    Lovely local place

I feel like my heart might suffer for not giving this beautiful place five stars. It really is wonderful, from the actual normal refrigerator behind the counter to the owner coming out and reminding every customer that he sleeps well because in 40 years here no one has gotten food poisoning! This dude should be in advertising. My friend's drunken noodle dish looked fabulous. My combo was okay. The curry a bit watery. The pad Thai a bit bland. But if I lived near here, oh baby, I would visit all the time.

I use to go here all the time, but haven't been in years so I went back one evening bc this was the place that I fell in love with padthai! We ordered the combo with padthai and curry. The padthai was good but very oily. We weren't a fan of the curry but LOVED the peanut sauce on the veggies!! It was sooo good! I love this small shop, I'll always come back!

I actually been here a couple of times. I want to say I started coming in since 2015. It was the first couple places I went to when I moved here. The service is actually always good. The owner really takes care of you when you eat there. When it's not too busy he engages with his customers and he would remember me when I came with my mom and sister and always ask about our education and how's school. Today I decided to bring a friend of mine to share the experience with him. We both enjoyed the atmosphere here as we just talked and talked. He enjoyed his Seafood Salad and I stole a bit of his shrimp haha. I finished my Beef Pad Thai as always. The food was good and I'll probably be back with my mom again. Or order it on doordash LOL.

Doordashed chicken pad Thai with Thai tea. Honest review: I've never had pad Thai like this, it didn't have the orange/brown color and no tamarind flavor. The Thai tea tasted watered down and I wouldn't order either of these again sadly :(

I came here last week with my sister on my hour break. Work was 5 mins away but I got worried because I forgot (I've been here before) that it's short staff and the owner was the waiter! Even though it took 10 mins to order, it was understandable as I know how he works! You can literally see him doing things. The owner is very kind and proud! I adore how engaging he is with his customers! His service is top notch. He definitely remembers my sister and I as we've been here plenty of times and always asked about our adult life aka college and when I told him I work full time now and am taking a break from school, he said it's always okay to take a break! Which is very refreshing to hear. Knowingly food takes 20-30 mins to cook and I ordered fried rice, ribs and pad Thai which would take a bit longer. It's funny how much of a panic I was in but it's my fault for forgetting to calculate how it usual works! When he found out I was on my break, he told me I could've ordered ahead but it's okay, silly me! The food came in a timely manner, maybe 15-20 minutes before my break ended and I munched away. Needless to say the food was good as usual, I didn't shove the food up my mouth asap and actually had time to enjoy it and I made it back on time with no worries! I never have gone to a restaurant and left in an hour, this was the first and it was exciting yet scary at the same time! For a limited time this dinner, the owner did his best and we made it so I wanted to share this fun review!

    Chowmein with no flavor

I had a DoorDash order from here and the food was terrible. The curry had uncooked chicken with no vegetables at all! Their chow mein was bland and fried calamari wasn't fresh.

I'd give it more stars if I could! The food is amazing and very well priced. Delicious and affordable Thai food already will get my money but for the many years we've been going there they have also been above and beyond in terms of service I'm stuck on their pad Thai, so grateful that I got to have some one more time before I have to move. Gonna go back right this minute to eat way too much chicken pad thai.

Found hair in food (again). Dine-in is unbearable when there is hardly air conditioning and it is super stuffed inside. Will return, but wont recommend.

This has to be one of my most favorite Thai places to go. Great chicken satay, peanut sauce is a little thick but very good. The Thai Basil Chicken (ground) (yes you can specifically ask for that) is probably one of my most favorite dishes anywhere. Next time o will try my garlic chicken ground as well, this time was just in chunks and was good not great. I spiced it up with some chili paste and soy sauce for some extra saltiness. This isn't my first time ordering from here and it is always very good, never disappoints. Highly recommended.

I called in and ordered shrimp spring rolls. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 10 min. I went to get it. The restaurant is safe and pretty clean. The older man that took my order was very kind and said he makes everything as it's ordered. The spring roll was wow! Amazingly delicious! Fresh and tasty! Absolutely loved the dipping sauces too! Fantastic! Great service and delicious shrimp spring rolls! Highly recommended!

I don't have the pleasure of eating Thai food often. Wish I did. Thai Gem was fantastic. I ordered Pho and red curry (I think?). Tasted great!

