it is a bit disappointing. I had drunken noodles from other Thai places before and they all used wide rice noodles. I got from here and they used the same kind of noodle as pad Thai. the seasonings were not evenly stirred. some parts of the dish had strong flavor of fish oil than others, same for hot sauce. The curry dish was very plain. And it was pricy. the dishes were as expensive as Thai places in downtown Boston. (you can easily check and compare) read more

Nice little take out place for Thai. Very friendly staff and the food has been great. They don't have much of an online presence but you should be able to google a menu. They do have some great drunken noodles and other standard Thai fare. They also have some Korean dishes but I haven't tried any. There is no seating so strictly for takeout or delivery. read more

Thai 2 go is not your typical show pony. Small establishment, enough for 7 patrons... The food is made to order, I highly recommend their renowned Drunken noodles, crab ragoon, and the chicken mango- they won't disappoint! Hands down the best Thai food I've had, even beats out NYC! Went on a 8 mile hike ordered this to go was told 20-30 minutes.. 1hour and 10 minutes later I got my meal.. the crab Rangoon filling was non existent and the outside "crunchy" layer tasted like chewy cardboard. I have lived in Bangor for about a year and have not been able to find a Thai place that I absolutely love. This place is less than 15 minutes from my house so I thought I would give it a shot, I got pad Thai and crab ragoons. The pad Thai was good but not anything I would get regularly, and the ragoons tasted pretty stale and like they were made with imitation crab from hannaford. If you're looking for something quick and to grab on your way home for work I would recommend. read more

From the outside, Thai 2 Go looks like a dilapidated shack. This is a case where the appearance of the restaurant is a pretty good measure of the quality of their food. I thought the food would be fast, cheap, and good. It was neither cheap, nor good, but at least it was fast. The pad see ew was absolutely terrible. The noodles were dry and thin, instead of the traditional broad cut. It was drenched in spicy sauce, which overwhelmed everything else. I won't make the mistake of coming here again. read more

I was driving through and spotted this place. The woman who worked there couldn't have been less interested in even pretending to be welcoming. All I ordered were two thai iced teas to go and as I was waiting, a single fly buzzed around my head shortly followed by a second then third and a fourth fly. I asked the woman who was making the tea how much and she peeked around the corner to say 5 dollars and then WIPED HER NOSE WITH HER HAND as she continued to mix my teas. As she went to grab the non-dairy creamer (instead of the typical coconut milk or sweetened condensed milk) from what I then noticed was a dirty fridge, I said no thank you and walked out. The worst Thai food I have ever had! The single star is for the rice...everything else was pitiful. The red curry sauce was thin & flavorless, obviously watered down; overcooked chicken was tough & chewy; more than half of the portion was bulked up with bok choy; spring rolls that were either over cooked or re-fried, dripping with oil; and "crab" rangoon that was filled with cheese & carrots. The boyfriend and I stopped here the other night after hitting the Bangor raceway and I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the food here! Yes, it is a tiny shack, and in a mildly sketchy spot, but the food was fresh, spiced perfectly as per our directions, and delicious! Tommy and his co-worker were very personable and sweet. We ordered our food to go, but next time may eat in due to the pleasant atmosphere they created. Is it the best Thai food we have ever eaten? No, but it is in my top 10 restaurants, and we have had Thai all over Maine, Florida and California. If elegance and ambiance are a big part of what you look for in a restaurant, you may skip this one. However if delicious fresh food, no matter the setting sounds good to you, then take a chance on Thai 2 go, you won't be disappointed! read more

I'm blowing the whistle. I worked for these guys for FOUR days. This was the shortest time I have ever spent on a job. I was declined the opportunity to file taxes. I was scrubbing filth off of pans and dishes that was so thickly caked in crevices that it had most likely been there since long before I had even eaten there. When I was on call for delivery, I was not called until the food was already fully prepared. Every instant that it took me; drive to work, struggle to comprehend the manager's mediocre English language skill, finish prepping the take out bag, weave around customers to find the random spot they left the thermal delivery bag in, scramble to assemble utensils, and pull out of that dreadful parking lot onto Broadway, then negotiate traffic. By this point not only am I late, but the food is cold. I suggested that I would be more effective at executing the delivery service if they called me as the food was being prepared, having utensils properly arranged, and the thermal delivery bag was always kept in one spot out back for quick and clean deployment. He agreed (?) and told me to stay on call. The VERY NEXT call, the exact same mess happened. I made the delivery, took my stake, and then never answered their calls again. Do not go here. It is only a matter of time before they get in serious legal trouble. read more

