I wanted to share my experience at Thai House Restaurant in Simi Valley. On Saturday at 2.45 pm i ordered chicken teriyaki and specifically asked for chicken breast. The staff said they could substitute with chicken breast, but when the dish arrived it was dark meat. ( i have the picture ) I politely explained that I do not eat dark meat and requested the correct dish. Instead of resolving the issue calmly, the another lady raised his voice, of course i cannot accept and they both raise the voice which made me feel very uncomfortable. I'm not writing this about money, but about clear communication and good customer service. The food itself was good, but I hope the restaurant takes customer requests seriously and treats customers respectfully. my elderly friend still paid the bill and gave a tip . Im regular customers, but we will not be back after being treated with such a bad attitude." read more

I've been coming here for a while because the food is decent.. flavorful, fresh, and overall consistent. But I have to be honest... every single time I come in, the experience with the lady who works the front is unpleasant. She always has this resting angry face and acts like every request is an inconvenience. Whether it's dining in or picking up an order, it's the same energy -- short, cold, and just not friendly. I don't expect over-the-top customer service, but a simple smile or polite tone would make a huge difference. It's gotten to the point where I almost avoid coming in, even though I like the food. I've noticed this same attitude each visit, especially when I ask for something simple like extra hot sauce...it feels like I'm doing something wrong for even asking. I really hope she reads this and understands that attitude matters just as much as the food. A little kindness would go a long way in making this place feel welcoming again. Stumbled across this quaint establishment in a shopping center while driving through town on the way home from a weekend away. My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by the friendly cashier/waitress, cleanliness of the restaurant, and ample parking. The food was delivered within 7 minutes of ordering and was delicious. I live near this restaurant. In this plaza there are 2 Thai restaurants. So competition is stiff. As we walked in there was a lady who unfortunately did not seem happy. She didn't really direct us where to sit so we stood for a min and she then told us to pick a spot. So we did. She then brings us the menus and gets our drink orders. It was a bit slow, keep in mind this was a Monday during lunch time. It wasn't very busy. Service was a bit slow. The lady didn't seem happy. Like I know not everybody has good days but attitude makes a difference in the demeanor of the restaurant. So smiling makes others feel welcomed. For the food we ordered: Larb is good. Great flavor and spicy. Great tang. A bit gritty. The spicy wasn't VERY spicy. Pad Thai was good but basic. A little soft and mushy. It had a decent flavor and wasn't anything memorable. Tom Yum soup was lacking. Flavor felt watered down. Needed more fish sauce FOR SURE. We ordered a small which I didn't anticipate it to be that small for $8.95. So for $4 more you get a large which comes in the hot pots. Presentation was pretty and classic. Garnishes were used accordingly. Thai iced tea was large which was fair for the price. They have a great lunch special fairly priced high for just a dish, salad and rice $10.95 Service was the unfortunate part of this rating. We were afraid to ask for anything. We waited til half our meal for bowls and a spoon for our soup. We waited til the end our meal to get her attention for the green Chili's we wanted from the beginning. We weren't offered refills unless we asked for it and she didn't check on us. It seemed like she was the only one there serving which I understand. However it was not THAT busy and she could of been more friendly. Unfortunately it didn't make it a positive and memorable experience. The lady that runs the place has a resting btch face to go along with her bad attitude. She hates her job and doesn't wanna be there. I've seen more personality on a Madame Tussauds wax figure than this rude lady. -____-* Customer service skills are non-existent. Shouldn't be dealing with people. Hire someone nicer... so she can stay in the back of the kitchen where she belongs (or stay home!). Definitely didn't leave a dime for tip. And would never be back here again. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Been sick and have been craving chicken Tom Yum Soup. So I ordered that for pick up and Thai fried rice. My gripe is with the soup. It was literally just chunks of white meat chicken in broth with a few mushrooms floating around and a couple pieces of cilantro. The broth tasted like chicken broth with a little chili sauce and a ton lime juice. Everything else was flavorless. No spice to it. Just a lot of lime flavor. I've attached a picture. I had a bad cold and wanted something super spicy to open my nose and the Tom Kha soup with shrimp and medium spice was wonderful and did the trick! It was loaded with giant shrimp, mushrooms and had a wonderful slightly sweet and very spicy flavor. The potstickers were good too. We will be back! read more

