5oz Lobster Roll with Lobster Poutine

We landed at Claudine's after searching for some of the best restaurants in Fredericton. It was spectacular. Perhaps the best lobster roll we've ever eaten - and just fabulous friendly and fast attentive service. Everything was so fresh and all homemade. Lots of options for everyone including picky kids. We had eaten at the hotel restaurant and we so disappointed from the night before - this exceeded our expectations in every way. We will be back thank you Claudine and team!!

I 100% recommend Claudine's...... food is incredible, service is spot on, and it's got a nice eclectic feel to it! I've driven from Moncton more than a few times to eat there!!

This little restaurant is located near Symthe and across from the loblaws in the plaza. Claudine's Eatery was packed, and there were no seats. What I found odd was that all the chairs and tables don't look like they're matching. It looks like random stuff that was bought and just placed there. It wasn't part of a set. . Anyways, it being packed, we had to wait for a long time. But, we wanted to try this place anyways, so we did. The food is pretty good, I got a burger, and that was literally one of the best burgers I've ever had. My girlfriend got the lobster roll and fries, and that was to die for. This is where they lost stars though... their service was terrible to the point where a lot of the staff didn't seem to know what was going on. There was a lot of confusion on where they seated guests and it took forever to flag down a waiter to get the bill. The staff weren't very nice, they weren't mean though. 3.5/5 - I would come back and give it a second chance because the food was out of this world but the service is lacking!

Dropped by for lunch on Sunday. It was packed and there was a line up (a few tables ahead of us). There was no greeting from the hostess and we had to get her attention to put our name down for a table. We were finally seated around 15 minutes later. I ordered the lobster roll with fries and an orange mimosa. The lobster roll was amazing. Huge pieces of lobster that were very fresh!! One of the best I've ever had. Orange mimosa was a little small. Overall I'd come back, but maybe when it is not so busy.

a plate of food

We had been wanting to go back to Claudine's for some time since the food was good. I had been wanting eggs benedict which is one of their specialties. Let me say, it did not disappoint. They had a special that included your choice of eggs benedict, mimosa and dessert. Probably the best egg benedict I've ever had.

Best breakfast spot in Fredericton. Large portions and wonderful service. Lunch menu is excellent too. Local craft brews. Never disappoints.

Delicious food and nice service. Order the lobster Benny. Little bit of a wait on Sunday but no problem on Sat at 1030.

Let me be clear, I take supporting Native-owned businesses very seriously. The website didn't…read morespecifically state it was, but given the name and location (across from the designated tiny reservation and yes I was disgusted with the little spec of land the Canadian Government gave them.) as well as the art on the walls, we had to assume that it was. The menus didn't provide any clues (indigenous foods or bio on the chef) and it wasn't until we asked about the bread that the server explained it was a traditional Native bread. That part was at least encouraging. However, first impressions were not. We walked in at 3pm on a weekday and there wasn't a soul. It took the "hostess/waitress" at least a full minute to look up from her phone. Strike 1. The establishment puts forth the online presence that it's fine dining yet the waitress had tattoos on her neck... strike 2. If we wanted a biker bar we would've gone to one. By looking around as we crossed the bridge from Fredericton city center, we crossed a "value boundary" and we were definitely on the wrong side of the tracks... we tried to look beyond that and focus on spending tourist dollars where it means the most.....the hostess/waitress really made that challenging. When she finally decides to grace us with her attention span she begins to interrogate us as to how long we will be as they have reservations 2 hours from now.... ?!?!?!? Uh, as long as it doesn't take you that long to cook it.... mind you, not a soul in the entire place... it was like an SNL skit. Thankfully it was shift change and we got a young man that was at least an upgrade in the attitude department. We ordered the lobster roll (when in Rome in that part of the world), haddock stew and seafood fettuccini. While both entrees and the soup were decent, it was not a $50 lobster roll. We're happy to pay , if it's worth it that is and this was no different then what you find at a food truck. Kept having to search for the waiter for water. It took him 25 minutes but it finally occurred to him to bring a carafe ... and hopefully that the food was a little too salty since we ordered local ciders and still needed more water. By no stretch is it fine dining in the conventionally held sense but it's certainly elevated for the neighborhood. On that note, it was rather comical when the biker tatt'd hostess offered "outside dining" when it was not only a heat wave but it was clearly in a seedier part of town. I guess it's all relative to one's lived experience. Just not one I'd repeat. I wouldn't go out of your way to dine here unless you are inspired to spend your dollars in the community.

The bathrooms are so disgusting that I would much rather use the bathroom in the woods away from the restaurant than go to the bathroom in the restaurant. I ( and family) have enjoyed Deluxe Fish & Chips for a LOT of those years as well. We used to really enjoy going there, whether it be for dine in or takeout, and the product had been VERY good, infact, outstanding! Their restaurants were pretty much full a LOT of the time, while the products being served, and the resonable price charge was great. However, over time, they have gone to the usual "dark side", and have now fallen so LOW on my list of "restaurants" for fast food, I can't believe that it's the same great place it used to be. The past couple of times I've gone there to pick up and order of fish & chips, I wondered why there were no other customers in the restaurant, at around 6pm, on a Wednesday summer evening. The store I have been going to for a number of years, is located on Prospect Street in Fredericton NB. I believe that, probably, the reason IS, that they have shrunk the size of their cardboard plates considerably, and people are getting FAR less than what they used to, for FAR more money. This place is a "Fast-Food" restaurant, that's trying to, pretend, that it's a "fine dining" establishment, with the prices they charge compared to the portions they serve. Example?? For what they USED to serve, which was well cooked, and a reallly good sized portions of, which WAS a really great, 3 pieces of fish, on a large plate overflowing with fries, at a reasonable price, has now gone to 3 smaller pieces of fish, (a LOT of times WAY overcooked, in fact practically burnt for all intents and purposes), and because of the new, much smaller size of the "Large" plate, with a mediocre amount of fries. That wouldn't be so bad IF, the price for what you're receiving was any where NEAR what customers should be paying for what they are being charged!! This "New" size of a "Large" fish & chips, now costs you almost $22 plus dollars. I don't have to guess anymore, why there are no OTHER people at this place at 6pm on a Wednesday summer evening, with a hotel full of toursists right next door. I don't know how their restaurants are still surviving after all these years, but I CAN say that, in my humble opinion, if their quality of food doesn't go back to what it used to be, and they continue to charge these RIDICULOUS prices for what customers receive, they won't be able to continue to exist much longer. It's very hard for these kinds of places to continue to exist, without customers filling their restaurants! However, I can honestly say that I won't be darkening their doors again, until they go back serving great food at a "Reasonable" price!! Best of luck with that!!
