We both wanted to try their food since it's hard to find Thai establishments out here in El Paso. I'm from SoCal and there were plenty of options where I lived. Flame Thai is a pretty big restaurant when you walk in. They have plenty of seating for their customers which is nice. The decor is very sparse and two out of the 3 tv screens up at the front were not working. They allowed us to pick where we wanted to sit and we chose one of the booths. Right away I noticed part of the crown molding on the wall was missing. The overall visual appeal of the restaurant could use some tlc or a whole new revamp. For the positives: our waiter was friendly and attentive. He came to check up on us a couple times throughout our meal which was nice. Their Thai tea came in pretty big glasses and tasted good! Tasted like the bottled Thai tea I used to get from the market. I did like their crab Rangoon for appetizer, it was fried perfectly and the sauce for dipping was tasty! I also ordered the red curry and requested extra curry sauce. The portion was huge and enough for two people. They also got the spice level perfectly. The negatives were the beef bowl my husband ordered. He said it was very bland and had virtually no flavor. It also looked more like a salad bowl with how much lettuce they filled it with. The biggest disappointment was their pad Thai. That is one of my favorite Thai dishes and they managed to mess it up. For some reason it tasted more like sweet and sour noodles rather than pad Thai. I did not taste any fish sauce at all in the dish. It make me think of orange chicken sauce mixed with rice noodles. Not very tasty at all and I was left disappointed. Pad Thai is one of the most common dishes you find at Thai restaurants so I'm not sure how they managed to screw it up so badly. Lastly, the price of everything was over $80. Which both my husband and I did not think was worth the quality of food we got. Very expensive for subpar dishes. Not even the crab Rangoon or red curry could make it worth the price. We most likely would not return but I'm glad the whole meal wasn't a busy. They had a couple decent dishes but the ones they messed up just couldn't justify the price paid.

We've been a few times with 4 people which is a great size to bring here. The waitresses are very kind and helpful. They make all their sauces in house and everything we've ordered has been great. I prefer it to the other Vietnamese spots in the area. I really enjoyed the spicy dishes. I wish they made things a little hotter but I understand not wanting to blow anyone's tastebuds out with spice. I will come back - can't wait to try the oxtail next time I'm in town.

We got there and were promptly seated and greeted by Salma, our server. Place wasn't crazy packed and the ambiance was nice. We started with the pork belly Spring rolls and they were delicious, fat and fresh and the peanut sauce was so good. I just added some chili sauce to the peanut sauce and it was perfect. My wife ordered the Chicken Rice Bowl and I ordered the All Meat Pho. My wife's plate arrived and it was a good sized portion and she said it was delicious. My pho arrived and it was a large bowl full of meat and the added bean sprouts, jalapeños and cilantro were just the touch needed. The broth was delicious, clean and very nice. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and plan on returning. Great service, great ambiance and decent prices, can't go wrong.

Great spot for Thai food! I met my boyfriend here for lunch today and really enjoyed it…read more I ordered the shrimp pad thai (medium) and was immediately surprised by how much we both liked it. The sweet & spicy flavor from the sauce was very well-incorporated into the noodles, and there were a good amount of shrimp included. The only thing I would change would be for the overall flavor of the dish to be a bit stronger. I feel like chili powder or oil would go really well with this one. Also, I really like when places include extra vegetables on top. I plan to be back here in the future to satisfy my pad thai craving! I would also really like to see what else is on their menu & try the fried rice.

