I was generally surprised by this restaurant. The food was good and had enough unique qualities to make this restaurant interesting. Particularly liked the tacos and the fried burrito. read more

Service good No beginning chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants. Breakfast omelette had sliced American cheese on it. Really? Fried tacos were a little greasy but ok. They charged extra for additional salsa to put on the tacos. The one they gave us had no spice. Big room, decent atmosphere. Outdoor seating. I'll try somewhere else next time. read more

Fantastic food, service, and ambiance! We ate there for breakfast the green chili was delicious but the red was our favorite! Looking forward to our next visit! read more

I stopped for breakfast, probably the sorriest Heuvos Ranchero I've ever had. No sauce, no tortilla underneath. Just sad. I know this is in the middle of Wyoming, but this isn't even close. read more

No Free Chips Slow Service Messed up orders Failed to practice basic "let me make this right" practices They delivered the wrong food not once, but twice, then prepared another inaccurately. The experience took a very long time. The restaurant was staffed appropriately, and people did check on us. Sadly, the entire experience was messed up from start to finish. In the end, not even a simple let us buy you a beer or comp a meal offered. Recommendation: if visiting this establishment and they blow it that bad, insist on getting something compensated. It's standard practice, and considering the blunders at our table more than appropriate. read more

Old home town greasy spoon. A little slow from the get go and it always bothers me when you get your food after people that came in behind you That being said, the food was "ok". I had a burger and it was kind bland. Don't be in a hurry when you arrive. I will try it again next time I am in town. read more

Ranchito Cafe - Mexican Near Me - Worland, Wyoming

Visiting the Basin area for a week and decided to give Ranchito Cafe a try for dinner. Should. you be here and find yourself struck with a similar urge, suppress it. It stands alone as perhaps the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been in. Service was absolutely abysmal from the moment we walked through the door and found ourselves standing in a practically empty restaurant with nobody to seat us. After waiting a couple of minutes (and about ten seconds before I was going to say to my wife, "let's go") the waitress (the only waitress in the place) came out of the kitchen and seated us. I ordered a margarita. I'm not at all sure what I got and was only able to stomach trying about two sips before I set it aside. It looked like somebody had run an order of refried beans through a blender on the liquify setting, poured the output in a glass and dropped in a couple of ice cubes. It tasted worse. This is a no frills restaurant, I guess. No complimentary chips or salsa. Likewise, no extras (like pico de gallo, or usable amount of sour cream with the beef fajitas I ordered, although there were a number of large chunks of a tomato on the plate that I guess I could have turned into a substitute for pico de gallo if I wanted to do the chef's job for him). I did ask for extra sour cream (in addition to the teaspoon or so that was on the plate, which eventually arrived after I didn't need it any more; about a tablespoon full, for which we were charged $1. By the way, the beef on the fajita was dry and tasteless and made me feel bad about the kibble we feed our dog. While not the Four Seasons, the prices here were not exactly cheap and I could have had a better Mexican dinner at Taco Bell for much less (but without the undrinkable margarita). read more

The wife and I stopped for lunch on the way thru Worland. We had a Chile rellenio, a smothered beef fried burrito, and a smothered super taco. The green chili rellenio was stuffed with cheese lightly battered and lightly fried served covered with great green Chile! Very tasty The smothered super taco was very good the chicken had some dry pieces but it was real chicken and had s great flavor. The smothered fried burrito was my favorite. The beef here was great nicely fried and smothered with green chili and cheese! All so good! Hot sauce was fresh and tasty! Katie was a great waitress! We will be back. read more

Ranchito Cafe - Chips and salsa...??? - Mexican Near Me - Worland, Wyoming

Everyone enjoyed the food from tacos to enchiladas they charge for the chips which is a disappointing and the serving of chips is not very big but we would come back. The service was friendly and the bathrooms were clean read more

See all

The food was pretty good here. Execpt from the hash browns but over all I love the food.

Either their menu need to be more clear or the waitress needs to explain things better. I ordered the 2 deep fried burritos with two items. I ordered the shredded beef and rice. What I received is 2 burritos, one with just rice and one with just shredded beef. Since I took my order to go I didn't realize what I received until I got back to the hotel. I pass through the area often for work and might stop again and give them another chance. read more

Cinco de Mayo. Great Waiter. Horrible salty food that required the salsa. You could tell the plates had been sitting under heat lamps or microwaved. The poor radishes bled out and were cooked. The bean dip was stale and very chewy. High prices. read more

Ranchito Cafe - Only upside great Waiter. Taco's were so salty the salsa was a must. Just go to Taco Johns they have street tacos & sides half the price. - Mexican Near Me - Worland, Wyoming

New ownership, same drab menu. When's the update? Broader menu, more business. Please???

Pork chili was good. So was bean dip and chips. Combination dinners are better choices than ala carte.

