Great spot for Thai food! I met my boyfriend here for lunch today and really enjoyed it. I ordered the shrimp pad thai (medium) and was immediately surprised by how much we both liked it. The sweet & spicy flavor from the sauce was very well-incorporated into the noodles, and there were a good amount of shrimp included. The only thing I would change would be for the overall flavor of the dish to be a bit stronger. I feel like chili powder or oil would go really well with this one. Also, I really like when places include extra vegetables on top. I plan to be back here in the future to satisfy my pad thai craving! Wow. This is legit Pad Thai. I was looking for noodles and saw on social media that the Thai Grub truck was on the Westside off Country Club and Westside. I called them up to order per their instructions on their post and promptly got lost thinking that they were where all the food trucks congregated but they were past the traffic circle near a random ditch. Not sure why since the country club location was well lit and poppin'. They texted me when my order was ready and told me they were closing soon but were kind enough to wait for me. The chicken pad thai was $10.50 with tax, CASH only. I must say my expectations were low but this plate blew me away. I wasn't worried that it wasn't as fresh since I was 20 mins late picking up, as this dish gets better with time to mix and soak all the sauce. The past few pad thai dishes I've had were made at home and the sauce from a bottle since I really didn't want to do the whole rigamarole of soaking tamarinds to make it as authentic as possible. The bottled sauces are wayyy too sugary and so the dish leans sweet. This plate is not sweet, but the flavors of this dish are centered around a sweet-savory fusion. Salty, nutty, slightly sweet tamarind sauce, the thin rice noodles soaked up the sauce and mixed with cubed chicken, green onions, egg, bean sprouts, and roasted ground peanuts and served with a lime wedge. It's definitely not as funky or fermented as the ones I had in Thailand, but it can stand on it's own where I worked in L.A.'s Thai town. I'm a huge fan and I can see myself already hunting down this truck in the future. They have a limited menu and I look forward to trying out the rest of the food. This is a welcome addition to food choices among local restaurants and food trucks. A small, yet quality selection of Thai noodle dishes are on the food truck menu. Pad Thai and other items use genuine Thai herbs and spices, unlike so many of the other so-called "Thai" restaurants locally. All the dishes sampled were flavorful and priced right. One recommendation: a single order can be divided between two people unless you, personally, have an immense appetite. I'm a big fan of food trucks and Thai food so I'm not sure what angel dropped Thai Grub in my neck of the woods, but for that I'm ever in their debt. This food truck has been on my radar for months because unfortunately for me, I'm also a fan of almost every type of cuisine I've come across and I only ever see TG at different food truck events meaning there are too many options, too numerous to mention. But finally... I just decided I needed to make a beeline for TG. I'm not sure if the options really change out that often because the posted menu seemed pretty permanent (or at least not something they're changing out daily). I can pretty much live off of Thai curry so I was ecstatic to see they have a Red Curry with rice. My better half ordered Pad Thai and I added a tea to my order. I ended up eating my PICs Pad Thai because it wasn't his jam. Both the curry and the Pad Thai were wonderful flavor explosions in my mouth! But the curry was very thin and the Pad Thai was a tinge too greasy/watery. That being said, I would still order the curry again. And it may be important to some (if you're not familiar with Thai food) that TG serves up some spicy eats... even ordering both dishes mild put off a lot of heat and had I not had the Thai tea, I would've been sweating. So tasty! Thai Tuesdays in the university medical center is my favorite day of the week! Such a great food truck with amazing chicken pad thai! The employees are super nice and it's super convient to be able to text them (915-588-3636) in the morning, and they always have it ready for pickup at noon. The serving size is huge for the price! Out of all the food trucks we've experienced thus far in El Paso, this one sticks out the most for me. Though not the best quality thai food, they definitely do some justice for cooking fast food thai out of a truck. It started off for me with their pad thai at a food truck show down recently. Let me tell ya, they know how to feed the crowd! I paid 9 bux for a mountain of pad thai with chicken! You