Edible but no..... Sorry this just isn't right. Thai chili sauce in everything making it all super sweet and not the flavors you are expecting from traditional dishes. Drunken noodles with Thai rice noodles (the kind you get in pad thai) was a good idea but the sauce was baddddd. MassamanCurry wasn't that Greta either and had like no sauce. Quality is ok though so at least it was edible but unfortunately, it was not something I wanted to actually eat and won't do it again. I can really only blame myself because I meant to order from Thai orchid knowing that it's good and ordered from here instead lol. read more

We've ordered from Thai Kitchen several times and the food seems lackluster. I find some things far sweeter than I expect, and other times the sauces don't seem to have any distinguishable flavor or spicing, they are just "there." Mostly we find the food just "meh." If we are with a group that wants to order from Thai Kitchen, we do so, but we much prefer the other Thai restaurant (Thai Orchid) in town (which also has table service and an outstanding bartender/cocktails). read more

I gotta bring some harsh reality to light here: This place kinda sucks. Like I understand that it's the closest Thai food place to a college campus but that doesn't make it GOOD. staff was very nice, but we were very unhappy with our food. the crab Rangoon's tasted off, and the pad Thai didn't taste the best. the noodles were very soggy and the chicken seemed to be soggy as well. we were unable to get past 3 bites. the food was packaged well and we got all that we ordered, but the price didn't match the quality. read more

Let me start by saying that what everyone likes in Asian food is very subjective. The food, for us, was too sweet to enjoy. The Tom Yum soup was sweet. The Pad Thai was sweet. The Papaya salad was sweet. Perhaps Thai Kitchen has learned that their clientele enjoy sweet thai food. In either case, we did not enjoy our food. On top of the sweetness issue, the Papaya Salad was dripping and soggy in its own sauce, the Pad Thai seemed sad and limp, and didn't come with any limes. Have been getting Thai Kitchen delivered for three years and everyone has always enjoyed their meals. Their crab rangoons are the best I have ever had so far! Thai Kitchen is my favorite Thai Restaurant in the northeast and its great that this restaurant was right near where I went to college! A year ago I relocated to Boston for work and being the Thai food fan I am I searched out the best Thai restaurants in the Boston area with the help of fellow Yelpers and Zagat and I have been unable to find anything to match Thai Kitchen in terms of price, quality, and authenticity. Every time I come through the Orono area I am sure to stop at Thai Kitchen and grab anything on the menu but my favorite is the Crispy Chicken Hot Basil with "Authentic Thai Spice!" I have tried most everything on the menu and the curries are the the best I can find anywhere. If you have a craving for Thai food in the Bangor area you must try this place! I couldn't wait to Yelp about this take out kitchen. I'm here from out of time and with the help of Yelp I chose to get lunch here, based on the positive reviews. There are about eight lunch specials but they will modify for vegetarians so I ended up with tofu green curry stir-fry, richly spiced and oh so good! There were both warm and cold spring rolls and 2 yummy dipping sauces. My food was prepared lovingly in about 12 minutes, and the sweet young woman at the counter chatted and smiled brightly which made it seem like a quick 2 minute wait. I found the nearby park by the river and ate under the shade at a picnic table. LIFE IS GOOD in Orono Maine in July with a belly full of Thai! read more

I tried this place after reading reviews on Yelp and I'm extremely disappointed. We ordered the pork pad si ew and the chicken broccoli stir fry, both very bland and they even got our order wrong because they gave us chicken in both. This is surprising because previous reviews claim this is the tastiest thai food around. The pad si ew tasted like wet cardboard and the stir fry had an extremely watered down oyster sauce taste. So hopefully for their sake, someone new forgot to season our food and this is an isolated incident. We ended up throwing it away and eating a banana and easy mac cup. My husband and I tried Thai Kitchen tonight after reading the two reviews here, and we are glad we did. It is hard to find good Thai food in the greater Bangor area, and the ones we have tried do not taste authentic and are inconsistent in taste and quality of food. We tried the Crispy Chicken Hot Basil from Thai Kitchen, and it was delicious. Great flavor, just the right amount of heat, and a generous portion for the price. We also had some fresh Thai rolls, which were standard and yummy. This is a take-out only place, and it was bright and very clean inside. Staff was friendly and the wait was reasonable. Great food, really quick delivery. $1 delivery fee, the cheapest around. We ordered the appetizer combo, which was okay but nothing exceptional. The yellow curry with scallops which was amazing, the potatoes and squash especially. I will be ordering yellow curried veggies regardless of what else we try next time. The show stopper was the sweet sticky rice with mango. My husband and I split one order and we both wanted more! The only thing that I wish were different: labels on the sauces would have helped us a lot. Our take out came with 7 different containers of sauces and liquids. We could clearly identify a few (coconut milk, peanut sauce, sweet and sour), the rest were a complete loss to us. We just rolled with it and dipped items in whatever we wanted, but some guidance would have been helpful. We will be ordering again! read more
