Delicious food, excellent service and good prices..I highly suggest to anyone that loves Asian cuisines, and/or good Thai food.

the only reason this place didn't receive 5 stars was because I ordered the tom sum and asked for spicy and it wasn't even a little bit spicy...but it was pretty good a little on the sweet side...of course not as good as mine, but pretty good for a restaurant! ;-p the service was a little slow...but to be honest that doesn't really bother me much. great thai noodle dishes and sushi. I'll have to go back and see if their curry stands up. read more

We love this place for sushi. Its close to the house and has always had great food. I went in for take out and got a free bowl of miso soup while I waited! The owner was attentive and welcoming. We will continue to visit Thai Cafe whether eating in or taking out. read more

My husband and I have always enjoyed thai food, so when we recently moved to Heritage we decided to give Thai Cafe a try. Our neighbors all had good things to say about it. We went last weekend and all I can is we will be coming back!When we got there on friday night it was packed. But our waitress was very friendly and she offered help with the menu. We first ordered egg rolls and basil rolls for an appetizer. They came out pretty fast and they were wonderful! Then just shortly after our meals came out. The crab luisuan was to die for and the seafood panang was great! The waitress made sure we were enjoying our meal and our drinks were never low. The manager is also very attentive to our needs. All the employees were very nice. The atmosphere is also lovely. We will be returning. read more

This place is a lunchtime favorite. Staff is super friendly and they are very very accommodating to any dietary restrictions / allergies. The lunch menu is great. Make sure to check out the specials on the board. Spicy eggplant with steamed tofu is great. Also you can get brown rice for an extra dollar - well worth it. read more

Love this place! I eat here probably once a week, the food is that good. I love all of their curries. Their basil rolls are delicious and savory appetizers. I try to take all my friends here especially if they have never tried Thai food. Good atmosphere and the friendly service. read more

Pad Thai was REALLY GOOD. The spring rolls were probably the best I've had - and the sweet sauce to go with them was yummy too. My hubby had the red curry chicken - this was so unique tasting. Presentation was good. The serving was normal, not a lot, not too little. The prices are ok although I think they should include the salad with peanut sauce with the meal - would make the 11-12 price better. Overall, I'll be back - great dining experience. read more

Excellent quality food, great atmosphere, great service. Seriously, this place needs to be on the other side of Capital (Wakefield). It kills me to see it empty on occasion. The level of detail the owner puts towards his food and service is admirable. I have tried the lunch specials (Pad Thai, Masaman Curry), dinner dishes (green curry, sushi), and everything comes out fresh. The lunch special is an outstanding meal (under $10)- You get the choice to start with a decadent coconut soup or thai-ginger salad. Get the soup! If you're not a fan of spicy food, don't worry.. Most of the dishes are prepared with minimal heat. Now, believe me, if you ask for extra heat, they keep some stuff on hand that most Southeast Asians wouldn't dare touch... read more

I can't give this a 5 yet because I haven't tried enough things on the menu. The coconut soup is the epitome of coconut soups, sooooo good. I like the fried rice, so different from Chinese take out fried rice and Korean fried rice. And they the BBQ chicken with the sauce is delicious (they give you half a chicken). Thai Cafe is wonderful! Sushi is very fresh-from 5-7 pm BOGO 1/2 price a great deal. Any dish we have had has been flavorful and authentic. The staff is very attentive and professional. Atmosphere can be relaxed and casual for date night or family night. Love it!! read more

After skipping this place for about a year (the kid, age 2, was just a bit too loud and we didn't want to disturb other diners), we are happy that we went back. The Panang curry is perfection, hubs like the sushi. Kids meal was good, but chicken fingers were smaller. I was hoping that they would get milk on the menu for the kid, and I will continue hoping as they haven't added it. There are a few new things on the menu that I'd like to try, but the pricing seems a bit steep for me to "try" something new and end up not liking it. Service was good. read more

