Love their Tom Kha soup, very delicious. Wish they'd use the black mushrooms instead of regular white as it does change the flavor drastically in my opinion (and more lemongrass). Best Thai food in Simi so far! Had the basil lunch special. It came stir fried with bamboo, chicken/shrimp/pork, bell peppers, and onions. There was also a side of white/brown rice, one veggie egg roll, and a mini salad. Everything was delicious except the egg roll, which was over cooked...as in too hard to bite into over cooked. I asked for spicy and they told me to pick a number from 1 to 5. Since I was a big chicken, I picked 3. Booooyyyy was 3 spicy! Next time, I'm gonna man up and pick 4! read more

We ordered delivery because our normal place was busy, arrived on time and hot. Unfortunately one of the dishes (pad thai) was the spiciest thing I've ever eaten and we asked for medium, which is second in their scale of 4 levels. We asked for medium for our other dishes which came with good spice and edible. The pad thai was not edible for any of us. I called and the lady giggled and said medium must be too spicy for us.... My husband and I ordered food tonight from Thai Kitchen (we usually get Simi Thai) and we get the usual stuff that we always do; pad see ew, white rice, yellow curry and sticky rice. Our food arrived and was dropped off at the front door. We weren't sure how long it had been sitting there because we weren't notified that it had been dropped off. When we've ordered sticky rice in the past, its wrapped in foil. This time around there was no foil and the plastic container was broken on top. Almost seemed like it got smashed or fell on the floor and just got put back in the container. My husband still ate it. As he was eating it, he found a little surprise ( a worm carcass in his rice) Aside from the surprise he found in his sticky rice, the rest of the food we had ordered wasn't flavorful at all. Their mango sticky rice is SO good & you get what you pay for. The mango was so good and sweet and you get so much of it. Normally the rice and sauce is my favorite part but their mango was so good that I preferred the mango instead. Will be going back to try different foods. read more

To start with, the food containers were filled with cabbage and a tiny portion of food for the price. Secondly, the Salmon came so over cooked it was almost inedible. Lastly, and most annoyingly, none of the meals came with rice. When we called to ask, they were very rude and told us we needed to order rice. When do you ever need to order rice with a Thai meal? Came in at 11am sometime last month with a friend. Service was friendly, food tasted cold though at the lunch specials and the portions were smaller than I have received elsewhere. When one wanders aimless for a restaurant, one usually finds himself either excited with glee to discover a hidden gem or hugely disappointed to find how degraded dining out has become as an activity. Thai Kitchen for better or worse falls in between both of those states. My family and I were actually trying to go to Indian Hawelli but it turns out they are closed Monday nights. We quickly turned to the GPS and found Thai Kitchen. We were a little apprehensive as it was pretty empty but it was Monday so what do you expect? Overall, I was pretty pleased with the food and I can imagine there are not much better options in the area. It's comparable to Pookie's Thai in Westlake and about 1000 times better than Exotic Thai in Newbury Park. We ate some of the usual suspects: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Cocunut soup, Egg rolls, Summer rolls, Duck curry, Spicy Fried rice. I liked most of the dishes except the summer rolls - not a big fan of them to begin with. However, some people complained that everything was a tad TOO sweet. I personally do not mind. All in all, this was a good find in case I ever CRAVE Thai in Simi Valley. However, it doesn't come close to what you can get in Thai Town and it's really not worth driving out of the way for if you live in Thousand Oaks / Newbury Park since Sawadee Thai in Camarillo is better. read more
