Recently stayed at the Amora Hotel on Bridge Road, Richmond with the family and my wife felt like Thai. With 2 kids under 3 years of age you don't want to have walk to far so according to Yelp the Thai Corner was the nearest, only 800 metres.
When we arrived, the place was empty which gave us a few moments of indecision before we bit the bullet and went in. The a/c was on 16 degrees so the jackets stayed on while we ordered but it steadily rose to 27 and jackets and beanies were discarded.
The service was prompt as you would expect being the only dine-in customers. Entree was Spring Rolls which were average but something for the kids. This was followed by Chicken Pad Thai which was sensational, it was very tasty and one of the better Pad Thai's I've experienced, so much so I quickly ordered another one. The chicken cashew stir fry was ok with a nice flavour and freshness.
Next was the prawn in satay sauce which was a first for the group and a nice change from having them cooked in honey. This is a good dish for those who want a big dose of veggies. It was pretty hard to find the prawns to be honest. Finally, we had the beef in oyster sauce, but I would recommend you do without this one and try something else from the menu.
Overall the food was good and the service was authentic, almost felt like we could have been eating on a corner in Khao San Road, but we had trams going by not tuk tuks. read more
