This Thai Restaurant is indeed a really good find. We were on a family road trip to Nova Scotia and were looking for a good place to eat. Saw a few people in Yelp liked this place and decided to give this place a try; not far from the highway in St. John. When we enter, they asked if we have reservations; we said no. They still let us in sonce it was around 5pm and they didn't have a lot of customers; so reservation recommended. When ww checked the menu; we saw a number of interesting items. First; Dick Curry. Rare; but we have had that in a Thai restaurant in Oregon earlier this year. The other one is Jackfruit Curry. I have never heard any place that serve this dish. Both of these dishes cooked as red curry with coconut. We ordered both and really lived both of them. We were really hungry and wanted to find something for a long time since we had to skip lunch because of the long drive. These dishes were worth the wait. Recommend trying both dishes. Nothing to complain; excellent service; delicious food and reasonable price; not cheap. I only wish the portion size was a bit larger. read more

After just having been shut down due to a failed health safety inspection, I noticed a roughly 10 inch blonde hair (my own being about 2 inches) in my mango chicken curry. This after having order a take out meal for myself and partner to enjoy entrusting that the establishment would take better care in the control of the quality of what leaves the kitchen. I was wrong. When I tried addressing this with their management, I was told there is nothing that can be done due to the time lapsed since (I kept in in my fridge as I work rotational shift work and do not have time to go on a whim at any given point). To which the lady simply turned away from me leaving me standing at the door. I made sure to alert the kind couple I held the door for to enjoy the hair in their food, smiled and went on my way. I previously very much enjoyed the atmosphere and food at splash. NOT anymore, nor will I be recommending that others try to do so. Obviously concerns aren't taken seriously here. read more

A very pleasant restaurant, tastefully decorated which offers high quality food. We started out with the Thai calamari which was probably the best tasting calamari I've ever tasted. It's served on a bed of shredded cabbage that's been seasoned with a Thai curry sauce, and a dipping sauce; unbelievably tasty. The calamari itself was lightly breaded and tender. We also enjoyed the Pad Thai and the Yellow Thai curry. Both were incredibly fresh and great tasting. The portions are more than enough to share. Highly recommend. read more

We went to Splash Thai after a coworker recommended it. When trying a new-to-us Thai restaurant, we always get their pad Thai. For a second entree we chose the Massaman curry. Both were delicious. The sauce on the pad Thai was nice and thick, rather than runny. It was obvious they use good quality veggies and meats. I liked that we were both given plates with rice for the curry, even though we ordered one curry and one noodle dish. Our server also checked back to see if we needed more rice later in the meal. The servings were huge and we brought leftovers home with us. We could easily have shared one entree and had enough to eat. The restaurant was busy, but our food came quite quickly. We had a 6:00 reservation and were done by 6:40. Our server was friendly and had a lot of energy, it seemed like he enjoyed what he was doing and interacting with people. He was knowledgeable of the menu and had suggestions for first time diners. read more

I've been spoiled by Thai Town food in Los Angeles. And so I judge according to that standard. Calamari appetizer was mixed with lettuce and the whole dish was heavy on fish sauce. Tasty but very odorous. I might try it again but ask for less sauce. Carrot and lettuce salads was also very heavy on fish sauce and little else. Asked for a lemon and it made it better, but could have used more salt and pepper. I won't eat that again. Pad Woon Sen glass noodle dish was chock full of black pepper and a distinct absence of Thai peppers. Seemed to be missing much of the typical Thai flavor. Nevertheless it was definitely edible. Associate had curry and he enjoyed it. Another associate has Thai fried rice and that was good but again lacked the spice so common in Thai dishes found elsewhere. read more

Good atmosphere. They restaurant seemed in good repair. We really enjoyed our wine choice and our app was delicious. I only wish that my entree was better. I ordered Pad Thai and it was rather bland. I ended up using my brothers sauce from his curried duck to add some flavour to it. I'd still try it again but I'd avoid the pad thai and get something different. Also servings are massive! It's a moody and ambient oasis in the middle of an industrial area with tankers on a rail behind the building and commercial/industrial on the main strip. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to eat there, but then the food and service kept me there. The hubby ordered a beer from Nova Scotia which he enjoyed - great first step. We enjoyed our dishes of pad thai and eggplant with chicken. Wow! The eggplant with chicken was phenomenal and like nothing I had before. It hit all the flavor notes with salty, sweet, sour, spicy...so good! Our server was pleasant and efficient and tended to us well. We were the last ones to leave and the staff was not overbearing. This is the best Thai food I have had in Canada. It's not cheap and the neighborhood won't win any awards, but the food is amazing and the service is good. We always get the Thai Basil Chicken and the Ginger Beef and they're just phenomenal. They could definitely do with more beer on the menu (the Maritimes have a ton of great craft beer) and the owner/chef is strangely reluctant to alter dishes to suit individual tastes but none of that matters because the food is so good. read more

Splash is expensive but I go here because it is easier for me to find vegan-friendly thai food. I also REALLY like their veggie spring rolls (not the crispy ones - they have chicken). I usually just order them to go. It is not a place I frequent often, but whenever I am home in Saint John I usually drop by. Tonight I ordered the spring rolls and the yellow tofu curry. It was about 17$ and pretty good - wouls be good to share the meal/cost with someone else. It wouls have been cheaper and more yummy to just get 2 orders of spring rolls, my fav!! read more

Dinner was delicious! Atmosphere was great. But the service was horrible. Our waiter clearly did not enjoy his job. He never smiled. Seemed annoyed when we weren't ready to order after 5 minutes. When he cleared the table when we were done he only took a quarter of the dishes. And made a point to take my soiled napkin off my plate and put it back on the table in front of me. When a customer puts her napkin on her plate it means she is done. That was really weird to me and I felt like he was annoyed that I had put it there in the first place. I don't intend on returning. We enjoyed our dinner here this week. We went with a Vietnamese friend who had lived in Thailand for several years (albeit in a refugee camp). We were all pleased with the three meals that we ordered and shared....Chicken PadThai, Beef and Ginger with noodles, and Massaman Curry. We also had crispy spring rolls for an appetizer (three to a serving) which we shared and wished we had ordered two or three servings! We had to ask for chopsticks, and for bowls for our rice, but other than that, we're happy and had good service. We will definitely return. read more

Really liked the online reservation feature. Made a request for a quiet table and they made a perfect selection. I would not have thought a Wednesday night would be busy, but the place was pretty much full! Decor is nice with very soft lighting and music. Our server was enthusiastic and very attentive. We ordered appetizers for four which were fantastic! There were four portions of four different appetizers and all were tasty. We chose to share two entrees, so we could have room for dessert. The cashew chicken was very good and went well with the rice served. The other dish was Pad Thai and it was good, but not the best I have had. There were only some bean sprouts as decoration and no other vegetables. Maybe that's a more traditional presentation, but I prefer having some veggies as well. Dessert was fantastic - we chose the coconut rum cake and the carrot cake. Each is made onsite and were easily some of the best desserts I have ever had in Saint John. My wife ordered take out on the weekend like we do from time to time. For some reason, our order was messed up the other night and my wife was told she would need to wait an extra 30 minutes or so. We were delighted to learn the meal would be complementary due to the mix up. This was very much appreciated. Our meal was delicious as always. A nice restaurant. Food was tasty and enjoyed by my company and myself. However, at the bottom of my Shrimp Lemongrass soup (which I was enjoying) was a few pieces of meat (pork?).
