This is the best Thai food in town. I ordered southern thai sour curry and stir fried chicken...delicious and affordable food.

Delicious, fresh Thai food in a contemporary setting with friendly staff. We both had the calamari…read moreentree which was delicious and shared a serve of vegie spring rolls. For mains my friend had the lamb shank Massam curry which he loved and I had a delicious seafood green curry and a serve with rice. Three entrees, 2 mains, 1 serve of rice, 2 Singha beers and a coke cost $107. I'll be back. (Oh and I peeked inside the kitchen and it was so clean!)

The layout of Sabai is bright and welcoming with the seating available on both the first and second floor of the building. Run by a husband and wife team (both trained chef's) the service at Sabai is very attentive and you can tell the produce used in all dishes is of a high quality. Now to the food, Sabai has some great lunch specials for $12 with two favourites being the house fried rice with prawns and free range eggs and the red curry beef with snake beans and steamed rice. A big highlight with the fried rice is that they use fresh (and decent sized) prawns, which is something or a rarity these days in a good fried rice. In terms of beers the selection is small, but the essential Singha beer is present and something which should be paired with any good Thai meal. For desert a big thumbs up for the coconut ice cream, which came in a very generous serving size and with a great taste and texture. Overall a great meal and one would have to say the best Thai in Richmond, can't wait to come back for dinner.

It was around 7:30pm on a Thursday and we were easily able to grab a seat inside, though the colourful courtyard out the back was full. The wait staff were incredibly friendly throughout our meal, very attentive without being annoying and clearly cared about what they were serving, which is always so nice to see. We started with Betel Leaf with prawn, Roast Duck Bao and, of course, Son in Law eggs. All three were incredible dishes and the perfect two-bite size for an appetizer (though we did feel the Betel Leaf was just a squidge too small.) You absolutely MUST have the Son in Law eggs - they are a truly delectable mash of flavours that you will talk about for weeks after. Wow. For mains we had Chicken with Cashew and Twice Cooked Crispy Pork Belly with a serve of rice to share. While we both looked at the dishes and thought "Hmm, quite small" we were VERY full by the end. I think cheaper Thai restaurants have ruined me with their oversized portions, so when I get a good size it seems tiny. Moral of the story: You will be full, you will be satisfied, you will be telling everyone you know about this place because the food is INCREDIBLE. So. Much. Flavour.
