I've passed by Thai Delight quite a few times on my travels and decided to give it a try. It's legit! I love Thai food but you wonder if this little place is going to turn out your favorite dishes. Sure it's easy to dismiss it because it's sort of out of place in a historic community but the locals must like it and the bigger city locals must too. It's hung in there for quite some time. After Mexican food, we headed to Thai Delight. The restaurant used to be a house so architecturally it's very interesting. We started with the Miso Soup made with a mushroom broth. The soup has a few scallions floating around and is quite salty. Nothing too special with the soup, actually pretty standard. Next, we had the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp at a Medium Thai spice level, which was pretty tame. I honestly didn't feel it at all. Pretty good dish, not overly doused with sauce. Again, just a smidge overly salted. The shrimp were my favorite part. Overall, a decent Thai place. I'm pretty spoiled in Houston so this was sub par. Our first visit right after the noon "lunch rush." We were greeted by friendly staff who promptly wiped down our table, placed our menus, brought our water ... and then disappeared. Husband had to flag down a waiter (not our original - who was a waitress), who tended our table throughout the meal, despite ours *not* being in his section. This waiter was cordial, prompt, and efficient ... unlike his coworkers, who all seemed lost in thought. IT CAN'T BE JUST ONE PERSON TENDING TO CUSTOMERS. Our entrees arrived fresh and hot. We've never had Thai food before, so can't compare with prior experiences. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal (Drunken Noodles). I had the same, found the rice noodles especially delicious. The banana caramel cake for desert was a perfect ending. We will return. read more

I've eaten here a couple dozen times, probably 75% of those times I got the same thing - the Panang curry. But let me tell you, as a huge fan of Thai, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese ... this is one of the best curries I've ever had, and I've tried it in both 'hot' and 'Thai hot'. Thai hot was good but after that I backed down to just 'hot'. The flavor of this curry, which comes with zucchini, bell pepper, and your choice of meat (I've had tofu & chicken), is just fabulous. I did ask the waitress this time how the red & green curries compare to the Panang, and in her opinion the Panang is the best, with the green being the next-best, so I'll have to try it next time for variety. read more

We came in with 45 minutes to close, we ordered appetizers and didn't get any plates for them. Our salads never came, and then when we received our food our orders were wrong. Went there with my homies and we waited an hour to NOT even get our food. I was sooo pissed. We came in before two other groups and somehow they got their food first, like whaaaaat ??? We searched for vegetarian options in Mesilla and came up with Thai Delight in Organ. I searched again and found that a new restaurant had been opened in Mesilla, apparently run by the same people. When we first saw the menu I saw absolutely no vegetarian options, but when we asked the waitress we were told the entrees could be made with tofu (there is no mention of tofu on the menu). I ordered my favorite, Green Curry, and my partner ordered his favorite, Pad Thai. We were both very pleased. The flavors were really delicious. I will say the Green Curry was quite spicy. The waitress told us it was always hot (no mild, medium or hot options). I still really enjoyed it, but I am experiencing some discomfort in my stomach afterwards. My partner's Pad Thai was also delicious. There are some other options that looked very good that I think we'll be happy to drive from El Paso to try next time. The atmosphere was very casual, a little loud, but not unpleasant. We enjoyed a small salad with our entrees served with a tasty ginger dressing that they make. Overall a good experience. We just got back from a Mexico trip and wanted our first meal from the states to be something besides Mexican food, so when I saw a Thai place I was thrilled! As we were parking we saw out the front window what looked like 4-5 girls all sitting up at the front chairs with drinks and their phones. As we walked in it turned out to be the waitresses (Non of them were Thai btw). A girl told us we could sit anywhere and that they would bring a menu out to us. We chose our table and a few seconds later our waitress came to bring us menus and take drink order. My daughter ordered a Thai tea and she brought out a child's size cup but charged us for a full size. We ordered the spring rolls which seemed to be the only vegetarian appetizer option. And they were pretty tasty, the sauce was delivered in a plastic cup though and I typically like the peanut sauce over the plum sauces for my spring rolls. The menu was very much lacking in vegetarian options. Most of the soups were chicken based instead of coconut or veggie based. The miso soup however was mushroom based and was delicious! We ordered the 1stir fried vegetables-medium spicy with the miso soup 2cashew nut something (I can't remember the name)-medium spicy with salad and ginger dressing. We were planning on splitting our meals with my daughter however she decided last minute she wanted noodles instead of rice (typical 3 yr old) so we asked for the drunken noodles and broccoli. She never asked if we wanted soup or salad, which I ended up inquiring about a little later and she showed her annoyance with the question however brought out another salad with the ginger sauce. The two rice dishes were bland and came with an extremely mushy rice. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it could be because it was 7:15pm when we came in to eat but still was not enjoyable for me. Luckily once the drunken noodle dish came out it was a very redeemable dish although lacking in the broccoli. My husband's water cup was empty half way through our dining trip and was never refilled nor was my hot water (or my daughter's full priced child size Thai tea). Very quick to bring the check and slide the card and not much a friendly attitude throughout our dining experience. The price was a bit more pricey than your typical Thai place and ordered a lot smaller portion sizes. Next time we take this trip we will for sure pass this place and never look back. read more

