We had a wonderful experience at Tara Thai. Our server Issac was very attentive and offered great recommendations. Food was delicious! The restaurant was clean and very peaceful when we arrived. Parking is kinda ruff but other than that it's a place we look forward to visiting again. read more

I think it's cause this is a smaller town, but the pad Thai and curry dish took an hour to come to our table. The soup was the first dish and it was yummy. We got everything low or no spice, but I felt for the pad Thai and curry dish it needed more flavors. Wasn't terrible, but probably wouldn't come back read more

We were delighted to return and find food and service at a high level. We'd had an "uh-oh" here several months ago when the service led us to question the value. All was good this Saturday night visit. Without hovering, service led us through drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert all done well. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food speaks for itself. The staff was welcoming when I walked in. It was surprisingly expensive, compared to what I am used to. It was $47 for Beef Pad Thai and two appetizers (cheese wontons, egg rolls). I placed the order to go, it took a little while to get my food, total with call ahead about 35 mins. The pad Thai was really good. It didn't have the color I was used too but it was flavorful and a pretty good size portion. The egg rolls and wontons were a perfect compliment. I would definitely recommend! read more

It's completely ok to charge $19 for a soup, but at least make it authentic. Service was good, server was sweet, environment is cute, quiet. Didn't try other food, but the soup definitely disappointed. read more

Good food, very disjointed service with good atmosphere. I ordered what I always do at any Thai place, chicken pad thai (hot....or so they said), thai tea and egg rolls. The food had good flavor, however they do not know how to cook thai hot, their version of thai hot is what I would consider medium. The service was one waiter running around like crazy at first and then after a while a second waitress who was splitting her time cooking and attending to tables which explains why it took 30 minutes to get entrees. Good little spot, but far from the best I've had. read more

Greta service and a great menu. The food came out and our 3 dishes were all amazing. Not sure why only 3.5 stars. 4.5 stars for sure!!

If you are looking for AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS Thai food, this is the BEST El Paso has to offer. If you are looking to experience quality Thai dishes, look no further; the chef is from Thailand, and she brings the taste from The Land of 1,000 Smiles right to your table. The service is superb and the staff makes you feel like family. One of the waitresses, Dream, is from Thailand and she will give you quality service that you would expect from her homeland. If you need advice on what to order, let Dream be your guide. They are known for thier Pad Thai, which I love, but my ultimate favorite is the Thai Street Style Chicken Basil; also, substitute the chicken for ground pork and you won't be disappointed. To finish off your meal, try the mango sticky rice for dessert, If you ever wanted to visit Thailand, this wonderful restaurant is your quick ticket to Thai quality food and excellent Thai service. Enjoy!! UPDATE: Just tried a new dish that Chef will be putting on their menu, soon. For you seafood lovers, try a native Thai favorite: Pad Pong Karee (Stir-Fried Seafood with Curry Powder). This dish has shrimp, calamari, mussels and plenty of vegetables that combines savory, spicy, and aromatic, making it a classic favorite in Thailand. It was absolutely delicious. If seafood is not your cup of tea, try asking for chicken or pork, instead. I bet Chef will not disappoint you. The service, like always, is top tier. If you have any question on this dish or any other Thai dishes, ask Dream. Not only is she from Thailand, but she will also show you what Thai hospitality is all about. Tara Thai not only offers delicious and authentic Thai food, but they also offer quality service that will make your dining experience a pleasant one that you will want to go back and experience, again. read more

Nice little hole in the wall. The food was delicious, I would definitely order again. Restaurant is old and looks a little beat up. Kinda scared to see what's in back, but just pray over your food. Service was just okay. The waitress accidentally spilled a drink on my husband that got all on the table, and then said she'll be back to clean it up. Lol...funny, not funny. She was nice and trying, but she had a lot going on. Speaking of drinks... If you're not a fan of the Thai drinks order the fresh squeezed limeade. That was bomb! The sprite was flat and warm like the machine was broken or something...so we graciously sent it back. Yuck. Parking lot is tight and old like the restaurant. Make sure you don't park in the adjacent lot near Papa John's or you'll risk being towed. I haven't had any good Thai food in YEARS, since my days in San Diego. This hit the spot! So good! I seen some folks picking up to-go orders. Might be the thing to do! I like spicy but medium was enough for me. We tried hit in the side and baybeeee...listen, nah. Took away from the flavor of the dish for me. We're coming back, just not dining in! read more

