While the curry was very flavorful, I wish that it did not come in a bag. :( Also, I wish that the veggies were softer. The carrots weren't remotely soft. Maybe due to the time I order (early lunch). The Pad Thai looked off. It was pale in color and had nothing to accompany it besides a lime. No bean sprouts, green onion or anything. It was almost white in color. Craving Thai food for dinner. My husband and I stopped by. First time here, thought they were the other Thai Gem place that heard great things about but for some reason is never open. Came and was greeted. Was told we could sit anywhere. Was given the menu and drinks order taken. There's so many options on their menu to choose from. I was craving my usual red curry and papaya salad. Ordered eggrolls as apps, my husband ordered larb and we got chicken fried rice for our toddler. The owner was the one who took our order. He was very nice and said he was in business for about 45 years and everything is made fresh to order. Food came out fast and hot. Everything was delicious. The red curry I ordered was one of the best I've had I could taste the coconut milk and brought so much childhood memories. The papaya salad Thai style was perfect, strangely my husband thought it was too spicy (when he eats more spice than I do) but I thought it was just right. The chicken fried rice was good too. We didn't have to wait for ages for the food and there was no loud music or anything else that prevented us from enjoying what we ordered. I actually been here a couple of times. I want to say I started coming in since 2015. It was the first couple places I went to when I moved here. The service is actually always good. The owner really takes care of you when you eat there. When it's not too busy he engages with his customers and he would remember me when I came with my mom and sister and always ask about our education and how's school. Today I decided to bring a friend of mine to share the experience with him. We both enjoyed the atmosphere here as we just talked and talked. I came here last week with my sister on my hour break. Work was 5 mins away but I got worried because I forgot (I've been here before) that it's short staff and the owner was the waiter! Even though it took 10 mins to order, it was understandable as I know how he works! You can literally see him doing things. The owner is very kind and proud! I adore how engaging he is with his customers! His service is top notch. He definitely remembers my sister and I as we've been here plenty of times and always asked about our adult life aka college and when I told him I work full time now and am taking a break from school, he said it's always okay to take a break! Which is very refreshing to hear. Knowingly food takes 20-30 mins to cook and I ordered fried rice, ribs and pad Thai which would take a bit longer. It's funny how much of a panic I was in but it's my fault for forgetting to calculate how it usual works! When he found out I was on my break, he told me I could've ordered ahead but it's okay, silly me! The food came in a timely manner, maybe 15-20 minutes before my break ended and I munched away. Needless to say the food was good as usual, I didn't shove the food up my mouth asap and actually had time to enjoy it and I made it back on time with no worries! Out of the way overlooked "hole in the wall" Thai place between army recruiters and liquor store by old 99 cent store past Denny's. Tasty food, fair prices, family business friendly owner cooks wife his wife and his daughter ? grandaughter waitresses. They're been here 20 years. The only drawback is the bright sun through the west facing windows which no amount of curtain seems to block. This has to be one of my most favorite Thai places to go. Great chicken satay, peanut sauce is a little thick but very good. The Thai Basil Chicken (ground) (yes you can specifically ask for that) is probably one of my most favorite dishes anywhere. Next time o will try my garlic chicken ground as well, this time was just in chunks and was good not great. I spiced it up with some chili paste and soy sauce for some extra saltiness. Gorgeous little restaurant off Shaw and Willow. Came here last evening for dinner and was greeted with kind, friendly service and delicious pad Thai. I was so hungry I dug right in when the food arrived and forgot to take some pictures, but I will for sure next time! I got the Special Combo #1 with veggies and tofu (they ask if you are vegetarian so they can cook it properly), and it was so good! This restaurant has set the standard for pad Thai for me. There were people picking up orders but nobody dining in. I'd give it a score of 6 on the cleanliness. The one thing that I did not like was how the owner or the cook found that the waitress had messed up an order and gave the order to the wrong people. He was pissed which is understandable BUT he went off on the waitress in front of everybody. I mean he did not hold back. I felt really bad for her because I think she was relatively new. And you can tell she looked like she wanted to cry. I understated the whole being angry but as an owner of a business he should have been a little more diplomatic and should have chosen his words better and not do it in front of everyone. First time to dine in since 16-Mar-20!!! I had one of my top 10 favorites: special #7 Basil chicken, pad Thai, an egg roll, and steamed rice. It was very good as usual! I am very glad to be back for dine in. I just tried a brand new item: pumpkin curry with chicken. So new that it is not yet on the printed menu yet. Wit said that he worked on this dish for 9 months. It is wonderful a bit sweet and a bit hot with a delicious blend of Southeast Asian pumpkin and your choice of meat. The pumpkin is a nice sweet flavor and a bit hot from the jalapeño. Just moved to Fresno and was craving some authentic Thai food. Decided to give this place a try because it's close by. The place is in between the Marine Corp recruiting station and little Caesar. It's very quaint and only had a few tables. Once inside, we were greeted by the owner and the menus very brought promptly. He also brought us waters as well without being requested which was a nice touch. We opted to try the prawns appetizer, the pad Thai, rice and red curry combo. The appetizer was very good. The prawns were coated with panko breading and served with a side of sweet chili sauce. The breading was crispy and the sauce was great. I'd give it a solid 5 out of 5. The combo entrees arrived shortly after and were equally amazing. The pad Thai was a great side portion. The noodles were separated and not stuck together which tells me they prepare it fresh to order. Pad Thai was a 5 out of 5. The red curry was delicious as well and had a slight kick to it, although I would have preferred more of a kick but that's just my preference. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 because I would have liked a little more salt in it, also due to my preference. This was a great spot, friendly owner, good food, reasonable prices and fast service.
