Stopped in, while passing through, thanks to previous Yelp reviews, and were blown away by the quality of food. We ordered Crab Rangoons, which the waiter suggested as "the best around", Drunken Noodles, and Massaman Curry. All three were perfect and we are still in wonder that Thermopolis could be blessed with such delicious cuisine! We would go out of way to stop in again! read more

Without question the best food in Thermopolis. I got curry Locka, which is rare for a Thai restaurant and it was done impeccably. Good sticky rice. The pineapple curry was delicious. Highly recommend. Pretty much everywhere. Else in town and only eat here. read more

Worthy of all five stars! What a comforting, refreshingly tasty lunch following a 2 hr drive from Dubois! With the owners' input, I chose the pumpkin curry and can easily say that it was the best I have ever had! The dish had a good amount of heat but was perfectly balanced with the coconut in the sauce and sweetness of the pumpkin. All ingredients of the curry tasted fresh and were cooked al dente - the nutrients not cooked out. The portion was generous - enough to pack half to share with my partner that evening. Quite possibly the best Thai food I've ever had. Fresh ingredients, flavorful. My curry was wonderful. Wife's pad Thai was great. Tom yum was great. My kids - who have never eaten Asian food - even tolerated their chicken! Only drawback was I got "grilled lamb" in my curry as a novelty and found it came with FIVE LAMB CHOPS balanced on top of the curry! Not at all what I expected, also a bit undercooked. But the curry itself was bloody excellent!!! I'll just get my usual beef next time and I am sure it will be absolutely perfect. No liquor license so BYOB'd some beer. Also great! The inside is truly bizarre (ratty tables and a random Christmas tree and pictures of the Thai royal family and random Western decor and weird anthropomorphic toy cat statue collection and random Thai dry groceries like dried octopus sold at the front) - and that somehow makes it even more perfect. WOW! When my husband suggested Thai food in Wyoming, let alone, Thermopolis, Wyoming... I laughed! Seriously unexpected to find one of the best Thai restaurants this side of Thailand! Lovely owner served us incredibly crispy egg rolls that we quickly devoured. Tom Yum Soup had such an amazing broth and lots of shrimp. Pad Thai was plentiful with lots of chicken and egg, sauce was spot on! Lastly, Nua Ka Ting... a beef in garlic sauce dish served with veggies and topped with fried basil. Simply exploding with flavor!! I will never laugh at my husband again (ok, who am I kidding?!) You really should give this place a try! It was fantastic! read more

Ordered a little of everything off of their menu. Loved it all. The only disappointments had been tiny spring-rolls and the Pad Thai was overly sweet for me. Really good Thai! My crispy ginger duck was outstanding! My wife ordered country pad Thai with shrimp and chicken and loved it. The server was efficient and the food was delivered promptly. The jasmine tea was mellow and fragrant. We ordered an interesting appetizer that we had not seen before. Crispy fried avocados with a savory dipping sauce. What a blessing it is to have this restaurant in Thermopolis! We have been coming here since it opened, and love the food. Some of their dishes don't measure up to the big city Thai restaurants, but overall, they do a great job. Love the fried calamari and crab rangoons. Our favorite menu items are anything garlic or basil, usually with duck or lamb. My only recommendation would be to cook the veggies a bit longer. Sometimes they come out barely steamed at all, which makes them difficult to enjoy with the delicious sauces. read more