Amazing yellow curry and drunken noodles. Great price ($12-14 for large entree). Everything was piping hot after ordering and driving home 15 minutes. Everything was wrapped separately and tightly to keep it from opening in the car, the yellow curry was ordered "very spicy" and it was just enough heat, mildly sweet, rich sauce, and chopped veggies that still had a bit of crunch! The drunken noodles were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The slightly smoky wok-fired flavor and the crunch veggies made these way better than any I've had before. Highly recommend! read more

Pickup was smooth & packed nicely -- also included were packets of chili sauce & jalapeño vinegar. The food itself was probably the best thai food I've ever had. The flavors were smoky, extremely flavorful, and with the right amount of seasoning. Of the 3 dishes I ordered, my favorite was the spicy eggplant -- it was seasoned so well, had a good amount of smoke to it, and wasn't too mushy. My friend and I arrived and were instantly greeted with a friendly smile and hello from the person working. The menu is vast with many Thai options and yet so easy to read. We ordered a yellow curry, Tom kah, and pad see ew. Everything was, and I kid you not, the best Thai food I've ever had in my entire life. Everything is so flavorful and delectable. Don't tell anyone - but THIS is the best Thai food in Simi, and we have tried them all. Superb flavor, great depth to the food; never spicy just for spicy's sake. Best sticky mango rice for dessert when mango is ripe and in season. I love the larb salad and Tom kha kai soup, while my family loves gyoza, drunken noodles, and other traditional noodle dishes. They get really busy, so be sure to order at least 45 mins ahead of when you want to pick up for takeout. Not much ambience, so do not recommend eating there. read more

The menu specifically says that prices may change on menu without notice. Also, their menu has hidden prices such as extra for your choice of meat. I got the Dishes in the photos that were $11.95 on menu, but it also says $2 for choice of meat (chicken, beef). As far as the food, it was decent. This is currently our go-to Thai restaurant. My favorite is the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). The food is very tasty, and you get a good amount of food for the price. The food is served on plates, with metal utensils. The restroom is nice and clean. To be honest, I'd eat here more often if the price came back down a bit. However, I understand post-COVID and inflation is influencing pricing at all restaurants and everywhere else. The owner (Nancy or "Nan") is very nice as well. It's unfortunate that the rating for her restaurant is influenced by reviews written prior to her ownership. I understand it's the same name and location, but I wish there was a way of removing old reviews when a new owner and chef take over. We'll continue to eat here on a regular basis. read more

He's only five and she told us that is disturbing the customers which was only two and they were minding their business, then she ordered us to quiet my son. If not, we had to leave. We ordered via uber eats last night. Just by looking at the teriyaki chicken, I could tell the chicken was not real. It looked unappetizing and the taste was just like fake chicken. The texture, the color, everything about it was screaming fake. Big disappointment. The yellow curry had a taste as if they have cooked shrimp in it and took the shrimp out and replaced it with chicken...interestingly the chicken this time looked and tasted real. However, the taste of the shrimp was awful. The egg rolls were ok. Nothing special. We will not order from here again because overall we didn't like the taste of the food compare to other places we have tried before. read more

This is my go-to Thai place in the area. I think I've had this place 20 x's by now and each time they deliver the most tasteful and refreshing Thai food. Consistency is key! My favorite dishes are the Spicy Eggplant, Steak Salad, and any of their curries and the Basil Chicken. TL;DR: This place is amazing and I was very satisfied. The chow mein and yellow curry are delicious, we ordered via Uber Eats. My boyfriend and I just moved to Simi from LA - and honestly, it's been tough trying to find our go-to spots again in a new place. I've ordered from so many places and been disappointed. But Thai House was the pattern-interrupt we needed! The yellow curry is rich, soupy, and a perfectly-seasoned meal with great depth of flavor. Honestly better than our go-to Thai food restaurant in LA. It doesn't appear to come with rice with the curry, so order a side of sticky rice if you want rice. Still also a great deal price-wise in comparison to other local restaurants in my experience. I saved half for leftovers the next day and it was still *chefs kiss*. My boyfriend got the chow mein, it was delicious. Flavorful, the noodles had a great mouthfeel, the pork was crispy and nice and the veggies were well-cooked. Very satisfying. We haven't been to the restaurant in person but after this experience we are adding it to our list! Great for a reasonably-priced and super-satisfying meal. Egg roll incident We have been ordering here for years and always been very happy. They got new owners some time ago and we put in an order for egg rolls along with other items and the egg rolls come in an order of 5 we asked if we could order one extra egg roll to purchase and they refused to accommodate an order of an one extra egg roll!!