Food was outstanding. My wife loves their soups and their chicken pad see ew was fantastic. Friendly, professional staff and great interior make this a great place to dine in. Biggest drawback is the parking. Be ready for tight spaces, especially on busy days. read more

What can I say....the reviews are 100% correct. The food here is delicious and the staff is very attentive. They come back quite often to check on you. This is surely a spot you won't regret dining at. read more

This is a friendly place to get Thai food. We've been here several times over the years and surprised I never left a comment. The atmosphere is great as well as the service. Also, there are several tables to grab a seat. Then the Thai food is the best you can get in El Paso. They have Masan, panang, karee, leaw warn curry and various fried rice and noodle dishes. Then if you love Thai iced tea they also provide this drink which I strongly recommend. It's sweet but a different kind of sweet. The parking can be tight but I haven't had an ossie getting a parking spot. Just make sure you park on the Tara Thai side and not the Rib Hut side. $They also provide a military discount as well. read more

The only downside to this place is the service takes a little bit of time but the food comes out nicely. I ordered the street chicken, the wrapped shrimp and the banana for dessert. I enjoyed it a lot. They do play jazz music which is a bit random but still good. The overall vibe is nice here. read more

Really wanted to love this place. It is one of very few Thai restaurants in the area so I'll give it props for adding more flavors to the community. Service is long..... takes a long time to order and to get the food onto the table even as the first customers at opening. Servers are doing their best in trying to keep up with their tables and phones but they're making mistakes as they're moving so fast. Maybe don't seat everyone even if there's tables if the servers and chefs can't keep up? Allow customers to be aware of longer wait times for food and service. Small shared parking lot but plenty of parking since all of the parking lines are closer to each other read more

This is not your traditional Thai restaurant if you are a Thai connoisseur, but it is still amazing. I think there are only a handful in the area of El Paso and I selected this one due to the size of the restaurant. Ally was working the entire restaurant on her own, and she did an incredible job. She is very pleasant and clearly loves to work here. I ordered the Thai tea, chicken Pad See Ew, chicken satay, Tom Yum, and a side order of white rice. The pad see ewe used a slightly different size noodle compared to the larger noodle, but it was still great. The Tom yum was not the traditional style with chili paste, but again, it was still great. Overall, I was pleased with this restaurant and the ambiance is great for having a good dinner with friends and family. read more

This is a hole in the wall joint. The outside is very unassuming and parking is limited. Inside it is a cute, clean joint filled with old timey music. We were the only people there at 6:30 pm but more people came in after a while. Service was friendly and consistent. We ordered the eggs rolls ($7), Thai lettuce wrap($8), the panang curry($15) and the pad Thai ($15). To start, the appetizers were tasty but small portions for the price. The egg rolls are made in-house. Then we had the panang curry and pad Thai and they were both delicious! I ordered the curry with medium spicy and I would highly recommend that so you get the extra spicy kick. It was a smaller portion than I thought it would be. Most Thai places I've been they serve the curry with a side of rice but this one they served with it on the plate, which reduced the overall amount. I ended up finishing the curry, which I can never do at other Thai restaurants. The pad Thai though was more than enough and was delicious! Overall I would recommend this place because the food is delicious. I give it 4 stars because the food was slow to come out even though we were the only people there at the time and the prices are a little high for the portion size. Overall fun hole in the wall with delicious food! Update: Went back and the food is delicious as always. But when we were there I wanted to sit next to my pregnant wife so I pulled a table over so we could sit side by side. We were then told by the staff that we couldn't do that and they waited by our table for us to move the table back. We stayed and ate and were literally the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there. My recommendation, do a to go order if you want to eat here and don't eat in. For the staff treatment towards my wife and I, I have to change my rating to one star. read more

