We were driving through from Texas back to California and asked the hotel for dinner recommendations. We decided to try the Thai recommendation. They were located a two minute drive from the hotel. When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty empty, and since it was during Superbowl we thought it would stay that way. We were wrong. There was a party in the back and tables in the dining room started filling up. We were greeted immediately and then drink orders were taken. I ordered the Thai Tea with 1/2 and 1/2 (vs coconut milk) and hubby had the ice tea with coconut. My drink came with a refill (unheard of for Thai Tea) and he had unlimited refills. For dinner he ordered the Ma Sa Man Curry with rice and salad, and I had the Pad Thai. We both enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was knowledgeable and delightful. The dinner for two was extremely reasonable, less than what we pay at home for a lunch special for two. Highly recommend! read more

Our son, who used to live here came from Rio Rancho to visit us for a couple of days. He is a foodie who enjoys dining out where he lives and goes to Santa Fe every weekend to one of the many restaurants options. On his short visit, he wanted to go back to Renoo's but it was closed on Sunday so we came here. My wife had their Tom Kha Gai $8.50 that it's her favorite dish in Thai restaurants. Our son had the Stir Fried Basil dish with veggies and chicken. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with vegetables and tofu. Both dishes were $13.50 and they offer a side salad or miso soup. We both choose the miso soup. The food was delicious as always. The main course was a nice size. However, my wife mentioned that in the past the Tom Kha Gai soup was served in a larger bowl. My son and I ordered Chai Thai Tea, my son with half and half and I had it with Coconut Milk at $4 with refills. The server Christina was outstanding! We were glad we went there. read more

I had a wonderful dining experience at Thai Delight in Mesilla. I started with the shrimp rolls, which were fresh and flavorful. For my main dishes, we enjoyed green curry with shrimp, larb, and stir-fried garlic--each dish was perfectly prepared, full of authentic flavor, and generously portioned. All meals came with rice, and everything was absolutely delicious. My server, Jahney, provided attentive and friendly service, making sure I was well taken care of throughout my visit. The good first: Generous portions, reasonable prices, fresh ingredients The not-so-good: Not so authentic they have their own versions. Interesting. More fish sauce in everything for my tastes. Rice noodles were not soaked/cooked enough. Next time I will order medium spice instead of mild. I've been burned (no pun intended) before at Thai restaurants that medium Thai is more like hot anywhere else. So I was cautious. Haven't tried the soup yet that's how generous their portions are. The chicken satay needs to marinate longer and where is the cucumber relish that always is served with chicken satay? The peanut sauce would benefit from some red curry paste and a dash of fish sauce. I got exactly 3 shrimp for an extra $2.50 in my phad Thai lol! First time eating here. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai. The food came out quickly and the service was okay, but unfortunately the flavors didn't quite deliver. The Pad See Ew was overly salty yet still lacked depth. The Tom Yum Goong, which I usually expect to be bold and vibrant, came out rather flat. The Pad Thai was much too oily and needed more flavor for balance. They do a good business so people seem to like their food. Las Cruces is not known of authentic foreign cuisine so many likely have never tasted authentic Thai food. It's truly remarkable. That said, Thai Delight has indeed improved over the years without quite nailing it. It does remind me of Thai food but without the true exotic flavors. You will get a tasty, filling meal and likely will return, but it is not true Thai. One warning... on the heat scale - mild to hot. Every dish is made mild - then when a customer asks for medium, hot or Thai hot the adjust the heat lever by adding chili oil (Sambal Olek) to increase the heat. You would never see that in real Thai food because chili oil swamps out whatever delicate flavors there are in the dish. If you like HOT order mild and take a few dry packets of chili peppers with you and adjust yourself. The oil kills the dish. Would still recommend the place. read more

What happened to Thai Delight? The food is so different. Portion for 13.50 felt really skimpy. I had mixed veggies with tofu. Hardly any tofu which is so inexpensive. None of the employees seemed happy, the place was clean and my friend had some good mango sticky rice but it was made with frozen mango. They are in the stores for like .50 a piece. Nice fresh vegetables and lovely sauces. I've heard it referred to as American Thai. They are most compassionate with the heat level choice and I usually order hot so that I can taste that it intends to be hot, but is in no way disturbing. Absolutely a shame , great food awful customer service. When you have to ask 3 times, we are ready to order, and no one takes our order is time to go! The place had a table of 7 and our table of 2 ,the table of 7 was not ready to order but because they were seated first I guess we had to wait for the party of 7 to order before taking any orders . We made a choice of leaving after being ignored for 3rd time ( the house was NOT BUSY). Again, only a total of 9 customers, the table of 7 and our table of 2. As we left, I offered to pay for our drinks. The rude ass owner got offended and did not even look up and said, "You don't need to pay for your drinks." As we are leaving, this lady that looks like a homeless dishwasher runs out to the parking lot and says, "Are you paying for your tab? " No crazy lady, check with your boss! The spring rolls are presented differently than what I usually have had...they were already cut with piece of chicken per piece. I wanted yellow curry so they gave me a curry meal similar to it and with rice. I mentioned to my server that the potatoes needed to be cooked longer. Miso soup delicious! Loved the Thai tea! The establishment is okay and the service is good, however the food is subpar. For one, there are mainly two Thai restaurants in las cruces, this and renoo's Thai. The portions here are much less than that of renoo's. Not entirely sure why but renoo I always get full but the Thai here I always end of hungry a few hours later. It has been one of my favorite places to go to when in town. The spices are on point and the portions are decent. The chai is so delicious I wish it was bottomless. I would stay there for days! Admittedly, I spent considerable years in the Pacific Northwest with excellent Thai food, so I may be prejudiced. That said, Thai Delight, I find to be so so. I can't say the flavors are wonderful. Even their Chicken Satay leaves a lot to be desired. It was dry and the peanut sauce missing the mark. Wish the New Mexico would move more into the foodie group with greater diversity. Penang curry is our FAVORITE here. Perfect for vegans in town or visiting, almost everything on the menu can be made vegan but make sure you're clear on specifying and don't just sub on your own as some dishes have ingredients like fish sauce not listed on the menu that can be left out. They have also been so amazing as to remake/replace an entire takeout that was misscomunicated on my end and didn't come vegan but vegetarian the first time.