I have been in Bangor for two months and kept driving by this shabby small hut that they called a restaurant. So I ended up going in. When I walk in there was minimal seating. This place is more of a quick carry out place. There is out side picnic tables that slightly have a view of the penobscot river. I had the sobbing princess which was one of their more spicy dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by the dish was spicy but still maintained it's flavor. It came with spicy rice and and can of coke for 15 bucks roughly. I will go back any time next I want to order their pad thai which their big seller from what the gentlemen at the front told me. read more

We've been meaning to try this out for a long time but were put off by how small and plain it looks. Don't make the same mistake that we did--park your car in their lot or on the street and go on in! The service is very friendly, and the food is a lovely surprise. As others have posted here, the owner said that if we didn't like our meals, they'd be free. We had the pad Thai and red curry, both with tofu, and a Thai iced tea (which is made with whole milk). The curry came with a generous serving of white rice. All were delicious! We were smiling throughout the meal. The prices were slightly higher than what we expected, but the portions were generous enough that we each are getting two meals out of each of our entrees. Slow, surprisingly expensive, and skimpy on the meat. Then again, this is probably the best Thai food within 100 miles. As there is only one cook, your order will take at minimum 25 minutes to complete, so call ahead. Thai 2 Go would likely be better served as a regularly cleaned food truck that parked near the waterfront (where the others are), then they could focus on speedier service and cleanliness, since it currently looks like a roach motel. kind of terrible experience. We ordered food around 7:40 and they said it took 45 minutes. After they charged my credit card. No one called me until I call them back. The manager said will call me back but he didn't. And I was keeping calling them but no one picked up. Finally the manger called me back and delivered at 9:40. Missing two Thai ice tea and all food gets cold.btw they didn't provide any chopsticks or fork for me to eat. Lol read more

The funkiest Thai take-out ever. At a busy intersection, you can only get into the place going one direction...be warned! I stopped by based on a word-of-mouth recommendation. When I stopped by the man and wife owners were having lunch in the front of the tiny little waiting/service area. While I felt like an (amused) intruder, the wife jumped up and went back into the kitchen and re-emerged pretty quickly w/my pad Thai. Pretty tasty although I don't know that it was unique...next time some world famous noodles. Go there if you're in town if for no other reason than it is so quirky cool! read more

I tried Thai 2 Go, despite its questionable outside appearance, because I was advised it was "not bad" and it is conveniently located for me. My experience was that it wasn't great either. I got the yellow curry. Flavor was decent, but the veggies were a problem. Contained mostly carrots, which were cut in irregular sizes so that some were cooked to mushiness and some were more raw. Did not have potatoes, as listed in their menu. Curries are my go-to, and I am generally not picky. Pricing seems high considering my dissatisfaction, but average for Thai food. Pluses include fast turnaround and friendly employees. I might try a different menu item in the future, to see if that dish was the problem. read more

I hadn't tried Thai food before I meet the owners Tommy and Noy, The food was excellent. I had the Drunken Noodles for the first time and they were great not to spicy . And every time I go back Tommy will fix me something great each and every time. I found the prices to be very fair and the place a little small but being it is a take-out that's good. I will be going back very often the food is fresh and good. I have been visiting Thai @ Go for more then 6 yrs now and will going for a long time to come read more

I was visiting from out of town and had a craving for Thai food. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it want really flavorful and the chicken was a pretty flat note. I also had an order of spring rolls, which were pretty good. Overall, it was kind of a let down and I wouldn't order again. read more

We took our daughter and her 2 friends here for lunch to celebrate her birthday. The place is small, but they accommodated us. The food was exceptional and fresh. The sobbing princess dish is highly recommended as is the drunken noodle. Then when we broke out the cake we had made, Tommy brought out 2 dishes of ice cream. Great food, great people.