This was probably by far an unexpected really good Thai food place in El Paso. I was recommended to this restaurant by my friend who lived here. It's a relatively decent sized place. Parking is very limited so carpooling would be recommended. + Food quality was great; good amount of portions for its price and had a variety of dishes that worked for everyone in my group. I got the Panang Curry with no spice and it was really good. It didn't taste that greasy or oily which I usually get from curries so I was very happy eating it. - food service was really slow; we waited for a good 30 minutes at least and felt even more agitated that the other tables who arrived after us got their food before us. Perhaps having more staff members would help because we felt bad for our waitress who was also serving 3-4 other tables by herself. It would be worth it since they do get business. Overall, I'd still come back (if I ever visit El Paso again) but I'd probably ask how long to expect the food to arrive so you're not taken by surprise and wait too long in case you have something to do afterwards. read more

Worse service...wait time to get served almost 2 hrs!!! They seem to prioritize take out orders over people in the restaurant!

I have to start this review with my favorite part of this place which is the fact that they can make almost any dish into a vegan or vegetarian one. That was a huge plus for me and couldn't wait to see all the options that opened up to me upon hearing this from the friendly waitress. The curry I had was under Thai Hot but I didn't pick up on any spicy flavor. It was still good and the tofu was way softer than other tofu curry I have had before. Something new to me but I still prefer when it's more cooked. The parking in this place can get a bit packed fast because it's not the biggest. Just a heads up on that one if you're coming in several vehicles. Not a bad place to check out at all. Provecho! read more

Tara those used to be so good. Idk what happened. The price has also gone way up, and is ridiculous. We paid $10 for a coconut sticky rice thats diameter was smaller than 4 inches. Not to mention the sticky rice was way too sweet. In total we paid $57 dollars for 2 meals and the sticky rice. read more

It could be that our Thai food standards have gotten too high, but we didn't feel like our dinner here was a great value. We ordered from Tara Thai with friends earlier this week and chose the pad thai with chicken as our entree. Overall, the dish had a bland, mild peanut flavor and wasn't "saucy" at all. The noodles themselves were pretty colorless and bland as well. The chicken was about average, although the texture was slightly tough. We really like it when there are lots of fresh vegetables, but there was not a ton of chicken or veggies included - mostly bland noodles. This was also the most expensive pad thai we've ever had, which further lowered the value for us. We will most likely stick with other Thai restaurants in the area or try a different dish in the future! read more

Will never come here again!! I have never had Thai food so I was told the pad Thai was good.. I got it and it was so sweet and tasted like the chicken was bad.. I told the waitress she was nice I told her I did not like it. She asked if I wanted to take it home (why if I said I don't like it) so when check comes $99 I asked why I got charged for something I did not like. I won't be coming here again as the owner made the call to charge me!! Horrible!! read more

First off, the food is here is great. The service however, is consistently unreliable and parking is horrendous. My wife and I have ordered here many times. Waiting times for food seem to be increasing as I have already been sitting here for 1.5 hrs waiting on my order that they stated would take an hour. The parking lot is also shared with the business next door and towing companies sit outside waiting for you to parking in a neighboring lot. *Establish a pick-up spot for orders and start making things right with loyal customers who are burdened by the ineptness here. read more

I have been to Tara Thai kitchen one time only and during Luch. The lunch menu has reasonable prices and great dishes, such as Curry Fried Rice,Spring Rolls,Drunken Noodles. The spring roll with the clear rice wrap was very fresh, but not very flavorful, the only flavor came from the peanut sauce, which was okay, but not delicious. The curry fried rice was the most flavorful fem all the dishes we ordered. It is apparent that the plates are cooked to order and they come to the table nice and hot, which is definitely a plus!! Sorry, but I did not take photos this time read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I foolishly called in my order without knowing the price. I ordered the crispy basil chicken, and I have to admit that the flavor was on point. Five stars for that Thai basil flavor - I want the recipe! But unfortunately, it's ridiculously overpriced. For $20 I'm expecting more.
