We just stopped here on the way back from a shopping trip at the nearby Costco. The restaurant itself was very large and clean and the staff was friendly. We ordered from a touchscreen kiosk and had the food delivered in plastic containers by a robot. My daughter and I had the black garlic ramen, my wife the spicy miso, and my son the miso with the udon option (75 cents add-on to replace the ramen noodles). We also had pork gyoza and pork steam buns. The food was pretty good. It wasn't the level of some of the NYC or California ramen places that we've been to (e.g. Ippudo, or even the Edgewater Mitsuwa food court ramen--which are amazingly good). However, it was decent especially for the price and we enjoyed it. What struck us as very odd was that we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Why was a well-reviewed, fairly good place like this not without a single other customer during prime dinner time (6 to 630pm on a Sunday night)? It's been a cold week and I was in the mood for something hot, whether it was soup or ramen! I was looking for something nearby for pickup and came across Meow Sip/Nama Noodle Bar. Turns out drive by here all the time so why not finally try!? I ordered the Tonkotsu Shio Ramen with extra pork + egg along with the Pan Fried Pork Buns and Yasai (veggie) Gyoza. The bowl of ramen is big enough for two people so I made it last for dinner and leftover lunch the next day. The pan fried pork buns were my FAVE! There were 3 of them and pretty sizable! It's a pretty cool noodle place. You scan a QR code at the table, order and pay with your phone and a robot delivers food to your table. We thought the food is pretty good. The pork is very fatty and melts in your mouth and the egg was pretty ok. But you'll be disappointed if you are expecting the Japanese styled ramen. This is more like fusion Chinese and Japanese noodle. It's different and it's pretty good as long as you know what you are getting. I went there for bubble tea before and didn't know it was part of the restaurant. The bubble tea we had was ok today (hojicha). But the original milk tea one I had last time was pretty good. I've ordered delivery, as well as eaten here. Their menu has a good variety. If you're someone who doesn't like ramen, or you just aren't looking for a big bowl of soup that day, they do offer smaller dishes. They're also one of the few places that offer great bubble tea (which can be customized to fit your taste). When I tell people about this place, I (sometimes) refer to it as a place for introverts. I do not mean this in a negative sense at all. As someone with a stutter, ordering in a restaurant can make me nervous. When you come here, you seat yourself, then place your order and pay through a QR code provided at each table. This does make things a little more comfortable if you have social anxiety. So how does the food get from the kitchen to the table? When your food is ready, a "robot" (a small, motorized shelf unit with a screen) delivers your food to your table. Once you have your food, you press something on the screen, and the "robot" drives back to the kitchen. So why did I give it 4 stars instead of 5? Recently I visited the location for lunch but had an experience that threw me off a little. I ordered 2 servings of the Salted Egg Yolk Lava Buns (each one only comes with 3) (which is what I normally order, so I know how it comes). When the "robot" delivered my lunch, I was excited to get into it as this is the only location that offers this dish. I got through the first steamer tray and was ready to tuck into the second. When I lifted the first tray to put it to the side, I noticed a small dead spider sitting on one of the buns. I wasn't sure if I was seeing it right or not. Maybe a splinter of the bamboo steamer had flaked off. Nope. When I looked closer, I saw that I was right. A small dead spider (those little ones you almost don't even notice in your house) was sitting on one of the buns. I took the steamer to the nice woman at the front counter and calmly (and quietly) told her what happened. The last thing any business needs is a scene. She quickly took it away and brought it back to the kitchen where she reported to the staff what had happened. A few minutes later the batch was replaced. However, the man from the kitchen was very rude. He implied that the spider dropped from the ceiling when I was eating the buns. I explained (again, very calmly) that I noticed it when I removed the top tray after finishing the first set. Short version: he tried to tell me that it didn't happen in the kitchen because "it only takes 10 minutes to make them, so it couldn't possibly have happened there". I repeated that the steamers were stacked one on top of another while I was eating the contents, so the only way a spider could have gotten in was before it got to the table. He didn't apologize at all. I understand that a situation like this can throw anyone off. But the correct is simply, "I am so sorry. We'll make sure to keep a better eye on things in the future, so this doesn't happen again." Simple as that. Will I ever return here, or order from this place ever again? Absolutely. The food is great quality. This situation was a fluke, and nothing more. And I have no doubt it will never happen again. However, I hope that whoever it was who brought me the replacement batch (manager, chef etc.) rethinks his attitude and how he speaks to customers. read more

