Not your run of the mill thai place. They have the top 10, but also some very good dishes of their own, including Jungle Curry with string beans, eggplant, bamboo shoots and your choice of protein. Not like other curries, more soupy, but very tasty. Their Tom Ka Gai, chicken satay, and pad thai are standouts. Very flavorful. This is the best Thai food I've discovered on the Midcoast, but I'll keep you posted if I find better. Great local restaurant with very pleasant hosts and a spacious dining room. I'm used to really great Thai food in CT. So this review might be quite bias. First, service was friendly and ambiance was nice and quiet. But food was just okay. Their shrimp shumai and chives dumpling were not homemade, sold at Asian markets frozen... and can microwave or steam it.. not happy about that. But okay. The crispy duck was tasty and was not spicy at all, the menu says spicy. The shiitake blossom ( veggie stir fry was good but way overpriced for greens and the small portion was insufficient ) for $16.. come on. And the pork peppercorn dish was misleading, it was made of green curry with no peppercorns at all and not even a hint of spiciness, might as well call it Thai green curry. Food was not bad, but not authentic. It's Americanized Thai... quite disappointed honestly. But I understand that they have to cater to the taste of the population they're serving food who are not used to authentic spices and heat. Nothing bad to say about the service or temp of food. It was late when we called in about 10 minutes before closing and due to discrepancies between actual hours and yelp / google listed hours we waited to long. I had wonton soup, scallion pancakes and crispy duck. Everything was just ok, the crispy duck was flavorful but not at all crispy. This is likely due to take out only. Luckily I ordered a side of garlic chili sauce to add flavor and kick to the soup and duck. J had the chicken fried rice, again bland and just ok flavor wise but temp served was fine. We were staying at Samoset and just wanted something quick to take to the room. I would choose differently under our circumstances but do recommend a try if you are wanting Asian. My one complaint is the price; rice is an extra charged at $2.50 extra, even for stir fry dishes that almost can't be eaten without rice! $16.95 for chicken basil (reasonable portion) then extra $2.50 for rice makes this a $19.45 plate! Got stuck in a hotel due to weather and needed supper. The parking lot here smelled amazing even before I entered and the staff were very friendly. Got spring rolls, chicken wings and Siam Duck to go. I was not a fan of the wings (overly breaded, kind of bland and made a terrible mess) but the spring rolls were amazing and there were a TON of them! I ate very little of the duck since I needed leftovers for lunch the next day and the spring rolls filled me up on their own. My leftovers were delicious. So why not five stars? I mentioned several times that I was staying in a hotel, yet they did not provide silverware, plate or napkins. The Siam Duck was very sauce-heavy, not well packed and leaked all through the bag and my hotel mini-fridge. While I was waiting someone called in to place an order and was told it would be 30 minutes for their food. There was a pause, and then the hostess looked around the almost-empty dining room and announced "yes, I'm very sorry but we are really busy right now." I was in the area for a conference and was pleased to find this Thai offering close by. We showed up about 25 minutes before their closing time and we were greeted with a warm smile from the host/server. The place looks like it used to be a Pizza Hut or some other converted fast food place but the decor inside it definitely something unique and different. They had a wide selection of options and since I hadn't eaten much all day, I did my fair share of menu sampling. The Tom Yum soup at $4.50 per bowl was very flavorful and delicious. I could barely share any of it with my dining companion. Thai soup can do the trick on a cool and wet New England day. The edamame appetizer was delicious and a great way to get in some additional green veggies. I was pleased to find a small section of vegetarian entrees on the menu, which is always nice to see and much appreciated. I selected the rainbow tofu entree (around $12.95) that came with tofu, of course, mushrooms, and the colorful rainbow of other veggies in a brown sauce. There hardly was anything left after I was done with it and it was a generous portion size! I was very satisfied with my meal and would definitely recommend that you try this small family run place. Both times we tried dining here we had to wait an excessive amount of time just to order at times when the place wasn't even busy. The first time we went we waited 20 minutes without ever being greeted at our table or offered drinks so we left without ordering. The second time we visited (yesterday) we waited 10 minutes until the owner finally came over and said there will be about a 45 minute wait to get our food. We always go down to Rockland for Father's Day weekend for a sail and the Solstice celebration, but the restaurants downtown are always so crazy and busy, that we decided to get in the car and explore other spots. Roselyn was conveniently on the way to our hotel and an absolute gem. The interior was comfortable and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. My sister ordered two orders of spring rolls for the table to share, and she pronounced them the best she'd had. I got the basil tofu, which was appropriately spicy but also fresh and delicious. The tofu was flash-fried, and when mixed with the sauce created wonderful pockets of pure flavor. All of the food was served quickly, hot and fresh.