We have been coming to this place for several years now and we have come to know some of the staff, but today will be our last time at this restaurant! Staff has been really good in the past but the manager is horrible as she does not have any empathy for customers especially loyal ones, and has zero people skills. We ordered lunch menus for takeout due to our dog being with us in the car but were refused to be given soup. I know this sounds like a simple thing but to us it is about the principle. The thing is, we were not asking for anything crazy because the lunch menus do come with the soup! The manager is adamant that it is only available for dine-in. It doesn't really make sense because we could have easily sat down and ordered our food, and after one bite, we could have decided to have the food to go. The manager just shrugged after this, said she will think about it, left the conversation and never came back and I was just confused and disappointed at how I was treated despite the many years of us patronizing the restaurant. Sadly, the restaurant has not been getting a lot of customers lately, and now they just lost loyal customers that could have helped them secure more income in the future because she would not want to cater to us at the expense of $2 worth of soup. Avoid this place, at all costs! I have had a truly harrowing experience which has clearly demonstrated to me how little customers mean to this restaurant owner. The quality of the food, ambiance etc., etc. cease to matter once the customer is meant to feel nothing more than a piece of trash. Let me explain. My friend ordered takeout from Thai Cafe for dinner (8 of us). He specifically mentioned that all of us were vegetarians and we didn't want any eggs or fish sauce the food ( a few of us are deeply religious) We picked up, took it home and, gulp... started eating. My cousin pulled out a piece of fried egg from his mouth while eating fried rice (photo attached) !!! He was absolutely gutted. When we called, the manager gave the phone to the chef who completely denied having used eggs. Stunning. In other words, we were either imagining eggs in our food, or lying. They refused to deliver new eggless fried rice because - "We won't deliver, you come with the fried rice, show us eggs and get refund." Incensed, hungry and incredulous, all of us rushed to the restaurant with the wretched rice. Disappointingly the place was empty, no diners. The chef then saw the eggs and declared that he would refund us the cost for the fried rice only!!! Ridiculous. We demanded a full refund and after several minutes of arguments, denial and stupidity, the owner (chef himself) finally relented and sarcastically said, very very slowly "I ,,,,am ,,,,SORRY". Worst restaurant ever, horrid business. Can someone advise if my cousin can sue this place? We have the photos and a movie recording. read more

I have always been a fan of Thai food and recently moved into the Wake Forest area so I was excited when I drove by last week and noticed a new Thai restaurant. I knew I would want to try it soon. Last night we ordered take out from Thai Cafe. My husband has never been a fan of Thai food, somehow curry terrifies him. Anyway, I convinced him to give it a try. We ordered the Drunken Noodle with Chicken and of course the Yellow Curry with chicken (staple item for me). When I called to place the order the gentleman on the other end said it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I arrived, I was greeted by the hostess and sent to the bar to get my takeout. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The staff was very pleasant and wished me well as I left. Our takeout smelled so good on the car ride home I could not wait to get home and dig in. My husband really liked the Drunken noodle. The flavor was excellent with a little bit of a kick. The chicken curry was excellent. Both dishes tasted very fresh with lots of flavor. We will definitely be going back. read more

The first few experiences that we had at this restaurant were great. Great food, great service, but over the last 3 month or so it has gone WAY downhill. In my last three times there I have not been served my food in under an hour. I went in yesterday to get some take out and stood waiting for someone to speak to me for 10 minutes before I finally gave up and left. The time before, it took 1.5 hours to get my main course and when it arrived, some of the chicken in the red curry was raw while about half of it was over cooked. We weren't the only people in the restaurant that weren't being served either - it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I have ever had, everyone in the restaurant was angry. The main problem that I can see is that there is not a clear manager - at least no one steps in to help when the newer staff has questions and the service suffers quite a bit due to the lack of leadership. After three very bad experiences it will be a long time before I try this place again - if I find a good Thai place, I will never be back. It's a shame - it used to be so good - now I'm trying to find someone that I don't like to take a groupon that I bought before it all went south. Never again. read more

2nd trip with high hopes but disappointed this time. hot saki was luke warm. hot soup was luke warm. waitress could not pronounce the menu items properly which caused confusion when ordering. scallops in the pricey seafood special dish were FAKE. now that's just tacky. read more