Nama Noodle Bar just opened recently this month of October 2022 and while the menu isnt 100% ready just yet (with a few things like rice bowls and sandos coming soon) this new restaurant does seem promising. This is actually my first time to experience robotics service and it was actually pretty cool. When you enter you either order from the kiosk or from the QR code at your table. And then Keenon, the robot, delivers all your orders to you. There wasnt really a lot of people on our visit so service was quick. For our orders, we got the shrimp siu mai app which wasnt really the best but okay for a start. Then we got the garlic ramen and spicy miso. Both had good broth and noodles were cooked nicely. There was generous amounts of cha shu pork and I loved that each order already came with an egg which as nicely done. Ramens were still served in disposable bowls for now but Im looking forward to when they'll be ready to be served in actual dishes/bowls. And lastly, Nama Noodles shares a spot with Meow and Sip so obviously you can also order milkteas while youre here. Also, owner mentioned they'll have homemade gelatos soon too! Nama Noodle Bar is one of my favorite places to eat. While their Ramen is not gourmet or high quality, it gets the job done. Portions here are generous, and many times I save half of my noodles for the next day. Nama Noodle Bar is a sister store to Meow n Sip boba so you can have both while there. The ordering system is modernized and uses QR codes to pay. A robot even delivers your food. My go to is the Tonkotsu or Miso ramen. Both of which I enjoy. The pork buns are also good. Finally came here with friends. Not sure if it's BYOB or not but brought beer, sake and wine anyway and had to go up to the counter to ask for plastic cups. The food was very reasonably priced. The robot waiter was something we had never seen in person as well, definitely different. The food was piping hot and very delicious. Did not try bubble tea not my thing but they seem to have many options. Will definitely return. Was the most economical meal I've had at a restaurant I years and well worth it. We saw this place a couple of weeks ago while dining at Grasshopper and decided to give it a try. When we looked it up and saw robot service we thought that was pretty cool and different. Reviews are pretty spot on. Food was very good and came out hot. Everything was flavorful. We had pork gyoza, steamed pork buns and spring roll apps. All three were perfect. I had black garlic ramen and my wife had Miso Ramen. Delicious. We tried a Brown Sugar Boba Milk tea for first time ever. It has a unique taste. Almost like a dessert. No complaints about anything. We loved the atmosphere and the ambiance was nice as well. We will definitely be going back again and would recommend it to friends. read more

We forgot about this little place and SO glad we remembered they were here. We ordered shrimp shumai,steamed Pork Buns and Spicy Miso Ramen. Can you say YUMMY?? The pork buns soft and pillowy, the shumai was quite tasty sorry there wasn't more to eat . The Spicy Miso was beautifully plated and served to us by an automated Robot who rolls up to the table. That was way cool. Sorry, back to the Ramen. The pork was so soft and tasty it so compliments all of the warm spices and veggies in the bowl. It most certainly hit the spot. Nama noodles may not appear as a place you want to run into from the appearance from the outside, but don't judge the book by the cover as they say. I had been going to Mr Sushi for years, going back to when it was in its original location by the Shoprite in Lincoln Park. Over the years, it seemed like it was just less and less busy. Meow & Sip was a nice addition but it seemed like the restaurant wasn't as bustling as it was 10 or 12 years ago. I wasn't surprised when I saw it had closed. I was happy to see that it's the same family who owns Nama Noodle Bar. They've done some renovating on the inside. It's nothing super fancy and looks similar to what it used to look like, just with new tables and more open space in the dining area. It seemed like it still wasn't 100% the last time I was there. As others have said, you're served by a robot. It seems cool. I haven't seen them in action when the place is hopping, though. The food is great. There aren't many noodle places in the area, so it's nice to have the option. I'm not sure the full menu is out yet, but what we had was delicious. Highly recommend the steamed pork buns. read more
