I'm never one to pass up good Thai food. A friend recommended Thai Kitchen, and I had never even heard of it before. Went there for my usual Friday lunch out. I was tempted to try out their pad thai, but decided on the beef satay lunch special instead, with the fried rice and soup. The beef satay was really good, a bit singed at some edges, but still very tasty. Egg roll was good, and the fried rice. The soup was a change of pace from broth-based soups most Thai places serve (though Thai Cottage had theirs similar to an egg drop soup on my last visit), Thai Kitchen had a sweet and sour soup. Very flavorful, with plenty of small veggies. Overall another great place to add to my list of places to eat. So many wonderful restaurants, so little time. read more

It is hard to see this place... you'll find it in the strip mall next to Harbor Freight tools. Not a glamorous spot to be sure, but once you find it you'll be rewarded with solidly reliable Thai food at a reasonable price. I especially like their pad Thai and the tomato/pineapple curry. I had one of their soups last time and it was surprisingly good. It is a spartan place, but seems clean. As the waitresses write your order in (what I believe is) Thai, I assume there is at least one actual Thai in the kitchen. My only complaint is the televisions they have running in the dining area. Delivery food in Simi Valley is pretty limited! Sometimes I just don't want to get ready just to drive out and pick something up to eat. I looked up places that delivered and for some reason Thai Kitchen stood out to me! So I ordered and was pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty decent for delivered thai. The portions were pretty fair and definitely enough for one hungry person per item. I got the Pad see ew and it was pretty great! I am no thai food snoot though! As long as it is fresh with a good not too greasy taste, then I am down! I think for delivery you have to order more than $15 worth. I didn't know what to expect from this place when I met a few friends for dinner. I hadn't heard about the restaurant but love Thai food so I thought why not? We started with the coconut soup....delicious! I loved the spice and how flavorful it was you can choose to add any meat you want. We chose chicken and I couldn't get enough. I ordered the spicy Kung pao chicken and was pleased with my dish however I wish I had ordered the beef salad like my girlfriend did. It was so good. I don't know what spices they used but I've been thinking about since I left. Lastly my other girlfriend got the chicken larb salad...it reminded me of chicken lettuce wraps but do much better. I can't wait to go back! That coconut soup is calling my name....and the Thai iced tea is pretty darn good as well! Wonderful experience!! Our waiters were friendly and kind. Each dish we ordered so tasty especially the Walnut Shrimp and the Fried String beans!! Yum!! Don't go over "3" unless you're prepared to be on fire, and blow your mouth out! It's delicious though. I love the lunch specials Garlic Lovers, with beef, Panang Curry, Basil Leaf, the Mixed Vegetables, Green Beans with Beef. It's all so awesome. The soup of the day is usually vegetable. Grab a glass a Thai Tea, and you're set. I've had the Pad Thai with Chicken and Shrimp, wondreful flavors. Check out the Pineapple Curry with Shrimp this is another good one. Great place. The food is some of the best I've had. The prices are great and the service is friendly. The restaurant is a little outdated but the rest makes up for it and then some. For the lunch special they offer "vegetable soup", it's not the vegetable soup I was thinking. It's really light and super tasty. I always get it instead of the salad now. I was craving thai food and this place is pretty close to my job and had such good reviews. I called in my order of pad see ew with tofu, they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. The food was ready when I got there, it smelled delicious! I couldn't wait to get home and get my grub on! Unfortunately, it smelled better than it tasted. Pad see ew usually comes with chinese broccoli, this came with regular broccoli. The tofu was tough with not a lot of flavor. I really wanted to like it, but I didn't. I might give them another try and order the pineapple fried rice. I will say though that the service was very friendly! Also, they deliver. Awesome! read more

The Lunch special is pretty standard, entree + eggroll + soup or salad. I went with the soup and was impressed, usually its a throwaway additional item at these places...but, this soup was very simple and pretty delicious. Been here a few times now and have been satisfied every time! The staff is always extremely friendly and the service is great. I've been in when it was dead but this trip it was packed and yet we still got all our food within 5-10 minutes. I personally love the yellow and green curry. What makes the place so great though is the value. Yeah it's not decadent cuisine but the pricing reflects what's so great. A large rice for $2. A lot of places charge triple that. A soda for $1.39. Amazing deal for quality Thai / Americanized Chinese. Had the Orange Chicken, Yellow Curry Fried Rice (chicken), and the Panang lunch special (chicken, side salad). Everything was delicious, I tried the wife's Thai Tea and that was delicious too. I spent about 15 minutes trying to find either some Chinese or Thai food in the area, and I finally settled on Thai kitchen because i noticed they have a lunch menu. I proceeded to order the shrimp and ginger and place my order for pick up. Place is located in a little strip mall plenty of parking. I walk in I was greeted play seems clean gentleman is nice I pay I leave and this is where the disappointment begins. Right off the bat bag seems very light, not a big deal, I'm hoping for a tasty meal. I open my box I see four very old previously frozen shrimp almost invisible because they were buried in onions and a couple of small pieces of green pepper, it was bland it was disappointing and it was $10. The most disappointing Thai I've ever had. I return and ask him why the deal was, and why I only got four tiny shrimp for $10 and he has no answer but instead offered to refund my money, which I agree to and then he decided To only refund me half!!!! I never return food but this was a travesty. Even more insulting was the partial refund. This place seriously sucks. read more

The lady said no. So I ordered my tofu cash vegetables separate from rice. Wow, just great. The food was fantastic, and the owner/ waitress was warm and very nice. I've been looking forward to finding good Thai food in this area and I've finally found it. We were craving some Thai. New to Simi, so needed to start somewhere. We saw the favorable reviews, but unfortunately you sometimes cannot trust everything your read. We started with something we thought would be safe, an order of chicken Satay. The peanut sauce was a something reminiscent of some bizarre thick paste with no real taste or flavor. The first piece of chicken was ok, not much flavor. The rest of the pieces were rubbery tasting and inedible. We also ordered the spicy green been with chicken. It had ok taste. The red chili sauce was pretty spicy even for asking for it to be medium spiced. It was pretty oily. The green beens were cooked well. A few pieces of chicken were chewy. Not the best Thai, but not the worst. Price was ok, would not return and would not recommend others to try if you know good Thai. read more