Was a bit disappointed. Ordered general chicken, sesame chicken and crab rangoons. The Rangoons were overly sweet but edible, the chicken was ok, a bit dry and tough, the sweet and sour sauce was tolerable, but the sesame sauce was unappealing to say the least. Both entrees were served over "steamed" vegetables, which may as well have been fresh produce they left in with the warm food for a bit. Vegetables weren't even soft at all. Both entrees came with a side of white rice, which was so dry no amount of added soy sauce could redeem it. Not to many choices here in thermopolis however came to Bangkok Thai for dinner and was not disappointed. We arrived with a large party half being young children and was impressed at how quickly we were sat and able to order. Food came out quickly and was thrilled that all the kids food was first on the table. Prices were very reasonable and portions were larger than normal so was able to take home left overs. Fantastic authentic Thai food in a surprising locale. We ordered takeout which was prepared fresh and fast and was still piping hot when we got back to our hotel. This was the best-reviewed food in town, so we got takeout and it was... amazing. We had the Bangkok Duck, which was excellent, and Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was really really good. The breading was minimal and very flavorful, it really didn't need sauce at all to be delicious. The sauce was light and not too sweet, veggies with both were crisp and fresh. First of all, I love Thai food and eat it regularly so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in Thermopolis. But boy were we disappointed! I had the Bangkok Duck and it was deep fried and dryer than a hundred year old boot. I couldn't eat it. My husband had the basil duck which was also dry but even worse was the fact that it was rancid and he had to run out of the place to vomit!! Yes, really! Entering the small restaurant, you notice splashes of color and large pictures of the food. A large variety of options, from various curry to different stir fry, all for a very reasonable price. Lamb is an option in several dishes. Served in the garlic sauce it was spectacular. My cousins had the spicy eggplant and crab fried rice, respectively. The eggplant had an excellent flavor and hint of heat. The fried rice was delicious and a large portion. Hubby had the pumpkin curry. A spice addict, he added extra chili sauce, however the taste was excellent. The ice cream with coconut and mango over sweet rice is a huge, melt in your mouth treat. Order: Drunken noodles with beef Price: $13 Pros: The beef was full of flavor (but I mean its Wyoming so I would hope so), you got A LOT of food, good flavor and spice to the noodles Cons: Not very much seating, the menu you got at the table definitely wasn't the "full" menu (there were things pictured on the walls that you could order, but that weren't on the menu), the decor was...interesting Thoughts: If I had to choose one word to describe Bangkok Ty I think I would go with surprising. Not surprising in a bad way, surprising in a way, there is seriously a good Thai restaurant in Wyoming?" Kind of way. It is honestly surprising for several reasons, the first of which is that I really don't think you expect to find good Thai in the middle of a small town in Wyoming. Then, you probably don't expect it to be good, which it was, really good. Once you get past that the decor is also very surprising, it seems like they decided to wallpaper a majority of the restaurant with different pictures of food from their menu, not like a normal pictures behind the counter at a food restaurant so you can order off of them, as if they turned the walls of the building into a menu. Because there are definitely things on the walls that you can order that are not on the menu you're given. Once you may have passed the surprise factor, the food is actually very good I ordered the drunken noodles, and it was some of the best drunken noodles, with beef because that's what you do in Wyoming, that I've had in a very long time. I was able to sample several different dishes that were ordered at the table and all of them were very good, with one recurring exception. Anything that was fried, like potstickers or spring rolls, work over the fry. Definitely a little overcooked and A little to oily for my tastes. Overall an incredibly good Thai restaurant, regardless of where it was located. I would definitely go back if I was in the area, which I probably will be again, and counted it as one of the good surprises from my trip. read more

I don't know what happened between our visit and all the other yelp reviews, but I do NOT recommend this place. The food was disgusting. We were passing through after visiting Yellowstone and found this place on yelp. 4 stars and 45 reviews, when other restaurants only had a few ratings. Figured we'd give it a try since we were tired of snacking, fast food, and BBQ. We ordered Mongolian Beef, country pad Thai, fried avocado, crab wontons, a side of veggies and water to drink. The water tasted moldy like the dispenser needed to be cleaned or a filter needed changing. Even our 2 yr old noticed. Then food came. Crab puffs were made with an overly sweet and cheap cream cheese, and I'm not sure there was more than one speck of crab in each wrapper. The fried avocado was OK. Our main dishes were pretty horrid. The pad Thai was soaked in fish sauce (fishy flavor) and just had an off taste. The Mongolian Beef was served over crunchy noodles, which is not what I expected but was OK. The flavor however, resembled what i imagine rank dog food to taste like. Lastly, to loop back to the water issue, even the steamed veggies had an odd flavor that I imagine came from the grid water. My meal was one of the better Thai dishes I've had. I took mine to go, but the restaurant is very small and looked to only have a couple of tables.
