Great spot. Loved my spicy shrimp salad. Great value. Been coming here for over twenty years since I went to college.

Still my favorite Thai restaurant here in the valley!!! The owner is super accommodating! I'm always ordering my go to- pad Thai w shrimp & combination fried rice. 100 stars

3.75 stars Order to go: Crab wontons-real crab bits, still deciding if should have been made with surimi. Hmm? Chicken wings, very sauced but tasty Garlic chicken dinner special, bland - I recreated it with onions, oyster sauce, mushrooms and tossed back in the bland chicken. Drizzle of soy sauce, Replaced into same to-go order vessel Orange chicken, not crispy but okay and very seasoned and sauced. I waited and they all got stuck together. Peeled apart when wanting to eat. The old man-sweet.

One of the best Thai food places I've tried!! There was only 1 worker and it didn't take longer than 30min for the food to come out. And when it did it was fresh and hot! Enjoyed my whole meal, truly delicious. Definitely coming again ! A must try for anyone in the area.

I actually came here to try a pick up order from another eatery in this small strip mall at the junction of Nordhoff and Lindley, in Northridge. But then I saw Thai Chili House and my focus shifted and I entered this small establishment. It seemed to be a one-man operation. I ordered Prik King, but they did not have it. So, for the lunch special, I switched to Red Curry with Beef, to go. It came with a small salad, steamed rice and an egg roll. The red curry had a lot of flavor and all the beef pieces were tender and tasty. Egg roll was good too. Salad was fresh. Just a tough place to get into with very tight parking.

    They deserve it.

The menu was on laminated paper which must be a few years old and felt disgusting to touch. I started with hot tea and it was served in a metal cup. I wish they served it in a nice ceramic container for customer's enjoyment. For lunch, we ordered chicken chow mein and their pork and crab dumpling (like a xiao long bao). The chicken chow mein had a boatload of cabbage and probably 10 strips of chow mein noodles. It should have been called cabbage noodles (lol). The pork and crab dumplings would have been a hit, but the dumpling shell had a "soapy" smell. The meat inside was soft and tasted good, but I couldn't get over the smell of the shell. We would have also wanted to try seaweed salad, but it was unavailable on this day. The parking at Northern Cafe is plenty. The staff is also courteous. But given the state of the food and overall feel, I give it only two stars. Truthfully, you can find better Chinese food close by this area. There's Maru Ramen on Reseda and Nordhoff, or Silverlake Ramen on Rinaldi. And no, I don't work for either of those places. All of this feedback is based on customer experience.

Very honest opinion: Not sure if I'm eating the same food as everyone else leaving reviews here,…read morebut I got the signature beef (Lanzhou) noodle soup combo and it was incredibly disappointing~mediocre. Server guy was chill. The food is served in a paper bowl, unlike the nice bowls you see in their pics. Tl;dr: if you're curious, don't waste your time, bafang is open 5min away Preface: I KNOW it's mall food, but for a restaurant that continuously pops up as #1 on Yelp whenever I search for food around the northridge/chatsworth area, I'm going to treat it as if it were a #1 spot. Beef noodle soup: to be very blunt, this was quite flavorless. The beef was dry as bones and looked like it was sliced with a mandoline. The noodles seemed undercooked and it felt like I was eating al dente spaghetti noodles. I got a medium spice level which didn't even seem that spicy, just a lot of cough inducing chili oil with no burn. Pan fried dumplings were ok. It honestly tasted like it was deep fried and not pan fried. Unsweetened black tea: hands down the best of the 3 things in the combo, which is quite telling. Honestly you get a decent amount of food for $15. But to constantly take the top 5 for recommended on Yelp in this area and waste my time to even look at it, it definitely doesn't belong remotely close to top 10.

The service was friendly and the wait was reasonable. Its located in the mall which means that you don't really get much of a vibe from this place alone but of everything surrounding. The soup was not spicy imo, I have a high tolerance, but it did have a good flavor. The noodles were thick and soft but they lacked a bit of flavor. The beef was soft and flavorful with the smaller bits of beef, which resembled ground beef, were very tasty. The soup was good overall but felt a bit too oily. The dumplings had a light crunchy exterior and the inside was juicy but it felt just a bit too mushy for me. Overall a good place and I would return to try something else.

Since it was a group visit, we ended up tasting almost everything on the menu--and every single item impressed us. We started with pani puri, which was fresh, tangy, and full of that classic street-food punch. The chili chicken was crispy and spicy with great flavor, while the hakka noodles were well seasoned and comforting. The jhol momos were rich and flavorful, and the steamed momos were juicy, soft, and perfectly cooked--simple and delicious. One of the biggest highlights was their new addition: Maggi. It was hands down the best--pure nostalgia in a bowl and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave. And for me, the clear winner was the loaded fries--crispy, generously topped, and absolutely addictive. I loved them and would happily go back just for those. Even though it's a food truck, it gives you the perfect feel of enjoying authentic snacks and momos, just like true street food should. It was the first time I've eaten at hot wok. But others in the party frequent the restaurant. One person ordered the sizzling rice soup and said it had been better on other occasions. For the tale we ordered a pork dumpling starter, which was fine. Our main dishes were the orange chicken that was good. The kung pao chicken that was bad. A tad dry and flavorless. Ma Po tofu for a vegan eater which the said wasn't the best representation and for some reason the kitchen didn't add onions to help it be vegan. We had vegetable chow fun noodles that were good. We had sautéed green beans that were sautéed with ginger and not garlic which weee bad. You add it up and there's your three stars.
