We had a group of 6. We walked in without acknowledgement. After a few minutes, the waitress looked up from the bar area and asked us to sit anywhere. There were 4 other customers in the establishment when we entered. After a few minutes of browsing through their menu, we ordered. We waited about 15 minutes for our food and they were just trickling in. The pho bowls came out first. A few minutes later, the non-spicy green curry and fried rice came. About 10 more customers entered the establishment. While everyone was chowing down, I was waiting for my pad Thai noodles and my husband was waiting for his spicy green curry. Finally when the pad Thai noodles arrived, everyone else was already half done eating. From the time we ordered to when my husband's order of green curry came out, it had been 30 minutes. The people who came in after us got their food. We turned the order away. The noodles were way over cooked but as you can see from the picture, the chicken they put in the noodles were ground up chicken breast. I couldn't even taste it. I was expecting slices of meat. Don't even waste your time here. If I could post a negative rating, I would. This is the worst restaurant I've been to in years. The customer service is horrible. Our drinks weren't even refilled. No one checked on us. Their tables were sticky. Never again. read more

New owner, place is newly renovated. Food is a solid 8/10 but the wait times are usually 30mins to an hour or more long. I came here three times since the new owner opened because I had appointment here and I love asian food but the service is super slow however the staffs are kind. You do have to awhile for appetizers and refill on water though. So if you're hungry I don't recommend coming here unless you're okay with waiting that long. Last time I was here 11/26/23 the wait time for our three four dishes were over an hour long. The food is amazing here but helpfully they'll reconstruct their service time better. read more

My dad and I grabbed lunch here recently. The atmosphere is pretty basic, but it's fine. There were two servers working. One was quite good, the other was quite meh. I had the Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables. It was good. It was unusually saucy though for a Pad Thai. My dad enjoyed a peanut curry dish. I had to ask the waitress about a beer I'd ordered before it made its way to the table. Overall, this is a good Thai option in Sheboygan, if not an inspired one. read more

Service is really slow. it takes them 15-20mins just to make two medium bowl of pho... and they do not focus on one order and making sure that order is done or satisfied first before going on and taking another order. They take too much orders that sometimes they forget our order and we just sit here waiting for a long time for our food. then by the time we get our food, its hella cold or not even hot anymore. read more

First time and I loved my food but.... service was non existent. They didn't have clean utensils and had to clean our utensils. They didn't have ice for drinks and had to go get it at the store. My wife, who is a native born Thai, and I were visiting Sheboygan from Bangkok one day so we decided to try this restaurant. We looked at the menu and then my wife tried to order some items using her native Thai language. The waitress was not able to reply in the Thai language as she was not Thai. We were informed that this restaurant was owned by some ethnic Chinese people from Laos. So no problems with that as they specialized in Thai (Type) food. There are many Thai restaurants that are in name only. The food was palatable but in no way authentic Thai. So if you are looking for Thai type food, I would give it a try. read more

