Peanut Delight
Rakshak R.

Food was okay, service was very friendly and accommodating! The peanut delight with tofu was nothing too special, as it was heavy on the peanut butter flavor and lacked some depth. The spice levels are also considerably lower than other thai places, so order 1-2 levels higher. Worth checking out to see if it fits your palate, as prices are reasonable. Nice cozy interior.

Kaow Soi Noodle Soup (House Signature Soup)

I really don't know what's with all the negative reviews because this place is great! (On Google they have a 4.1 rating, so probably just no one leaves Yelp reviews anymore.) I don't eat Thai often, but when I do, this place is my go-to. Recently, I thought they had changed because the Google info is wrong and it sometimes shows a different name, Zaap Lao Street Eats or something, and I was so disappointed thinking they had closed and been replaced. Fortunately, it's just misinformation as they offer a house curry noodle soup that I have never been able to find on a menu at another Thai restaurant that is out of this world! It's thick, flavorful, and filling; I'm salivating, just thinking of it! And can never eat the whole thing in one sitting but it reheats just as well. My daughter loves the yellow curry with chicken which I agree is delicious, and we also usually order an assortment of appetizers. During lunch hours, they offer Thai Bento boxes where you can choose an assortment of different curries and noodle entrées to order from, and various other lunch specials. Sometimes they have other promos as well that aren't only dinner, like today I noticed 2-for-1 on certain entrees, which I have never seen before and I'm guessing that will only be a short time offering. Regardless, their prices are extremely reasonable. Perhaps, people don't like the darker, authentic, unmodernized ambience, but I think that's just part of its charm. Also, while the wait time to get food is usually minimal, and I feel like pick up orders are prepared quickly, the last time I visited service was fast but food prep was kind of slow. We were dining-in at dinner time and still in and out in under an hour though. I have traveled extensively and eaten in hundreds of restaurants and really feel like this place offers great food. They have an extensive menu, offer items that I've never seen elsewhere, are very reasonably priced especially if you go at lunch, and have always offered good service. I love this little longstanding hometown hole-in-the wall!

chicken Pad Thai with spicy fish sauce

Honestly really great pad Thai. Very Unique i have never had purple onions in my pad Thai before. Great price. Additionally they had MY sauces, I will not go to any Thai restaurant that does not have spicy fish sauce. Really great service considering there was only a 1 chief and 1 waitress. The reason why i only have a 4 star, is due to the dust on walls and round air vents. it's time for a cleaning i must say.

Fish Cakes
Jesmin N.

A decent halal option, but over all a lot of the dishes were on the sweeter side for some reason. We did like the fish cakes, papaya salad, fried chicken and rice dishes. The pad thai was very sweet, as was the panang curry. We were the only party in there for a while but food took quite a bit of time to come out.

Khao Man Gai limited time offer

Ordered 4 Khao Man Kai. The chicken was old/dark color with some greenish undertones. It did not smell right. The ginger dipping sauce was diluted, looked like just soy sauce and chili pepper. The rice was dry. The cucumber and cilantro were old. The whole order looked depressing and was inedible.

Pad Thai

The phad thai I ordered to go was so horrible I just threw it out. It's listed as Zaap Kitchen on apple maps and they confirmed that on the phone. The pad thai is dry and has no flavor.

There was hair in my food, I got the Pad Si ew and it just didn't taste good at all. I left my plate 3/4 full, paid for the food, and left.

I am so grateful to have so many delicious Asian restaurants in our neck of the woods. Our…read moreexperience at Oceanic Thai Kitchen was all that we hoped it would be and actually more since we only ordered items to go. The staff here are very sweet and helpful with questions about the menu and were not afraid to point out popular choices. For instance, I asked which of the dishes were best with roasted duck as the chosen protein. Our server indicated that the Basil Duck and the Duck Curry were the best and that the Duck Curry was more popular. So I chose that and my husband ordered the Thai Lo Mein with Beef and we split the Fresh Salad Rolls with added shrimp with peanut sauce. All of the items were amazing. The curry was unique and included added sweetness from pineapple and lychee. It was soooooooo good. The salad rolls were great with fresh peanut sauce. So nice with the added shrimp. My husband enjoyed the Thai Lo Mein. The decorations are tasteful and depict the Oceanic theme throughout. The restrooms and the restaurant were clean. We were very impressed and would definitely return!

The Shrimp Bang Bang had a perfect contrast of crispy exterior and tender interior, beautifully seasoned and complemented nicely by the dipping sauce. The Green Papaya Salad struck a nice balance of spice and tang--at level 4 it wasn't too hot, but still very enjoyable. My favorite was the Tom Kha, with its rich coconut flavor and pleasant sourness. For my main dish, I chose the Khao Soi, which was absolutely delicious. Unlike many Thai dishes I've tried elsewhere, this restaurant's offerings--especially the variety of seafood and meat options--have a more refined and subtle flavor. Rather than hitting you with intense heat or sourness, the dishes deliver a gentle, well-crafted taste profile. Their staff is consistently attentive and delivered our food promptly.
