I came here with a friend and we had a great time. The food is all fresh and cooked to order. We brought a few bottles of wine, and they supplied a wine opener and glasses for us. The bathroom is hidden in the back, behind the cashier area. There aren't a ton of tables, the place filled up fast so be sure to get here early! My only complaint is the to-go ordering hasn't been fully figured out, so there winds up being a bunch of people standing around in the dining area waiting for their takeout. We had a guy dressed in his pajamas standing right next to our table for about ten minutes while he waited for his food. It would be nice if there was a dedicated waiting area for takeout so they aren't strewn throughout the restaurant. As with all Thai restaurants, be careful on the spice! The person I was with ordered a 3 and it was super super spicy. I would recommend staying in the 1-2 range of spicy. Little small place so I would call ahead to reserve some tables for bigger parties, or call ahead to see if it's packed . When I got there it got packed fast in the matter for 30mins. I really enjoy Thai food, so much so that I started cooking my favorite dishes at home. One of my all-time favorites is Larb, and I tend to judge Thai restaurants on how they make this dish. This "salad" is usually ground pork or chicken over some greens and red onion with a pungent spicy dressing with fish sauce and lime juice. The larb at Thai Mama is really good, I have had both chicken and pork. I prefer mine with spice level 3, which was perfect, really spicy as Thai food should be, but not insane. This spot has delicious and flavorful Thai food - the best in NJ (and I don't say this lightly). You have the option to select your preferred spice level. Let me share that it is real peppers added to your meal; therefore, if you cannot handle spicy food, do not attempt anything beyond mild. I, on the other hand, enjoy spicy food and Thai mama hot is my preference. If you are able to handle the hanuman hot like my husband, go for it and be prepared to sweat. Anyway, the portion size is generous and you may take some of it to go (if you choose to dine in). This restaurant is fairly small, so you may want to reserve a table in advance as it gets busy rather quickly on weekends. The service is great for a small team who you can tell does their very best with providing service, managing the front and back, as well as answering calls for takeout orders. Just had lunch at Thai Mama for the first time with my mom. We were warmly welcomed by Molly, who took great care of serving us. Her friendliness was a pleasure. Overall, the place was very clean, quiet and had a very cozy appeal. We ordered Jasmine tea, Thai Mama chicken fried rice and an eggplant stir fry with vegetables and chicken in a light brown sauce that was very flavorful and delicious. There more than was enough food for 4 people, so we were thrilled to have leftovers to take home to enjoy again. I would definitely return to Thai Mama to try out other menu items since we were so happy with the freshness and taste of what we had ordered. I don't usually eat Thai food because, when i think of Thai it's spicy . And I don't do Asian spicy. Anyways, my friend recommended me to this place and from where i am driving wise, it takes me 27-33 mins more or less, but getting there on a Saturday morning isn't as bad as you think, parking is great , right outside of the restaurant on the streets. It's a small restaurant but it feels so homey when you get inside, everyone is so friendly and acknowledges you when you get inside. There so much to choose from. I ended up getting the Thai dumplings. They were so fresh and not frozen. You can tell when it's frozen taste. Everything there is homemade. then they recommended me to get the drunken noodles because the noodles are also freshly made in the morning.. they were delicious and yummy and it feels like a home cooked meal, not greasy at all and very tasty compared to when you get it from an Asian restaurant. This is authentic Thai food. I highly recommend this place if you love Thai food. Next time I'm gonna tried their spring rolls and wings. I couldn't eat it all, there will definitely be a next time . My family of 4 ordered two chicken satays - super tender, steamed dumplings - so good my daughter ate all of them by herself - and Thai wings - made to order, perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and delicious inside. For entrees we had two chicken pad Thais of different spice levels - two thumbs up, a chicken pad khing, and chicken pra ram - equally delicious. The foods itself were very delicious, the thin crispy wonton was a good start to the meal, followed up by the flavorful laab that made me tell my girlfriend, "This makes me miss my mom's laab". To round up our lunch, I got the rich and creamy Khao Soi Gai, which came with 2 drumstick. My girlfriends who had the Tom Yum Moo Sub couldn't finish her food due to the super generous portion. I ordered a spice level of 2 and it was suggested to go down to a 1. I asked for extra spice on the side but it was forgotten. I wish I stayed at a 2 and had some spice at home to add.
