We stopped in for lunch on our way out of spending the night in town. We waited a while to be seated and finally told the girl we didn't mind sitting outside since the inside was packed. She sat us on the second floor...waited at least 10 minutes...no waitress. The hostess came and sat a 5 top next to us. Still no waitress. Sitting in the sun, no water. We came down and told the hostess. We went to the counter to get a coffee and muffin to go...we had to be in P.E.I. by 6 and they made it to where we didn't have time to eat an actual meal. I saw the hostess tell the manager what had happened and she looked and us and she glanced back and continued to clean her counters. Never saying a word. Bad management. Located near downtown Fredericton, this place immediately has a family friendly environment. They have one sections for people to order and take out coffee and pastries, and the rest is a sit down restaurant. They have plenty of seating as they have seats on the 2nd floor. Beautiful decor of wood and stone to represent the mill. Service is really good, friendly, and they would walk around offering more coffee. I ordered the Montreal smoked meat benny while my friend ordered the Mill skillet. Both are really delicious. It's also good to know that they roast their own coffee. Washrooms are really clean as well. I would definitely come back here for breakfast! read more

If you are looking for breakfast, this is the place to go. They have every option you could possibly want and do all the usual staples also. We were impressed by the 'protein' option, which cuts out all the carbs that usually comes with a traditional breakfast. I had the meat breakfast wrap and it was very well made. About a 15 minute wait time outside during rush hours. 3. Long drive-thru wait times too unless all you want is an espresso AND if the person in front of you isn't ordering for a whole family!) My partner found a hair in her egg and the lady at the cash was also very rude when I came back to pick up a hat I left behind. Surprised Coffee Mill doesn't seem to have opened any more locations in their 50 years of service. The coffee here beats Tim Horton's and McDonalds by a long shot. Staff seems slow at preparing food items in the drive through, though. As for eating in, it's an exceptional experience. Varied menu with everything you could possibly want for breakfast, and dessert- and all the food's good too. No matter what I order I enjoy it very much! Staff is fast and friendly. Clean environment with plenty of space. My whole family likes dining here! Would rate 4.8 stars if I could, but it looks like I'm gonna have to round up. read more

The issue I experienced may only be of concern to other people who are gluten intolerant. On my visit, staff were great to deal with and pleasant, but admitted that the only gluten free options the Coffee Mill offered was a slice of gluten free toast, or bacon. This was the first and only time I had to leave a restaurant without eating, due to lack of options (I am not a fussy eater, but GF toast, a slice of bacon and water does not do much for satisfying hunger). The Coffee Mill needs to step up their game a bit for those with dietary restrictions, their current menu is one of the least inclusive I have ever seen. If you are GF, you might want to give this place a pass. read more

As a celiac, bread is not something we expect to get with our breakfasts, LET ALONE IT NOT SUCK! It was so good, I expressed my concern that it WASN'T gluten free, since it was so good. I learned the brand was called Udi's, and I have it every week! It's FANTASTIC! That one visit made a huge impact on my life by just having gluten free bread. This was definitely one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. I went for breakfast/lunch with my parents. My dad ordered a hot turkey sandwich which had minimal gravy and was overall very disappointing. My mom ordered the eggs Benedict with hollandaise on the side. It arrived soaked in hollandaise. When they switched out the eggs and returned to the table the fries were cold. I ordered an avocado chicken breast wrap with salsa instead of maya. They forgot the avocado and put mayo on it. The server was apologetic however claimed he wasn't able to change the cost of the turkey sandwich and only took of $2 for the missing avocado and had the audacity to extra charge the salsa that they forgot. Popped in for a sit down lunch during my trip to Fredericton. It was a bit confusing upon entering (as a first timer). There is a drive thru window, a walk up counter, and a sign that says "please be seated." I was a bit unsure whether I order my food at the counter, then sit, or if I would be served at the table, etc. I was not greeted upon entering so I wasn't advised on what to do or pointed in the right direction. With that being said, I did order a delicious "Coffee Meat Skillet" from their All Day Breakfast menu. It was tasty, albeit the portion seemed small, but I could just be used to bigger portions being from Ontario, and as this was my only sit down restaurant experience in Fredericton, I can't speak to the portion sizes at other establishments in the city. My mother and I had lunch at the Coffee Mill on 8 Sep 2016; while my BLT was very good, her Hot Turkey Sandwich was inedible. While the bread, gravy and mashed potatoes were good, the chicken itself had an off taste. The waitress confirmed that it was real turkey cooked at the restaurant; however, neither my mother or I were able to eat it. I ordered ribeye steak medium rare, mushrooms, onion and fries . when our meal came I had mashed potatoes . I told the waitress I asked for fries . She took my plate away and brought it back with the steak , mushrooms and onions and peas and said she would be right back with my fries . I started to eat and the steak was well done, my husband asked for the manager explained to her that my steak was well done and i asked for medium rare ,she said ill take it . I asked her if she could keep my mushrooms and onion under the heat light , she said ill bring you a whole new one . the manager came back with the fries . then after everyone else at the table was done eating . The waitress brought out a plate with a steak , mushrooms onions and peas ... I said to my husband why would they break up my meal like that i didn't understand there logic . When my husband went to pay for our meal he asked the manager on duty why they broke up my meal her answer was if I wanted fries with the steak I should have ordered another order .