I have really enjoyed the authentic flavors from this small restaurant near Fresno State. The…read moredishes showcase the hallmark balance of Thai cuisine--sweet, sour, salty, and spicy--all working together in harmony. The Pad Gra Prow (Thai basil stir-fry) stood out for its savory, spicy, and aromatic profile. I ordered it with ground chicken, my usual choice, and it came slightly crispy yet juicy, paired with a generous amount of peppery Thai basil. The rich umami sauce--built from soy, oyster, and fish sauce--coated the meat well, and it was served over rice with a crispy-edged fried egg. I prefer a runnier yolk, and the dish leaned a bit salty, but the bold, spicy flavors still made it a winning combination. The pad prik king was another highlight--a vibrant "dry" curry stir-fry with an intense salty-sweet heat and a fragrant citrus aroma from shredded kaffir lime leaves. I ordered it with beef, which was coated in a thick, concentrated red curry paste without coconut milk. The result was a glossy, deeply flavorful dish with a savory, aromatic, and fiery profile. A great version of this dish strikes a balance between a sharp salty punch and a subtle underlying sweetness, and this one delivered. The green beans were bright, crisp-tender, and fresh, though I would have liked a more generous portion. The kaffir lime leaves added a fragrant, citrusy lift that cut through the richness of the curry paste. The Thai crispy pork belly (Moo Krob) has been my favorite so far. It perfectly captured the defining contrast of crispy, golden-brown skin with tender, juicy meat and rendered fat. The dish was deeply savory and aromatic, with a subtle smoky undertone that added depth. Overall, the dishes are well-balanced and vibrant, showcasing fresh ingredients, bold herbs, and contrasting textures. Each plate reflects the complexity of Thai cooking, with a thoughtful interplay of flavors. The co-owner, originally from northern Thailand, brings extensive experience from running several popular restaurants in Thailand--this being her first in the United States--and that authenticity clearly comes through in the food. Thai Taste offers a menu heavy with vegan and vegetarian options, and every dish is made to order. The space itself is small, with a handful of indoor tables, some outdoor seating along the walkway, and counter seating facing the kitchen. A small cart in the center displays imported Thai snacks like spicy cookies and peanut brittle, adding a nice cultural touch. Located in the Bulldog Plaza shopping center near Fresno State, it is an ideal spot for students and anyone looking for a quick, flavorful meal without sacrificing authenticity.

The employees are so nice and friendly and really make the space feel inviting. They also have something for everyone here, from Chinese food to Laotian food to Vietnamese and Thai food. If you want fresh vegetables, hot comforting soup, or saucy flavorful noodles, this is the place to be. (Not to mention the plethora of Asian dessert available for purchase!) I came in and was served many dishes to photograph, and each of them looked absolutely delicious. I got to try 2 things in particular: the pork belly and the orange chicken and chow mein. Let's talk about that pork belly--I just couldn't stop eating it! It was crispy on the outside skin and the perfect amount of fatty, juicy, and tender in the meat part. And if that alone was not already delicious, the SAUCE!! The sauce was acidic, fresh, and absolutely addicting. I was picking up pieces of pork belly just for the sauce! The orange chicken and chow mein was also a hit--the perfect size of chicken pieces, the right amount of sauce, and saucy, flavorful chow mein with fresh vegetables. I mean, really a treat. I also got to drink their Thai tea, and it was sweet and creamy and perfectly refreshing to finish off my big meal. The restaurant got really busy at lunch and it's so comforting to see so many people gather for great food and just relax and enjoy a meal. Not to mention, the dishes I photographed were graciously given away to customers--these owners and employees are just incredible. Parking was easy, plenty to go around. Make sure to check them out and don't skip on the pork belly!

I ordered the Thai boat special, and the "fried" pork belly was basically 99% fat, 1% disappointment--and not even fried. It tasted like pho that gave up on life. We also ordered pork belly with sticky rice... or at least we thought we did. After 40 minutes and reminding three different servers, it never came. I wasn't sure if I was dining or participating in a scavenger hunt. And the restroom? No hand soap, no paper towels--just vibes. Apparently cleanliness is optional now. This used to be my spot, but I won't be back anytime soon. Maybe I'll return when the service improves... or when my pork belly finishes its long journey back from wherever it went.

They have a large variety of noodles here, pho, thai boat noodles, khao soy, khao poon, and also tons of other thai /cambodian / lao choices. We got a thai boat noodle, khao soy, and pork belly to share. The thai boat noodle and khao soy are delicious. It was my first time ordering khao soy I thought khao soy was a curry based dish, but my noodles were a pork based broth, still yummy though! The pork belly here is huge and served hot and super crispy, miles better than any other pork belly I've tried. The thai tea had an off putting flavor, like they had made it with soy mik? instead of condensed evaporated milk? Total was $83 after tax and tip, this place is pretty hole in the wall but even hole in the wall places have to charge more now to keep up with inflation. Great fast service !

