I always look for Thai restaurants when I am traveling for work and I happen to find this nugget off of the main strip. At first, I wasn't sure if it was open or not as it looks like a little house with a gentleman who helped me was friendly. It had a good attitude which I always like. The green curry was very good and the rice in the shape of a star is a nice touch. It seemed like they had multiple levels of spiciness and so I chose one that best fit me which was kind of in the middle and it was delicious. It also was a very large portion so I was able to make it into two meals. I ordered the egg rolls which were also good. Great experience would go back in a heartbeat. read more

I've eaten here once in three years. It seems like its a person cooking for you out of her home. I had broccoli and chicken with rice. We had the fried stuff. Shrimp and crab rangoon maybe. It literally took a lifetime to get the food. We sat and sat and sat. The food was so bland. I feel like I could make this stuff. It was flavorless. I was so disappointed in this meal. One of the best Thai restaurants outside of Thailand. We had Pad Thai with chicken and Pumpkin Curry with red curry, chicken and a side of rice; both were EXCELLENT!!! Portions were large, the unsweetened ice tea was refreshing and the prices were very reasonable. Our only regret was that we are only staying one night in Riverton. I even considered to extend our stay in Riverton just to return and try other dishes. What a jewel of a place. Service was great also. If I ever past through this town again I will definitely stop for dinner here. read more

This former house turned Thai restaurant was quite the oasis in the desert. We had been traveling for a while on our trip already, and our family loves Asian food. So we did a quick Yelp to find something on our route and this gem came up. After a quick phone call to verify hours etc. we were on the way. We were able to park in the closed gas station next door as we were pulling a trailer, so that was a great start. The place is very unassuming, however the food was dynamite. We ordered Pad Thai, the avocado curry. Everything was served up fresh and hot, however the food was delivered in batches as the kitchen is very small. There is a TV in the dining room and seating for 6 groups or so. The only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars... was the delay in order plating from the small kitchen. We appreciated that each dish came out when ready instead of getting cold while we waited for the others to be ready. The curry was truly unique and I would recommend this to anyone looking for something a little different. The broth was thick with flavor, and paired nicely with the tasty fresh ingredients. Some people feel that this portion of Wyoming is eerily similar to Thailand. Especially the dense jungle foliage and the flotilla of fishing boats strung up along the greater Wyoming-Utah Delta that empties into the "Bay of Disappointment" near the Flaming Gorge. My oldest brother served time in Riverton during the Vietnam War. He wasn't in the military, he spent time in prison for kiting checks during the Vietnam War. The only way I can explain the painful rectal itch I get when we travel in the vicinity of Riverton is some sort of "psychological somatization" of his experience in the local pokey during said Vietnam War. Anyhow, I digress. This restaurant is located in a cute little house and I believe that their culinary talent actually hails from Thailand. I ordered their version of drunken noodles, which was excellent. I would rate this place higher except for my egg roll, it was a little cold in the center when I got it. I'm not one to leave negative reviews but I felt it necessary in this case. I walked in the restaurant and waited at the door for several minutes. The server kept walking past me but would not acknowledge me. After several minutes of this I walked over to the counter hoping to get his attention. I noticed a menu on the counter so I opened it and started looking through the menu. The server came back to the counter to total up a ticket, still no acknowledgment. He looked over at me and closed the menu I was looking at. I finally asked him how he was and he said "hi" and walked away. He came back a few minutes later to tally up another ticket, I asked him if I should seat myself or if he wanted me to sit in a particular spot. He said "go ahead and have a seat if you can find a place to sit." I walked around and found an open table and sat down. After a few minutes of no menu or acknowledgment I decided to leave. As I was getting in my car in the parking lot he ran out with a glass of water and said he had water for me. I told him I was fine thank you, but I would be going somewhere else to eat. I cannot speak to the food, it may be very delicious, but the service was very very poor. I feel it is a common courtesy to at least acknowledge a person when they come to your business establishment. A simple "I'll be with you in 5 minutes" would have kept me there. read more

In Riverton (from Houston) visiting family and stumbled upon Thai Chef 2. Ordered the Chicken Pad Prik King - it was excellent! Being from Houston, we have a huge selection of Thai restaurants. Thai Chef 2 is as good as anything I've had. The chef is a lovely lady from Thailand. She came to my table to check on my meal. I ordered my dish level 3 spicy and it was perfect. Went there with my parents after hearing raving recommendations from the locals. Ordered calamari and 3 seafood phos. The calamari came after 15mins and the pho even longer. We were one of the two tables at that restaurant. The pho broth was unbearably salty. We were told by the chef later that it was the local custom. Ok. But there was hardly any seafood in the bowl, and they were out of BOTH cilantro and basil. Despite all this they still charged us almost $13 a bowl. We later got much better pho in Monterey for half the price. Would not recommend. read more
