We had a wonderful experience today visiting Tara Thai. This wa sour first time here and our server Isacc was very attentive, offered great recommendations, and was very friendly. Food was very tasty. We can't wait to visit again. Loves how open the restauranta seating was and it wasn't to loud.

It's completely ok to charge $19 for a soup, but at least make it authentic. Service was good, server was sweet, environment is cute, quiet. Didn't try other food, but the soup definitely disappointed.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food speaks for itself. The staff was welcoming when I walked in. It was surprisingly expensive, compared to what I am used to. It was $47 for Beef Pad Thai and two appetizers (cheese wontons, egg rolls). I placed the order to go, it took a little while to get my food, total with call ahead about 35 mins. The pad Thai was really good. It didn't have the color I was used too but it was flavorful and a pretty good size portion. The egg rolls and wontons were a perfect compliment. I would definitely recommend!

Good food, very disjointed service with good atmosphere. I ordered what I always do at any Thai place, chicken pad thai (hot....or so they said), thai tea and egg rolls. The food had good flavor, however they do not know how to cook thai hot, their version of thai hot is what I would consider medium. The service was one waiter running around like crazy at first and then after a while a second waitress who was splitting her time cooking and attending to tables which explains why it took 30 minutes to get entrees. Good little spot, but far from the best I've had.

Nice little hole in the wall. The food was delicious, I would definitely order again. Restaurant is old and looks a little beat up. Kinda scared to see what's in back, but just pray over your food. Service was just okay. The waitress accidentally spilled a drink on my husband that got all on the table, and then said she'll be back to clean it up. Lol...funny, not funny. She was nice and trying, but she had a lot going on. Speaking of drinks... If you're not a fan of the Thai drinks order the fresh squeezed limeade. That was bomb! The sprite was flat and warm like the machine was broken or something...so we graciously sent it back. Yuck. Parking lot is tight and old like the restaurant. Make sure you don't park in the adjacent lot near Papa John's or you'll risk being towed. I haven't had any good Thai food in YEARS, since my days in San Diego. This hit the spot! So good! I seen some folks picking up to-go orders. Might be the thing to do! I like spicy but medium was enough for me. We tried hit in the side and baybeeee...listen, nah. Took away from the flavor of the dish for me. We're coming back, just not dining in!

What can I say....the reviews are 100% correct. The food here is delicious and the staff is very attentive. They come back quite often to check on you. I really enjoyed our ground chicken basil chicken dish and the drunken noodles. Those drunken noodles were unbelievably delicious. I can't wait to visit them again in the future. This is surely a spot you won't regret dining at.

It's a hit and miss with this place. The moment I thought hey their food got better I get a disorienting experience. But the big elephant in the room is, selling pad se ew and using fettuccine noodles in it Are you using angel hair pasta for your pad Thai too? (scowl face) Who are you fooling Tara Thai? I am so disappointed in you

This is a friendly place to get Thai food. We've been here several times over the years and surprised I never left a comment. The atmosphere is great as well as the service. Also, there are several tables to grab a seat. Then the Thai food is the best you can get in El Paso. They have Masan, panang, karee, leaw warn curry and various fried rice and noodle dishes. Then if you love Thai iced tea they also provide this drink which I strongly recommend. It's sweet but a different kind of sweet. The parking can be tight but I haven't had an ossie getting a parking spot. Just make sure you park on the Tara Thai side and not the Rib Hut side. $They also provide a military discount as well.

The only downside to this place is the service takes a little bit of time but the food comes out nicely. I ordered the street chicken, the wrapped shrimp and the banana for dessert. I enjoyed it a lot. They do play jazz music which is a bit random but still good. The overall vibe is nice here.

We both wanted to try their food since it's hard to find Thai establishments out here in El Paso. I'm from SoCal and there were plenty of options where I lived. Flame Thai is a pretty big restaurant when you walk in. They have plenty of seating for their customers which is nice. The decor is very sparse and two out of the 3 tv screens up at the front were not working. They allowed us to pick where we wanted to sit and we chose one of the booths. Right away I noticed part of the crown molding on the wall was missing. The overall visual appeal of the restaurant could use some tlc or a whole new revamp. For the positives: our waiter was friendly and attentive. He came to check up on us a couple times throughout our meal which was nice. Their Thai tea came in pretty big glasses and tasted good! Tasted like the bottled Thai tea I used to get from the market. I did like their crab Rangoon for appetizer, it was fried perfectly and the sauce for dipping was tasty! I also ordered the red curry and requested extra curry sauce. The portion was huge and enough for two people. They also got the spice level perfectly. The negatives were the beef bowl my husband ordered. He said it was very bland and had virtually no flavor. It also looked more like a salad bowl with how much lettuce they filled it with. The biggest disappointment was their pad Thai. That is one of my favorite Thai dishes and they managed to mess it up. For some reason it tasted more like sweet and sour noodles rather than pad Thai. I did not taste any fish sauce at all in the dish. It make me think of orange chicken sauce mixed with rice noodles. Not very tasty at all and I was left disappointed. Pad Thai is one of the most common dishes you find at Thai restaurants so I'm not sure how they managed to screw it up so badly. Lastly, the price of everything was over $80. Which both my husband and I did not think was worth the quality of food we got. Very expensive for subpar dishes. Not even the crab Rangoon or red curry could make it worth the price. We most likely would not return but I'm glad the whole meal wasn't a busy. They had a couple decent dishes but the ones they messed up just couldn't justify the price paid.