Wow. This is legit Pad Thai. I was looking for noodles and saw on social media that the Thai Grub…read moretruck was on the Westside off Country Club and Westside. I called them up to order per their instructions on their post and promptly got lost thinking that they were where all the food trucks congregated but they were past the traffic circle near a random ditch. Not sure why since the country club location was well lit and poppin'. They texted me when my order was ready and told me they were closing soon but were kind enough to wait for me. The chicken pad thai was $10.50 with tax, CASH only. I must say my expectations were low but this plate blew me away. I wasn't worried that it wasn't as fresh since I was 20 mins late picking up, as this dish gets better with time to mix and soak all the sauce. The past few pad thai dishes I've had were made at home and the sauce from a bottle since I really didn't want to do the whole rigamarole of soaking tamarinds to make it as authentic as possible. The bottled sauces are wayyy too sugary and so the dish leans sweet. This plate is not sweet, but the flavors of this dish are centered around a sweet-savory fusion. Salty, nutty, slightly sweet tamarind sauce, the thin rice noodles soaked up the sauce and mixed with cubed chicken, green onions, egg, bean sprouts, and roasted ground peanuts and served with a lime wedge. It's definitely not as funky or fermented as the ones I had in Thailand, but it can stand on it's own where I worked in L.A.'s Thai town. I'm a huge fan and I can see myself already hunting down this truck in the future. They have a limited menu and I look forward to trying out the rest of the food. I let hubby have a bite and he was like wow this is really good...then I shut him down by saying he should go get himself some next time. Their dipping sauce was like no other, light, fresh, spicy but not over powering with hints of lime, chile, fish sauce and rice vinegar. Now it is so watered down that it almost has no taste at all. The spring rolls are mostly rice Noodles and my last order had just one shrimp in the middle. My spring roll fell apart as soon as I picked it up. I also ordered Pad Thai. There were huge chunks of chicken which I needed to cut in order to eat without choking. There were a few small shrimp and no Tofu to be found. They used to top it with green scallions and they were also missing. What was missing most, was flavor. It was barely coated with any sauce so it just tasted like rice noodles. I hate complaining and posting a bad review for what used to be my favorite Thai restaurant, but this is the third time my food was less than appetizing. Last two times I ordered Cashew Chicken, and both times the cashews were so badly burnt that it made the dish inedible. I haven't seen the owner at the restaurant so maybe it's under different management, but I have tried to give it a second and even third chance, but I am done. I will miss the old Singapore Cafe food!

We looked at the entrees and decided to try it out. I went for the one entree plate and I got steamed white rice with a side of grilled chicken. The chicken tasted pretty good and the rice was decently cooked. I got a regular sized drink as well and my total was about $7.50. The tables were all pretty dirty and looked as if they needed a little love. The leather from the seats were all pretty much torn and they definitely needed love. Everything needs love and some deep cleaning. Oh and maybe less tables since it seemed so crowded and more lighting! I felt like I needed to whip out my flashlight! I'm still not sure what to think about this place. It was a love hate experience. This was definitely no Thai food though, it was definitely your typical small chain cheap Chinese food restaurant.

It appears to be privately owned so I wish they would put more heart into this place (both the food and the environment) because I love eating at places that are local or family owned, but in this case not so much. While at the mall with my boyfriend we realized we were a little hungry so thought it would be nice to stop and grab something quick and easy. We weren't feeling like McDonald's or Subway and neither of us had every been to RTK so we gave it a go. Contrary to the name, Ruby Thai Kitchen doesn't serve Thai food. That's pretty disappointing. The food available is Americanized Chinese food. My boyfriend went with some plate or other, but almost every single one of their protein options were made with chicken... not so appealing to me that day (and after trying whatever my boyfriend got I'm glad I didn't settle for any of them). The other options didn't look that great to me so I figured I'd just get a couple of egg rolls. Unfortunately these were the worst egg rolls I've ever had. It tasted like ALL cabbage and the cabbage tasted old. The outside had been fried, but it wasn't good and not really crisp either (maybe sitting around too long... maybe previously frozen and cooked at a low temperature). I added a ton of soy sauce and a spicy sauce that was available at the front which still wasn't enough to make it appetizing. I ended up throwing away the majority. The inside of RTK is a little dingy. Tables are pretty close together and congested. They could've put in a little more work to open this place, nice tables, better lighting, wall decorations. There was just nothing appealing about this experience. Even the staff made me feel a little uneasy, like I was inconveniencing them in some way... like okay fine, I'll make my own food, you go relax kind of way.