can add another protein such as beef or shrimp for another 2 bucks only and man do they make sure to add it right! Not just a onesie or twosie type of extra shrimp, but a handful! They aren't deveined shrimp tho so for you germaphobia folks, be fore warned! I gave them my vote that day for the showdown since my husband ordered from a BBQ truck for some brisket tacos, about 9 bux as well. Sad, sad lil tacos to ever exist. For 4, COLD brisket tacos, you get this oddly long, shredded brisket with some shredded white cheese. I think Thai Grub definitely pulls thru by a mile there! Alas, even though the Grub satisfies your hunger, their flavors and quality were lacking a bit compared to Tara Thai/thai chef cafe. Their pad thai jus was lacking in flavor with a less savory, more sweet n sour kind of flavor. And their chicken was slightly dry, probably from being pre-cut into cubes and chilled. The curry was also severly watery in texture. Still delicious but threw me off. I especially loved how much shredded carrots and chopped onions and bamboo shoots they throw in! They serve up so much food, its always good for another lunch the next day. Thai tea was also a tad watered down tasting, as if the tea needs more steeping. Watch out for their spicyness! I ordered the mildest but when they make their curry, it will set you on fire still! Thank God for my thai tea to help cool it down some. I am a student at Texas Tech Health Science Center I have been getting lunch at Thai Grub every Tuesday because they are always parked between my school and University Medical Center. I always order through text and have my meal ready to go when I swing by their food truck. They are really nice and easy to order from. The pad thai and fried rice is to die for. I've never been to a food truck in El Paso before but after work I was starving and so I decided to check this place out. I throughly enjoy Thai food so my choice was Thai Grub. The menu was very simplistic with only a few options. I decided to go with the Pad Thai noodles and a Thai iced tea. I honestly did not expect much however I was gravely mistaken. The noodles were extraordinary. They were topped with crushed peanuts and they had cilantro, a really good sauce drenched all over it, and lime on the side. I couldn't even wait until I got home and so I started eating in the car. The portion is massive and well worth the price. The iced tea was another thing I had low expectations for. Thai tea is one of my favorite drinks and when I drank Thai Grubs version I immediately fell in love. The flavors were all there and the freshness of it went perfectly with the greasy (in a good way) noodles! I can't wait to come back and try the curry and other options. Really love this place and am eternally grateful they set up shop so close to my home. While not offering a huge menu, the food is legit and the flavor profile is wonderful. I found this gem while walking around downtown. It stood out from all the basic things you always see (burgers,hot dogs, tacos). My first round was the drunken noodles with chicken. I was never a big fan of peanuts on my noodles but you all converted me. The lime served with them was a perfect compliment. The second time I had the fried rice with shrimp and the chicken red curry. The fried rice was good. I felt it was missing sesame seeds. Last, was the red curry. When the food trucks come to my neighborhood, I tend to frequent certain ones and ignore others. I saw one yesterday that added to my frequent list: Thai Grub. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. For $9, I definitely got my moneys worth. The container was full and had a good amount of shrimp. I asked for extra well done shrimp, and they definitely complied with that. The flavours of this dish had most of what makes Thai food so cravable. It had sweet, spicy, salty and earthy. The only thing I would've added is a splash of lime at the end to bring a sour flavor and complete the tour. Next time, I plan on trying the red curry and see how their Thai tea is! read more