Great service, Alexis (spelling name wrong) was sweet to all of us, especially to our two preschoolers. Food was great, not truly authentic but was it tasty. Family live the tacos dinner plates. And the chips and salsa was a hit. Great place to dine. Thank you. read more

The food and service here is Very Good. We will definitely return. 4 out of 5 stars only because I prefer hotter mex food which is not available in this part of the country it seems. But overall you won't go wrong having a meal here. read more

Bland bland bland bland bland tasteless food. Not worth eating here. My stomach hurts. Service was decent after we were finally seated. Too many dirty tables, someone not doing their job bussing them . Oh that's right, he was playing games on his phone :() read more

Not my favorite choice for Mexican food in town but currently one of the only restaurants open for dinner. I do find anything with ground beef to be rather greasy, but do love their homemade beans and chip dip. read more

We went in with high expectations because the decor on the outside looked nice. The inside was nicely decorated too. We ordered a double deep fried burrito and a chili relleno . We were told they were out of chili relleno's, they were making them as we speak! So I ordered a soft burrito instead and a ice tea and I asked if they could make a blended Virgin Margarita. they said yes. We also had to order chips and bean dip/ salsa. We were not offered any water and chips and salsa were not complimentary. The chips and bean dip/ salsa were very delicious, but the rest of the food was not. My soft burrito was microwaved to hard and you could not cut it with a fork. My husbands double deep fried burrito had a sauce over them that had no taste except of corn starch. Very bad. If you want the normal lettuce or tomatoes or sour cream on your food it is extra. My Virgin Margarita had strawberry sugar on the rim of the glass instead of salt! The waiter asked us how our food was and I said so-so. He ignored my comment and then a minute later came over and asked if there was anything better they could have done. I started to tell him the sauce on my husbands burritos was bland and I had strawberry Sugar on my margarita glass instead of salt. he said " OH, you would have rather had salt? I then said I had never been to a Mexican restaurant that charged for chips and salsa and he said " the restaurant business is tough as he walked away. The decor is the only thing good about this restaurant and we would never go there again if it was the last place to eat. read more

Yum! We were on our way through Worland and stopped for lunch. We enjoyed lunch on the very nice patio. Service was fast and accurate. Everything was fresh and homemade. read more

Historically one of the best restaurants in Worland. Authentic homemade tortillas, salsa, chips, etc. Ask for the morning chili if you like hot salsa. Very reasonable and delicious food, however the service will vary from great to weird, but they are drawing from a small agricultural town in Wyoming. This is the go to Mexican restaurant in Glenwood and we eat there multiple times every time we go back read more

We didn't expect much from a restaurant in a small town, but Ranchito stood out. It was still open for lunch at 4pm, when other restaurants are closed from 2:30-5pm. The chips are unique, more like mini triangles of crunchy fried dough. Service was prompt, and very accommodating. We had the taco salad and fajitas. read more

While visiting I gave this restaurant a try for the second time by ordering a simple bun less hamburger patty with cheese. How hard is that? Well they don't even use real ground beef but a frozen soy patty topped with American plastic cheese. It was so disgusting I couldn't wait for that to get out of my body. What a disgrace to call themselves a Mexican restaurant. Being from Texas I know Mexican food and unfortunately for this area of the country they are not getting that from this at "Ranchito". Bring some quality and authentication to your food. Just because there aren't many choices doesn't mean you should choose bland, pretend dishes. How I wish Gordon Ramsay could come and visit this sad establishment and bring some quality food to this otherwise great little community of Worland,Wyoming. read more

Great breakfast- pork tamale, scrambled eggs & refried beans. I'd order again! Fast & Friendly service

Stopped in for breakfast with my family the morning after Thanksgiving, 2013. Waitress was extremely rude from the get go. This ruined our entire dining experience. Because of this, We will never return to this restaurant again. read more

We were in Worland on errands, decided to stop in based on reviews. Maybe we are just spoiled from our local Mexican restaurant, but we were thoroughly unimpressed. My fiancée ordered enchiladas and a chicken burrito, and when the burrito came - it was literally just chicken rolled in a tortilla (that's IT- plain chicken), topped with unmelted shredded cheese. The cheese did not proceed to melt, either, as the burrito was lukewarm at best. I was so shocked I had to take a picture! I had the smothered super taco, which- though it was ok- tasted like everything came out of a bag or a box. Fiancée said the same...nothing tasted fresh. Usually at other restaurants, they bring you chips/salsa or at least ask if you'd like some. Not here. I had to wait until our waitress came around again (hadn't stopped by once since we ordered), and ask. The "bean dip" is basically retried beans from a can, and though the puffy chips are neat...they don't taste very good. We love Mexican food, but the flavors were just...meh. I wouldn't go back, and if I lived in Worland I would drive elsewhere to eat Mexican. read more

Ranchito Cafe - Chicken burrito. The sauce was taken from another dish, as it is literally chicken in a tortilla with unmelted cheese on top. - Mexican Near Me - Worland, Wyoming

Worst restaurant I have ever been to. The special was taco salad so I got the chicken. Lettuce was watery and shredded chicken was watery like it came from a can. Almost to tomatoes and some shredded cheese. It was supposed to come with chips and salsa, so I asked right before our food came out and the young male waiter said " I've been meaning to bring it out, but I have been busy. ". What? Salsa from a jar and chips were not chips. Just soft puffed tastless pieces of tortilla. Hardly saw him leave the kitchen area and computer. Bad atmosphere. No personality in any of the workers there. Weird experience. read more
