It's one of those spots you could easily drive right past if you weren't looking for it. Almost looks like a house from the outside, but inside it's a cozy, welcoming vibe. We went during lunch and took advantage of their $12.95 specials--great value. I had the basil fried rice with pork, which had a nice level of spice--flavorful and delicious without being overpowering. It came with a spring roll and a lemon tea, which was perfect--not overly sweet. My wife ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp--loaded with peppers and onions, super flavorful, and cooked just right. She paired it with a Thai iced tea, which was also on point. Food came out quickly, served hot, and the presentation was clean. Nice little touch with the cucumbers served alongside the fried rice. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to--next time for dinner. They reopen at 4:30, and I've got my eye on those Bangkok wings. Owner was mad cool too. read more

OMG. Delicious food! We had the chive dumplings (succulent and crispy) and the crispy vegetables (HUGE portion of veggie tempura-the kale was incredible). My daughter had the beef short rib ramen, and I had the Khao Soi Ramen with short rib. They give so much tender short rib. I didn't even care about the meat because the broth was one of the most delicious curries I've ever had. They checked on spice levels to make sure I'd enjoy (I have an insane love for heat) and gave us their homemade chilli oil and powder on the side. We also had a Thai iced tea, which was perfect because it was balanced rather than sickeningly sweet. Service was friendly and quick. We ate in the store, which has a few tables. They were doing a bustling takeout, but it wasn't noisy and it is nicely decorated and clean. Will be ordering again and again and again. I already ate some of my leftovers. So happy to find a really good Thai spot in the area! A few weeks ago, our team at work ordered lunch from Thai Cookery to bring back to the office. We placed the order from their website (which uses Beyond Menu fyi). Here's what we ordered: - Pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp - Pad Thai with chicken - Massaman curry with tofu and egg (this was me - it was so good and hit the spot!) - Chive dumpling appetizer to share (the sauce that goes with it really makes the app) - Thai iced teas I drove over to pick up. There is both street parking and a few spots in the private lot in the back of the restaurant. It's a small space, but there are a few tables if you wanted to have a casual meal solo or with another person. The person behind the register was friendly to everyone inside the eatery. He had packed our order and offered napkins and a cup holder. There's a welcoming vibe when you go there. I really love this place! The restaurant is small and clean. Nothing fancy but it's definitely cute! The server was nice and pleasant and took care of my requests if I had any The food is the star here. I'm totally in love with their khao soi pork belly ramen. It's SO delicious! The broth is a coconut-curry soup with so it's sweet with some heat (that you can add more with their spices they have for you). The big pieces of pork belly are tender and flavorful. There's a lot of nicely cooked ramen noodles and the crispy ones plus a beautiful soft-boiled egg! My barometer for Thai food in the US is the pad thai. If you have ever tried to make pad thai, you would realize that it is actually quite difficult to make. Too much fish sauce, and it would taste fishy and off-putting. This pad thai was excellent. Not too fishy, not to sweet, noodles cooked to the right texture. The pad see ew was pretty decent as well - not overly salty as I have tasted in other Thai places. This being said, the duck ramen was not good. The noodles felt like they came out of a package of instant ramen that you would get at the supermarket. The restaurant is very small with limited seating. The one small bathroom is literally in the middle of the kitchen, and you need to walk through the kitchen to access it. I thought that was sort of weird. We will probably be back for more pad thai. read more

Straight up, this place has the best chicken Khao Soi noodle soup I've yet found in NJ/NY. We also had the Pad Se Ew and Fried Rice which were both excellent. The owner being extremely friendly and attentive is a great bonus! The interior is low key making a great choice for families as well. Food was very good and actually a bit unique as far as flavor of the curries and papaya salad was concerned. All curries we tried was yummy. The decore is pretty basic but tge walls are cool. They rally to get more sitting spaces when the place gets more crowded. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely a recommended dining place! read more

First time here. Will definitely be back!!! We ordered three things for take out. Short rib ramen, Khao Sok shrimp ramen and Salmon rice bowl. We placed the order, got there in about 15-20 minutes and food was ready for picking up. Upon getting home, everything was carefully packed and soup was in separate containers so the ramen stays firm until I'm ready to eat. Yeah!!! Service on the phone was friendly and quick. The chef came out when I waved at the restaurant,and we chatted a little bit. Super friendly and the inside is tidy and cozy and can easily fit about 6-8 people comfortably for indoor dining. Blind luck led me to Thai Cookery and I am so glad it did. Recently, the nearby Italian deli was packed, so I left after waiting several minutes. Really hungry, TC was the next place I saw and I thought, let me try it. I sat down to a superb lunch. A great soup, perfectly cooked rice and a pork in ginger sauce main course, all at a very reasonable price. Made even more enjoyable by an engaging conversation with the charming owner, absolutely NO MSG, and noting that the place was SPOTLESS. Two days later, I placed a take out order for delivery. Dumplings, spring rolls, soup and a fantastic noodle and duck dish. All delivered within 35 minutes, piping hot. Never thought a packed deli could lead to such a great discovery. I stop by this Thai food place. They opened about two years ago according to cashier. Had a green curry with chicken. $17.99. I wish price set at 15.99 for the dish. The soup base was rich flavored and good mixture of seasoning. It was watery but due to the strong flavor I like the taste well. The basil on top was a nice touch. The veggies and meat was adequate so volume was a good. Chicken was tender overall but two of them had tiny bones in them. The prepping can be improved obviously. Huge thai food fanatic. I ate here for the first time yesterday. I ordered from the lunch special menu, I got the shrimp pad Thai "medium" spicy, a thai iced tea and, mango sticky rice dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, great portions and affordable. The service was great, really down to earth. Although this place is mostly for take out, I throughly enjoyed dining in and would do it again! Great ambience. Only reason not 5 stars is...the medium spicy wasn't spicy at all lol. We got the beer box, the wings were perfectly cooked, perfect amount of crisp and crunch. The pork belly slider was dry and should have had some type of sauce on it. We also got the veggie box, it was tasty but looked like a huge fired mess, I think all the veggies got stuck together in the fryer. *I wish they had the number of items included in each menu item (how many sliders how many spring rolls etc) * Flavor.... I have enjoyed everything I have tried here. The spicy green papaya salad, Thai fried rice, basil fried rice, spring rolls, the spicy shrimp ramen, chicken satay, drunken noodles and the massaman curry. All of it has been fantastic.