Khao soy. Soy happy.*…read more Why Khao Soy? Because Kh-ao piek and Kh-ao poon feel as standardized as ph-o, but Khao Soi seems to vary from shop to shop. Not just the spelling. Just my observation. And this was amongst the top 3 of the Khao Soys I've had. Lao Kao Soi anyway. The Th-ai version is a different dish to me. I came here Sunday evening. Things were slow. I told him the order just as he gave me the menu, and in exchange, he gave me a plate of bean sprouts and lime wedge instead. Haven't seen that for Kao Soy yet. Then came the utensils. And soon, the ginormous bowl, nay, tub, of KaSoy. The last time I saw a bowl this big in the Bay Area was decades ago in a pho house. They don't make extra larges like they used to in SF. I felt like Patrick, longing, staring with excitement and anticipation at SpongeBob's Pea-nut On-ion Sun-dae , trying to hold down the giggles and butterflies while my eyebrows are sparking. Except this Khao Soy actually SMELLS GOOD. And I still have my eyebrows. And I was not disappointed. The soup was HOTTT, with 3 Ts. The size of the bowl helped keep it that way. The surface of the lava lake was covered by the ground pork that defines Khao Soy. Completely. Just look at the picture. (I took a sip of the broth with the spoon before the picture) I promise you that I didn't go in with a camera in my hand, or point my phone as if I'm taking a video. Maybe it's the end of the day and they were feeling generous or just needed the ground pork gone. Well, I used my phone as a phone, and I didn't use the camera until this bowl came out. Just trust me. The broth was rich with notes of fermented bean paste and heavy notes of garlic, cut by the freshness of tomatoes. Heavy by the standards of a rice noodle soup. The lime helps. You might want to use an extra wedge too. Don't hold back though. There's a treasure hunt in progress. You see, within this bowl were a bunch of roast pork pieces. Quality roast pork pieces. The chicharron still very crispy when I got to each piece. (But that doesn't mean you should sin by letting the chicharron get soggy!) Seems like others have their roast pork left on top, but mine had sunk to the bottom when the Khao soy had landed. No big. This is like how won-ton noodle soups are served when you're Canto, the best stuff at the bottom. What impressed was that the roast pork was still crispy! The particular flat rice noodles used seems to be re-hydrated dried noodles. Normally a downgrade but in this case, a good move. Yes, fresh noodles carry the soup better, but in this boiling cauldron, the noodles used handled the heat much better and longer. After I had finished the noodles, the soup was still very hot, enough that I added the bean sprouts, which were still cooked to a point that they were absorbing the soup's flavor. I tried to finish the soup, but failed. Soooo close, but I have a drive to drive, and I don't want to have an accident on the way back. I don't know where the actual banos are in Los Banyos, and they're probably closed by the time I'm passing through. Now mind you, this is about as heavy as rice noodle soup will get. Take your time once you've found the chicharron. Share it if you can. Don't rush like me or you'll be burping garlic like I did rushing back to SF. If you are on a drive between SoCal and SF Bay or Sac, may I suggest taking the 99 instead of the 5? Instead of hours of just brown yellow and gas stations, you can stop at cities with proper markets. Instead of grab and go fast food or selling your kidney at Harris, why not enjoy some proper, affordable, sit-down chow in Fresno? Maybe this will open your eye to new foods as well! *(Yes. Yes. Terrible espanyol, if you can even call that Spanish, don't come at me with chanclas, pour favour!)

Chief among them is their menu, which are all authentic and hard-to-find dishes you will not get at any local Thai restaurant. The Pad Thai and Pad Kra Pow (grounded meat with Thai basil) are easily the most popular dishes, but I have also had the chance to try other dishes like Khao Kha Mu (braised pork) and Khao Man Gai (boiled chicken with ginger garlic rice). The Khao Man Gai is essentially a Thai interpretation of the Chinese dish, Hainan Chicken Rice. None of the dishes have truly impressed me so far but I appreciate they have not been very oily and overly seasoned. The dishes are a healthier, cleaner-tasting version of some of the dishes you can expect at most local dine-in restaurants. I have also not tried any of the fried and skewed meat dishes here that are usually my "cup of tea" and have deeper flavor profiles. The plates are priced appropriately for a food truck, where you will get just enough for a quick and satisfying meal. Very friendly service. I've had their pad thai and pad kra pow and they both are insanely flavorful and put respects on their roots. However, I want to talk about the dish that I've had once and its a MUST have everytime I visit. The dish I think about and crave almost every day. Moo Sam Chan Tod (999999/5): This deep fried pork belly dish checks all the boxes for me. Pork belly is one of my favorite things to go for from most Southeast Asian cuisines, and man this ones so crazy. The pork has the perfect crisp on the skin, but the meat itself is so juicy and packed with flavorful. Not a single piece was cooked even slightly off. You HAVE to get sticky rice over the steamed rice. I don't make the rules. It has a natural acidity and comes with their signature spicy sauce. Recipe for perfection. I be blacking out and suddenly im dipping the pork in the spicy sauce, the rice in the spicy sauce, straight up DRINKING the spicy sauce. I really am dedicating this review to this dish.
