I have been on a Thai food kick of late. I am not sure if I ever get off the kick but regardless I decided to get takeout from Thai Garden. As usual I went with the Pad Thai. It was very good and you got a great portion for the price. I also got the Nim Chow which I was disappointed in. Instead of using a basil leaf in it they used cilantro, which didn't give it a bad taste just not the taste I was looking for in my Nim Chow. Not the best Thai food I have had but still very good. It is on the cusp of 4 stars. They have a lunch buffet Wednesday thru Friday which I want to try. When that happens I will be sure to update my review because I will have a chance to sample a variety of dishes. read more

I went here with a friend because I was told it was good. Although I thought it was just okay, my friend thought it was decent. We got the spring roll, which was okay. They put chicken in it and some regular lettuce, so it was far from authentic and made me question the main dish before it even arrived. I got the drunken noodle, which was good and was more authentic than the spring roll, which wouldn't take much. The drunken noodle was fresh, spicy and full of flavor. I loved it. He got a curry dish that was authentic, fresh and delicious.Although it wasn't as spicy as the drunken noodle, it was worth ordering. he also got sticky rice, which we both enjoyed. All in all, the food is decent (stay away from the spring roll). I would give this place another try if I ever find myself in Woonsocket looking for cheap eats, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I love this place, which is an understatement. This place makes the best Thai food I've had. (We live in a town that has a "meh" Thai restaurant that's about three minutes away, but the 25-minute drive is more than well worth it.) My husband and I go here a lot and mostly get the same dishes whenever we go there because they are our favorites. We always get four entrees so we can have a lot of leftovers to eat the next day. The waitress knows us and is always friendly when we get there. She always gets us hot tea when when we show up - we never have to ask - and takes our order promptly. The only issue is they show movies or shows on their large TV, but with no sound. It's a little distracting, but not a huge deal. read more

This by far is one of the best kept secrets in Woonsocket. Meals are fresh and made to order. The weekday buffet (Wed., Thurs., & Fri., pre Covid-19 Crisis) has multiple choices of mouth watering, delicious foods. The prices are a bargain for the portions and quality. My family are from Laos and Thailand. This is the only place in Rhode Island that comes close to serving authentic high quality and tasty Thai and Lao dishes. They are also consistent! If you live in Providence---it's worth the 35 minute drive and is orders magnitude better than any of the decent options in metro Prov. Papaya salad is best we have had! Lao beef Jerky when available is big hit with our kids! We love everything about this place excluding the dated dining area but then again we only come here for the food! read more

We tried the lunch buffet, I think they had 16? bins with different choices, some Chinese and some Thai. The service was decent considering the one lady/owner? was covering the entire dining room. Dear Thai Garden Friggin' sweet. Love, Me That about sums up my experience mid afternoon on a lovely Christmas eve day. We were seated immediately upon stepping through the door and behold our luck the hubby & I were quite literally the only patrons in the room. (Especially awesome since this was our 1st wedding anniversary.) Service was definitely with a smile and food was fast & fresh. Of course, I ordered my usual staple of pho and nime chao with chicken while Charlie went for their bbq'ed beef and house pad thai. The summer rolls were quite excellent however the dipping sauce wasn't quite what I expected: it was like a creamy hybrid of salad dressing and sesame peanut. Pretty tasty but I'm still not sure how I feel about it with nime chao. The pho was delicious if not just a tad less sweet & a tad more salty/garlic tasting than what I'm used to. I was pretty excited to spy sirloin meatballs a'floatin in my bowl. Plenty of condiments to add (no hoisin though) and crunchy bean sprouts with herbs. While I didn't taste the pad thai, I totally went for one of Charlie's sticks of beef. And yes.. it was the highlight of the meal. Perfectly grilled with slightly charred edges, lil' bubbles of fat and -the- most amazing flavour. Ever. Unlike every other place I've tasted this, Thai Garden uses an outstanding medley of sweet, spicy and yup, curry spices. Completely unexpected but entirely worth ordering. While the interior is a bit run down and the dining area pretty small, I can overlook this as the quality of their food, friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices more than makes up for it. This is my favorite place to get take out from when I'm at work. (Way better than Pacific Asian or Vohn's.) I've never had the lunch buffet, but it seems to be popular and there are a lot of options to choose from. It's a little hole in the wall type place but the people are friendly and the food is good. Four of us came in later on a Sunday and were sat promptly. Service was fast the apps were good (crab rangoon, chicken fingers, & crispy spring rolls). They were out of several items so we were limited on what we could order. I had the PadSeeEw and it was okay, husband had salmon Choo Chee and he said it was nothing like any Choo Chee he had ever had before, and unfortunately not in a good way. The other couple we were dining with both enjoyed there curry dishes and the sticky white rice. A very fitting place to bring a few co-workers. Went here for a lunch buffet and had an enjoyable time with 5 other co-workers. The restaurant is fairly small, so call ahead if you are planning anything greater than 4 people. The buffet was quite good and the service was great. Thai Garden is insanely tasty! Their Beef pho is my ultimate favorite. I eat it about twice a week, sometimes more. It is also the best hang over cure ever! I recently had their Seafood Yum Yum and yum yum it was! Though I have tried many things on their menu and all are delicious, my go to is always the Beef pho and Vegetarian nime chow. When I'm extremely hungry I also get the Papaya salad, and the Hot Basil fried rice. This place is a diamond in the rough. I recommend everyone to try Thai Garden! I am actually eating Beef Pho and Vegetarian nime chow as I complete this review and I am so sad it is almost gone. I order one of their duck special. I wish I remember the name. But it was amazing. I'm surprised this restaurant has not received much review. I guess people do not know where the hidden gems are in Woonsocket, or Rhode Island for that matter. Thai Garden IS the best Thai restaurant in Rhode Island (matter fact, the best thai restaurant I have eaten in, and believe me, I've eaten in at least 20+ in different cities and states). GREAT food, great service every time. This restaurant also takes large orders (request ahead), people from upstate NY, CT, out of towners order here and have it delivered by family members etc during visits, because it is known as the spot for a special Laotian dish called "Larb Seen". Order what they call the "Mee Ka Tung" or "Lard Na" (same thing, just depends what language you speak). It's a blend of vegetables and flat rice noodles, with your choice of beef, chicken or seafood. I always go for the seafood. If you want soup, try there Thom Yum Seafood or Goung or whatever choice they have, (I'm a seafood guy as you can tell). Best Thom Yum I've had. Like I've said, if you're looking for authentic good thai food, come here. I also have a picky taste bud, so I'm not kidding me, I would not stare you wrong, eat here and put a smile on your face which you deserve when going to a restaurant. read more
