I love That food and I always compare every Thai restaurant to the Thai food I've had in Thailand. A lot miss the mark but I will say Thai Chef is a must try. The service was A1 the waitress was very attractive and made a recommendation when I was torn between options. The restaurant is a nice size considering it is in a plaza. I ordered the seafood combination curry (Thai spicy) it was flavorful. The seafood was cooked perfectly. It was so good that I didn't even take a picture . When it came to dessert I couldn't pick so I had two: mango sticky rice and flan. Definitely suggest giving them a try.

Pretty standard Thai strip center restaurant in Texas. Nice decor, friendly and very attentive service. Music on was fantastic. Pad Thai was ok. Skimpy on protein (chicken). Beer was cold

It was busy, there was a lot of people. We had to wait a bit until being seated, but not too long. The food was fresh and everything was decent. I wasn't a fan of the Austin deep fried sushi rolls, BUT their regular sushi rolls (which came with the bento box were delicious). I had miso soup, but forgot to take a photo because I devoured it.. it tasted perfect! In terms of ambiance, the restaurant is a bit small, and maybe a bit crowded. Their high chairs are not typical sturdy wooden restaurant ones, and I felt a bit paranoid with my baby in it (because it has 4 individual legs, and if someone trips on the high chair they might take your baby down with them). Overall, a decent place to go, closer and more convenient than my favorite Japanese place in San Antonio. I think I'd prefer to take it out rather than dine in, but I would recommend it.

A very small restaurant off FM78 between Schertz and Cibolo. The service was very nice and quite helpful. We started with the papaya salad. The fish sauce was a little heavy. The fruit with veggies came in rather large chunks with a side of romaine lettuce leaves. Might have been meant to be a lettuce wrap but it did not work well. Now ... the Pho and massaman were AMAZING. The veggie pho was full of lots of veggies ... amount and variety. The broth was savory. The massaman had a deep curry sauce ... a little heat that slowly built. Packed with chicken, potatoes and cashews ... rice on the side. The sauce was creamy and the dish was aromatic ... curry, cardamom, and cinnamon.

By mistake I ended up at this restaurant. Never heard of it before. I had to follow my friend with a damaged tire to this side of town and stumbled upon it. We were starving! The place is packed! It is a smaller restaurant and every single table is occupied which made me even more curious to try it out. The waitresses are super friendly and the tables are so close to each other we started chatting with our neighbors. Everyone is praising the food. We get a curry, pad Thai, spring rolls and a couple other appetizers. To my surprise the food was delicious! I will definitely be back when I am on this side of town

Thanks Rose for your great customer service and kindness.

Great food and service with a smile Rose and Brandon were outstanding. I plan to return.

These Drunken noodles were amazing! Packed with flavor!! Best noodles in town!

The food here is incredibly savory! The drunken noodles are definitely a highlight. The amount of flavor in one dish should be illegal! Best noodles I have had in a long time! Definitely a hidden gem.

Thai Chef is cooking some of the most delicious Thai food I've had. The classic Drunken Noodle is spiced just enough that you know you've accomplished something, and the noodles are spot on al dente (chef's kiss). The chicken satay appetizer is tender, lightly seasoned, and accompanied by a phenomenal spicy peanut sauce. The space is intimate and warm, and managed by kind and engaged staff. This is most evident as the staff greets regulars by their first name... I love this! I highly recommend you try Thai Chef, and I have no doubt you'll add it to your dining rotation. Cheers!

My favorite dish is the green curry. Second is spicy Pad Thai. Much better than ordering just regular.

I can't seem to find phonon their menu but many previous customers have purchased it and loved it. Is it named something else on the menu? Perhaps I looked at an older menu but can't seem to find the pho. Hmmm.

I'd be really surprised if they'd taken it off te menu. The had 3 or 4 different types. I've only had the meatball pho, but it was outstanding. The staff and he owner are really friendly, just give them a call if you have any questions.

She knew portion sizes, flavor profiles, and made sure we were happy with food selections. Ambiance: place is trendy. Decor was really nice and the place felt welcoming. My spouse and I could converse in a regular level and never felt as if we needed to shout to be heard. Food: Delicious! We opted for the 7 course prefix meal and it didn't disappoint. We added the shrimp and Brussels sprouts appetizer (which we took home). As this was our first time, we don't realize they had different menus. Everything we had was phenomenal. We will be back. But once we sat down, it made sense. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the difference. There was only one server handling the entire floor, and when a rush hit all at once, it definitely got busy fast. But here's the thing... she handled it with grace. Even when you could tell she was juggling a lot, she stayed attentive, kind, and kept checking in on us. That kind of effort deserves recognition. Now let's talk about the real star of the show... The Texas French Toast. Oh. My. Goodness. Thick, golden, perfectly cooked slices topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries that tasted like they were picked that morning. It wasn't just good, it was indulgent in the best way. Sweet without being overwhelming. Rich but balanced. I couldn't even finish it (which says a lot), and happily boxed the rest up. The only regret? I ate all the berries first. Rookie mistake. My husband ordered one of the hash plates and said it was solid comfort food... hearty, flavorful, and filling. He couldn't finish his either, so I'm definitely sneaking a few bites later. Overall, we left impressed. The food feels intentional. The flavors feel thoughtful. It's the kind of local spot you want to root for. And the fact that they serve pork lumpia for lunch? Say less. We'll be back for that. If you're looking for a cozy, made-from-scratch brunch spot in Universal City, this one is worth the wait. Good food takes time, and this place proves it. ***This review is based on my taste buds. Firstly, we had trouble getting an uber at first and when I called the staff was very friendly and were able to hold the table a little longer which I appreciated. The menu is a mix of Asian Fusion small plates and I would have loved to have had more of a sampling of the menu but it wasn't that large of a party. The cocktails were not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The Fist of Fury was so refreshing and the Yuzu margarita was delightful! The plates come when they are ready and I have to say the food came really quick! All of it was fantastic! Surprisingly the shredded vegetable salad was amazing and one of my favorite dishes! The tamarind glaze on the Chicken Karaage was not overpowering and so tasty. The service was amazing and the vibes of the restaurant were a lot of fun.
