We were on a work road trip and found a local Thai place with good reviews and we decided to check it out. Very small place inside but amazingly attentive staff with incredibly yummy food. We had pork Pas Thai which was fantastic and nice and delicious. We also tried Nam Kaow which we had never tried and it was one of my new favorite Thai dishes. Oh my gosh!!! Hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I've visited in my life. Was coming down from Lassen and stopped for take out. Luckily this business is open during the COVID pandemic, but note no restroom use and no indoors/outdoor seating. I called in my order and it was ready in 10 minutes around 3 pm on a Monday. Check out the menu photos I shared since I could not find a website and the menu prices are outdated from earlier menu photos. We had beef drunken noodles, chicken pad Thai, yum won sen salad, and a beef pad see eww. The pad Thai had a stronger tamarind flavor than most Thai places. Each had their unique flavors and a must try! Lastly, tried the medium spice level on all 4 and it was on a spicy side but we loved that! We new to the area and are checking out different places to eat. We checked out Thai Hut couple of days ago and were Very impressed. The service and food was great. We like spicy and usually have Thai hot. This was a little spicier than other restaurants but still, the flavors were wonderful. We shared the Basil Bamboo dinner. Next time we'll have the Drunken Noodle. The place is a bit small inside but we got there before the crowds! Enjoy! read more

I recently visited a friend in Redding and asked what her favorite Thai restaurant was...and it was Thai Hut. So when we went one hot day, I could see why. The dining room is small and cozy. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. But the portions! VERY generous. Pud Thai and Masaman Curry Chicken was authentic and tasty. The extras like the small Thai roll and palate cleaning salad was a surprising extra. The peanut sauce is always a favorite of mine. So I was not disappointed by the taste and the amount served. Will I return? When I visit again after the heat and the wildfires die down...I will be back. read more

Thai Hut is the best Thai food in Redding for 3 reasons: 1) Quality. The cooks know how to season properly, make their own broth from scratch for Pho & have a variety of menu options that all have unique flavors. 2) Consistency. I've never had an order made differently than the last. Every time I go there, I can depend on getting something made exactly them same as before. 3.) Customer Service. They are always friendly & accommodate me. Ive called within 5 minutes of closing (I know it's a jerk thing to do, but I love the food!) & picked up the food a few minutes past closing hours. They will take your order & the food is still delicious! Honestly, it's very hard to meet all 3 criteria as a business owner but Thia hut is killing it. Great team! That's saying a lot because I'm regularly disappointed with Redding restaurants & usually a harsh critic. We stopped at Thai Hut on the way back to the Bay Area from Oregon. I was looking for a noodle place not too far off from I-5. Thai Hut is a small hole in the wall restaurant serving great food at reasonable prices. My husband got the red curry lunch special, which was good but not outstanding. I ordered the pad Thai with tofu and we both agreed it was among the best that either of us had ever had. It was a bit saucy and I liked the fact that they didn't skimp on the tofu (I'm not sure why restaurants do that when tofu is much cheaper than meat?!). The noodles and tofu both had the perfect texture. I got it "medium" spicy and it had just enough kick but wasn't too spicy. Service was friendly! Place is a bit worn down but everything looked clean. Right now, they have limited hours (M-F 11-6). But if I'm ever driving through Redding again, I will for sure stop and order more pad Thai! read more

Honestly its really Cheap food, however its not very good. i got the beef pho, almost every peice of meat in it was extremely fatty, or purple and black. the broth was probably the only good part. I came with my cousin and we both ordered pho. they bought one extremely small plate of sprouts and cilantro, which was not enough for one bowl of pho. when i asked for another plate of sprouts they charged me for it, and brought me an even small plate of them. They gave us each 1 napkin. which was no where near enough and when we asked for more they gave us 3 more napkins for us to share. the walls were also extremely dirty, and the utensils did not look clean either. the service wasn't good, and everyone in the kitchen was yelling. also, everyone working was in the kitchen the entire time and the server came out once to check on us. They also tax on everything, they tax you to pay with your card and they tax for you to eat there. read more

The only thing is the last 2 times we ordered Fresh Rolls ( and we always order Fresh Rolls) ! We ordered 2 orders and we only received one order with our take out! While on vacation we came here twice for the pho which was amazingly good. Service was great and the place was small but well decorated.

I arrived at the Thai Hut at 2:45 pm on a Monday, in between the lunch and dinner rush and it was hopping! I took this as a good sign and let the helpful waitress guide me to the Kaow Poon soup and was so glad I did. It was awesome! Great service, great food. An all-around win-win! read more

Ordered a Beef Pad Kee Mao and Shrimp Pad Thai to go, the woman who took my order was nice and told me it would take 20 minutes. Waited almost an hour before our food was ready, but they were pretty busy, still kinda annoying though. Portions are good for the price. Pad Kee Mao was really good, seasoned well with lots of veggies and noodles. Would highly recommend. Pad Thai looked really good, but taste was subpar to be honest; the sauce they use was kinda weird and didn't really taste like Pad Thai sauce. They gave a good amount of shrimp, albeit a little overcooked and tough. Would have liked bean sprouts in it as well since that's normally a staple, but maybe they forgot? It just ended up being a lotta noodle and some shrimp. Overall, service, portions, and price were good. I don't usually post reviews of restaurants and if I do it's most always positive, but I feel this has to be shared. First off, I am a huge fan of Thai Hut, I've been many times and would eat their fresh spring rolls and red curry every single day if I could. Last month I got the fried veggie rolls and bit down on something extremely hard, it was a chunk of metal cooked into the rolls. It was about 1/4" x 1/4" and 1/16" thick, large enough that my tooth was still sore the next day. I quietly told the waitress and she took the veggie rolls off of the bill. I ate my pho and happily left, assuming it was just a crazy accident. The other night I got takeout red curry with fried tofu and found MORE METAL in my food!! I was watching a movie hardly paying attention to the curry, good thing I looked down because I would have sliced my mouth open. I ziplocked the tofu twisty metal shard and brought it in just so they were aware because that is super dangerous and there's no way I'm the only one getting metal in my food, right?! I quietly pulled the waitress to the side to show her away from customers. She wasn't even shocked this time, she said they are all aware!!! "Unfortunately that happens. You know when metal gets old and starts breaking and flaking? Our steamer basket that we use to cook all of the veggies in is old and we haven't found a new one that properly fits into the pot, but we're looking for one." WTF?!?! Get a new steamer basket! Cook the veggies a different way! I didn't even know what to say. She gave me the option of a refund or a free meal next time, I chose the refund. There's no way I am going to keep going back to what was one of my favorite restaurants if they are knowingly cooking metal into their food. Now I'm worried about what else goes down in that kitchen. After the closure and reopening of my previous favorite Thai location in Redding, I was encouraged to give this place a try...what a blessing! Those that have seen my reviews know I LOVE Thai food; additionally, I'm a Vegan. Finding quality vegan fare in this part of California is tough, though I will say the Thai food in this area is, strangely, very good. I travel frequently on business and have tried Thai food from coast to coast. I find local flare in Thai spots very frequently, but few times has it been as prevalent as it is here! When I eat the veganized Thai dishes here, I feel like I'm tasting the a fusion of flavors that combine traditional Thai with local taste points. Notes of ginger seem higher, which is a favorite spice for patrons in Redding, and hints of cilantro (a California favorite) touch so many dishes. The Pho here is other worldly...among the best I've ever had. The portion is appropriate, the flavor is amazing, and the add-ins are regional and flavorful. The digs are a little small, but the cramped feeling is a small price to pay for such incredible food! read more