This is perhaps the worse Thai food I ever had. I ordered the Thai Basil and there was hardly any vegetables and there was no Basil and no flavor to the food. There was so much oil in the bottom of the dish that the food that was left was inedible. The Miso soup tasted like something out of a box. My wife had beef salad and half the meat was non chewable with a few tiny vegetables with no flavor.This meal (if you want to call it that) cost $31.00, I honestly feel ripped off. My buddy who is world traveled (drew), told me that the true test of a thai place is the larb, so i gave it a try. The sexy german who was our waitress asked how spicy i wanted it, loving spicy foods i asked for spicy, BIG MISTAKE! Man was it hott. so hot that i was literally drpping sweat. Coming from Seattle, where amazing Thai food abounds, I was surprised to even find a Thai restaurant. My husband and I have been craving something besides Mexican, so we were excited. However, my excitement quickly dwindled. The food is just okay. The menu is fairly small, so I decided I'd try out their Sweet and Sour with chicken, whereas my husband tried their Pad Thai. My Sweet and Sour came out cold, which made it apparent that they don't actually cook the meat and sauce together, but just throw it together and flash heat it in a pan. It wasn't very flavorful and the veggies were just as crisp as when they were cut. The Pad Thai wasn't impressive, and also cold, with a strange tangy aftertaste that just didn't seem right. I also wished they would have brought out separate plates so I didn't have to heap the rice onto of the Sweet and Sour in order to eat it. The ambiance someone talked about doesn't actually exist thanks to the gigantic flat screen TV in the dining area. It was an annoying distraction, and something I would have expected in a bar, not a Thai restaurant. I wasn't impressed and I'll more than likely try a different Thai restaurant next time the craving hits. read more

I'm a fan of Thai food for a long as I can remember... provided that I'm from the Socal with hundreds of Thai Restuarants there, I must admit, the Tom Yum Gai was perfect! Luv luv luved it! If I wanted to starve my boss who was working over time, I would have licked off every oz of the soup. The best I've ever had. And different too... I've never had celery in my Tom Yum Gai. It gave it a nice kick to the taste. Not to mention, the small cut tomatoes and also the mushrooms, great move as I was able to fill up my spoon with a variety of goodness. I was thinking of giving this place a 4 stars, but because my soup was so yummy, I'll give them full credit for it, also because the service was superb. Very friendly waitresses and always making sure each and every customer were enjoying their meals. Also, provided that there was an Asian man walking around making sure the customers were happy, I'm assuming he was the owner! Thank you sir! I would have wanted to order more! Again... had to pick up my boss so that he could finally eat dinner. So, that night... I had two dinners! ;P If I find myself in town again... Started with the spring rolls, really just Romaine in overly wet rice paper with only a sweet sauce in a little plastic to go cup, cut sushi style, thought we should leave after that experience but wanted to give it a try for the main course. I had the drunken noodles, tasted pretty good but the tofu was cut in miniature pieces. My wife and kids all had pad Thai, normally a safe bet but man it was loaded with sugar and very little flavor except for strong fish sauce. read more