The sweet & spicy flavor from the sauce was very well-incorporated into the noodles, and there were a good amount of shrimp included. I called them up to order per their instructions on their post and promptly got lost thinking that they were where all the food trucks congregated but they were past the traffic circle near a random ditch. Not sure why since the country club location was well lit and poppin'. They texted me when my order was ready and told me they were closing soon but were kind enough to wait for me. The chicken pad thai was $10.50 with tax, CASH only. I must say my expectations were low but this plate blew me away. I wasn't worried that it wasn't as fresh since I was 20 mins late picking up, as this dish gets better with time to mix and soak all the sauce. The past few pad thai dishes I've had were made at home and the sauce from a bottle since I really didn't want to do the whole rigamarole of soaking tamarinds to make it as authentic as possible. The bottled sauces are wayyy too sugary and so the dish leans sweet. This plate is not sweet, but the flavors of this dish are centered around a sweet-savory fusion. Salty, nutty, slightly sweet tamarind sauce, the thin rice noodles soaked up the sauce and mixed with cubed chicken, green onions, egg, bean sprouts, and roasted ground peanuts and served with a lime wedge. It's definitely not as funky or fermented as the ones I had in Thailand, but it can stand on it's own where I worked in L.A.'s Thai town. I'm a huge fan and I can see myself already hunting down this truck in the future. They have a limited menu and I look forward to trying out the rest of the food. I let hubby have a bite and he was like wow this is really good...then I shut him down by saying he should go get himself some next time. There were huge chunks of chicken which I needed to cut in order to eat without choking. There were a few small shrimp and no Tofu to be found. They used to top it with green scallions and they were also missing. What was missing most, was flavor. It was barely coated with any sauce so it just tasted like rice noodles. The Thai Spring Rolls were perfectly crisp, filled with fresh vegetables, and served with a flavorful dipping sauce. The Papaya Salad was a standout--refreshing, crunchy, and bursting with bright flavors, especially when paired with the heat of Thai bird chili. The Tofu Fry was a great appetizer, lightly fried to golden perfection, with a satisfying crunch and a soft, delicate interior. For mains, we enjoyed the Minced Chicken Salad (Larb), which was packed with zesty lime, fresh herbs, and a kick of spice--so authentic and well-balanced! The Pad See Ew was another highlight, featuring perfectly stir-fried flat noodles coated in a rich, savory sauce, complemented by tender chicken. The Pad Thai with shrimp was just as impressive, striking the right balance of sweet, tangy, and nutty flavors. To round out the meal, the Mango Sorbet Sticky Rice was the perfect dessert--sweet, creamy, and refreshing. It appears to be privately owned so I wish they would put more heart into this place (both the food and the environment) because I love eating at places that are local or family owned, but in this case not so much. While at the mall with my boyfriend we realized we were a little hungry so thought it would be nice to stop and grab something quick and easy. We weren't feeling like McDonald's or Subway and neither of us had every been to RTK so we gave it a go. Contrary to the name, Ruby Thai Kitchen doesn't serve Thai food. That's pretty disappointing. The food available is Americanized Chinese food. My boyfriend went with some plate or other, but almost every single one of their protein options were made with chicken... not so appealing to me that day (and after trying whatever my boyfriend got I'm glad I didn't settle for any of them). The other options didn't look that great to me so I figured I'd just get a couple of egg rolls. Unfortunately these were the worst egg rolls I've ever had. It tasted like ALL cabbage and the cabbage tasted old. The outside had been fried, but it wasn't good and not really crisp either (maybe sitting around too long... maybe previously frozen and cooked at a low temperature). I added a ton of soy sauce and a spicy sauce that was available at the front which still wasn't enough to make it appetizing. I ended up throwing away the majority. The inside of RTK is a little dingy. Tables are pretty close together and congested. They could've put in a little more work to open this place, nice tables, better lighting, wall decorations. There was just nothing appealing about this experience. Even the staff made me feel a little uneasy, like I was inconveniencing them in some way... like okay fine, I'll make my own food, you go relax kind of way.
