What was good: the Panang Curry was very flavorful with complex curry paste and peanut flavor that was palate enriching and satisfying. It was a little more spicy than what I would typically expect for a mild curry but very good. The interior of the restaurant was also very nice and surprising considering the restaurant is about 20 minutes from Las Cruces in an underdeveloped area near the mountains. What was disappointing: My Pad Thai was rather bland with only one real flavor note. I typically expect more tamarind flavor which usually gives that sweet, sour, and salty flavor that just wasn't present in the dish. If anything, it almost tasted like tomatoes were part of the sauce. I asked for some lime which made it better but this dish was a big no for me. Also, the mango sticky rice was kind of bland unlike the thicker, tongue velveting texture you expect. The server actually said that the person who typically makes the mango sticky rice was not working when we were there. Service: This was also a bit frustrating. They seemed understaffed but the dining room wasn't that big. Maybe four or five tables being served. We waited about ten minutes for our drink order after getting the menu and then longer to take our order. The food came out about ten minutes later but our server didn't check on us for refills or to see if we needed anything. We asked for the mango sticky rice to come out with our meal but it didn't arrive until almost 15 minutes after we finished our food. The server was kind enough to give a small discount on the sticky rice because it took so long (which we appreciated). In the end, I wanted to give this restaurant a three out of five but the quality of the food and delays in service were just too much in the end. I'll try some of the other Thai restaurants around town next time.

I remember when this place was DGs deli, back in the olden days, and it has really been stripped down. At one point during the cooking there was a huge puff of oily smoke that made one of the four of us have to go outside to get some fresh air. The food was better than I feared it might be. The two diners who had Pho really enjoyed it and their fried egg rolls. My husband wolfed down his entire plate of tofu pad thai. Why was the pad thai orange colored, an orange never seen in nature? I don't know. I had chicken pad thai. In retrospect, the tofu would have been a safer choice. Because even though the chicken was very thinly sliced, I got a few bites that seemed a drop undercooked. You know that yikes-this-is-chicken-sushi flavor? That. So I just ate around the chicken and hoped for the best. The entire front end of the restaurant is run by one middle-aged man who works the register and serves as the waiter and busboy too. Honestly, I was surprised at how everything I tried was hot and fresh. I love chicken dishes and tried the General Tso's and spicy Chicken. Absolutely loved both. Once again a nice surprise. The one thing with the ramen it was bland, I got the hot chili oil and soy sauce to add and it was great. I did not try the hibachi but saw several people who did and they appear to really enjoy it. Also tried the sushi (I don't like seafood) but they had 3 vegetarian options that were wonderful. I would recommend giving this place a try. They had so many options that I could not try. Definitely going again!

We got the Teriyaki Chicken, BBQ Pork, the last dish was chicken with veggies - there are a few flavor options for this, such as Bourbon Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, etc. I got the Kung Pao. The food was pretty good. However, the chicken in the Kung Pao was kinda gross. It looked like it had been chewed and put back in there. Taste was "off". The Kung Pao is supposed to have some "heat" (flavor) to it, though it wasn't hot at all. Which was fine. We chose to get the meal without any added sauces. And everything was really good without sauce! The reason we do this is 1) Keto diet (sugar) and 2) (possibility of) MSG. Although, I don't think, from what we had, which was grilled with sauce, that there is MSG in their sauces. If so, very little. I can taste MSG, and I didn't taste it. The meats (except the Kung Pao) had a nice grill char to them which enhanced their flavor. We chose this place for lunch knowing that it was cafeteria style (dished/served by the employees) particularly, because one has only so much time for lunch when they are working. So it worked out very well. Very fast, with hardly any wait at all. I saw that one person who reviewed was upset with the cafeteria style service... I'm not sure what his qualm was. It isn't like random people are breathing on the food. It is the same people that cook it, so what is the problem.. And yes, food is served in styrofoam containers with plasticware. It IS a "fast food" Chinese restaurant afterall. Is it my favorite Chinese place in town. No. At least not at this time. Would we go back? Absolutely!

I called them up to order per their instructions on their post and promptly got lost thinking that they were where all the food trucks congregated but they were past the traffic circle near a random ditch. Not sure why since the country club location was well lit and poppin'. They texted me when my order was ready and told me they were closing soon but were kind enough to wait for me. The chicken pad thai was $10.50 with tax, CASH only. I must say my expectations were low but this plate blew me away. I wasn't worried that it wasn't as fresh since I was 20 mins late picking up, as this dish gets better with time to mix and soak all the sauce. The past few pad thai dishes I've had were made at home and the sauce from a bottle since I really didn't want to do the whole rigamarole of soaking tamarinds to make it as authentic as possible. The bottled sauces are wayyy too sugary and so the dish leans sweet. This plate is not sweet, but the flavors of this dish are centered around a sweet-savory fusion. Salty, nutty, slightly sweet tamarind sauce, the thin rice noodles soaked up the sauce and mixed with cubed chicken, green onions, egg, bean sprouts, and roasted ground peanuts and served with a lime wedge. It's definitely not as funky or fermented as the ones I had in Thailand, but it can stand on it's own where I worked in L.A.'s Thai town. I'm a huge fan and I can see myself already hunting down this truck in the future. They have a limited menu and I look forward to trying out the rest of the food. I let hubby have a bite and he was like wow this is really good...then I shut him down by saying he should go get himself some next time.
