the outdoor pool after brunch before checking out and it was great! Water was warm and it was easy to find a towel at the indoor pool and then zip over and jump in for a refresher. Very cool that there is a dock at this hotel so if you arrive with your boat, there isn't a problem. And no boat? No problem! You can rent a peddle boat for a fun activity. Also there is a scooter rental spot on the side of the building so you can easily check out the trail system that runs along the river bank. Would love to go back and try that! The brunch at the restaurant was awesome! I got the revered New Brunswick style lobster roll, along with a seafood chowder and it was delicious! Friend got a granola cereal bowl, and fruit parfait and it was all excellent, including our table, right by the window by the patio area. We could have opted for eating outside in the glorious sunshine too. I asked our server to hang in there while I went for a quick dip in the pool when waiting for our order. We ended up bringing our stuff down to our table as the time dragged on past the 11am deadline since we were enjoying the moment. Check out the photos, and I highly recommend getting out of the downtown and into this place unless you really enjoy the urban environment as part of your visit.