It was my 2nd time trying their food. food is delicious and flavorful but I was very disappointed that I paid extra for shrimp pad thai and there was only like 5 pcs of shrimp and the rest is noodles. Same goes with their red curry- it's almost carrots shreds swimming in sauce and just garnish of chicken cubes. Not very impress with that. But like I said food is very flavorful. For a food truck, the quality of their food is phenomenal. I've had the pleasure of trying their pad Thai and their drunken noodles and I can honestly say both could go toe to toe with the dishes at sit down restaurants. Their portions are gigantic; for 9 dollars you can get a huge styrofoam container of noodles that can feed two people or last for two meals. They let you customize the level of heat (I challenge you to go hot, it's not for the faint hearted) and choose a protein, chicken or shrimp, for each dish. They keep their menu simple, with noodle dishes, stir fry with a side of white rice, and fried rice dishes, and every order is made to order, which is absolutely crazy. They sell out of food frequently, so that just goes to show the level of quality they're producing with their food. I've had a bad track record with food truck, either they give you too little food or the quality just isn't there. Thai Grub is not one of those; they produce a high quality product at a suitable price point that keep customers coming back for more. read more

Love this food truck. Love the food, people are very friendly and the food never disappoints. They are not greedy with the amount of pork chicken or shrimp or the plate you order for that matter. My husband and I are long time patrons and we often seek out this truck all over the el paso area. Awesome food every time. Large portions. Pad Thai and Shrimp Lo Mein are our go to items, but we haven't tried anything we don't like. Food is made quickly and tastes great with tons of flavor the way Thai food is supposed to be. Sauces are flavorful and not just sugary food colored syrups. Meat portions are also generous. The shrimp are large and cooked perfectly. Chicken is sliced and also cooked just right to where it soaks up the flavor and sauce in the meal. Veggies and green onions add flavor, texture, and color. If you are looking for something different than the usual food truck fare and want a great meal with lots of flavor, generous portions at a reasonable prices. Thai Grub is sure to satisfy. I just noticed this truck in the Title Max parking lot on Mesa & Remcon Circle near I-10. I tried the Pad Thai and the Red Curry, it was delicious! We had a choice of different meats or shrimp to include and it was great. Spicy or not? well I'm a Mexi-Can so of course I said spicey. It could have been spicier for my taste but it was very good. Wether it is a fine establishment a whole in the wall or a food truck, I'll try it all in the quest for good food and support of the locals who have a passion for food and are trying to make a living out of it. I am especially glad for the growing good truck industry taking place in our neck of the woods. With this said, I was excited to find Thai Grub's truck parked near the Outlet Mall. I approached the lonely truck to find a picture menu with some typical Thai offerings around the city like the good old Pad Thai.... My eye however immediately locked on a picture of a Banh Mi ( a Thai sandwich sort of speak). A polite young man offered to take my order and promised all his food was fresh made... When I asked what kind of Banh Mi where offered I was faced with my first dissolution...."we don't really have those" he said. He said he just did not have the "manpower". But promised the rest would be great (may I suggest for you to take it off the menu then?). I ordered the shrimp Pad Thai (8+1 more for shrimp) the chicken pan fried noodles (8) and a Thai Tea (3). I received my Thai Tea while I waited for my order and it had me a first sip. A delicious milky and sweet icy-concoction was what I held in my hand. I have tried my fair share of Thai Teas in my travels and this was actually pretty good. I immediately got excited for what was to come as I heard my meal being prepared. If the tea was any indication for the meal I was in for a "sweet" surprise. I received my order and opened up the first container... I discovered a heaping amount of Pad Thai... Unfortunately, they were swimming, yes, swimming in a pool of red sauce that was spicy but otherwise devoid of flavor. The noodles were cooked well and the shrimp were plentiful (definitely got my dollar's worth in quantity at least rhoubut it lacked the freshness and vibrancy of scallions ( only a few soggy ones joined the soaking noodles) and the depth of flavor of a well made Pad Thai sauce. I suspect that either the sauce was bad to begin with or someone forgot to drain the noodles before applying sauce. My only other hope rested in container number two, The Pan fried noodles. The amount of noodles again was plentiful and well cooked but the glisten of grease copiously covering each noodle left me yet again disappointed. Furthermore, the chicken part if the dish seamed to be MIA. What little chicken was there, was indeed well seasoned and juicy. I really want it to love your food Thai Grub.... But it was just not good. Perhaps I'll give you another chance if inly on the merit of your tea..... But for goodness sakes you can't call yourself a Thai place and not have a killer Pad Thai or fresh Banh mi. read more