We stopped in based on the great reviews and were very pleased. This place is very popular. Lots of people came in while we were there. We both had vegetarian dishes and they're were excellent. We normally have chicken or beef not vegetable only but tried it this time and were very happy with both dishes. I had Thai basil and my wife had yellow curry. service for a group of 4 people took an hour to get food. we had to ask the server if our food was made or not. server just said she will go check. 15 min later our food arrive. we ordered their pad see ew, pho combination, fish with their sauce, duck over rice , and fried rice. Water was not serve unless asked and the Only refill we got was when we finally got our food. pho was NASTY! who knew how long the bowl was sitting there. the pho was like warm and the noodles were soggy ! the broth was salty to the point it couldn't be save with any condiments. pad see ew! let me tell you when the name says EW! it was awful ! the worse I've had where you couldn't taste the sauce but the saltiness only. all the flavor was saltiness. it's like they just added soy sauce to make the noodles look like it was mixed with some sauce and added more salt to it. if you want that extra sodium in your body to go up, order right away! their fish with that sauce was absolutely horrified ! the fish was literally fried to the bone ! you had no flesh on that fish to enjoy ! it was so fried that all we had was skin stuck to the bone ! fish looked plump but so fried there was no meat on it to enjoy. and the duck over rice ! ha! that was a total joke ! you literally get 5 pieces of duck over a bowl of rice and a bed of steamed veggies ! the duck meat had no flavor and even putting on the sauce they set on the side was horrified! no flavor! again salt only ! after The food was serve we realized that the fried rice hasnt came out. We asked the gentleman server again about it and he said he will go check. 15 min later the lady server came back saying that the dish was being made right now. We were already fed up with the service and had to cancel it as we were not going to wait another 30 min for a dish they forgot. When it was time for us to pay they didn't take off the fried rice. We had to tell them to take it off. And They double charge us for the pad see ew where the server has the audacity to stand her ground that we did order the combination and the beef pad see ew. We statesthat we had the combination but did not get the beef one alone and to remove it. The owner finally came out to resolve the issue. We will not be back as food was hideous and service was bad. With the amount we paid it was not worth it. We left still feeling hungry and not satisfied with anything they had. If this is your first time having "Thai " food, and think it's good reconsider and try other places with Thai food. You'd be surprised. read more

It was okay, not great. I ordered the pad Thai and thought it was pretty bland. Came with many more veggies (broccoli, carrot, green beans, mushroom) than the menu said it would, which I liked but some people might not. It was a big portion but just not super tasty. I get they have new owners, but they need major work on their customer service. Service is slow. Waitress is very forgetful. They took over 10 minutes before giving us our waters and approaching us, and another 5 minutes before taking our orders. Our order took at least 30-40 minutes to get to us. The waitress kept forgetting the drink I ordered and came to our table every time, saying "oh I'll bring your drink". It took her 4 times to come to our table to finally remember to bring my one drink. If you have all day to wait for food, sure, come here. Their Thai tea was terrible. Had way more half and half than the Thai tea itself. Food is ok, but not good enough for me to come back and waste 2 hours waiting for food. read more

For some reason since moving here last week I have been on a Thai kick, and lucky for me, Thai Cafe is only 4 blocks from our house. I admit the spring rolls were not that fresh, and lacked flavor, while being overloaded with noodles. Everything else we've had, however, has been absolutely wonderful. The Yum Neua salad - with beef, tomatoes, onion, and red pepper was spiced beautifully. It was truly a delight. I also had the Pad Khing Sod with chicken. I love fresh vegetables and mushrooms in an excellent, well-spiced sauce, and Thai Cafe delivered! This will probably be my go-to dish here. The yellow curry also does not disappoint, and it left us slurping up the curry sauce with spoons and rice:) My fiance enjoyed the peanut curry (for me it was too sweet but he loved it), as well as the Pad Thai. With great food so close, inexpensive wine by the glass, and truly friendly service, I know we will be visiting here often. On a side note, I was there when my mother called to tell me a great uncle had died. I went into the bathroom as I could not stop crying, and the lady who I believe runs the place came in and gave me a hug and tissues. Wow! They are so nice there:) read more

This will be the last time we go to this restaurant and we will not recommend anyone going. Pho VN was closed so we thought we give it a try again. First time was probably 6 years ago, we had a 2" caulk in our papaya salad. This time we ordered the cucumber salad with 1 pepper and they gave us the papaya salad. They came back with the cucumber salad, but it was very spicy. Brought it home to find out there were at least 4 peppers in it. read more

Place has gone downhill significantly. The food is still pretty good, I had lunch here, so it came with soup. The soup was slightly above room temperature. The red curry was awesome, however! Rice was over cooked, but I can get past that. It's the service that's awful. The two women working did not care about their jobs. There was my table of 2 and one other 4 top in the building at 1:30 on a Tuesday, and they both were more interested in taking shots with the other table. Our order was taken, dropped at the table, and we were ignored for the remainder of our visit. We ended up having to go up to the bar and ask for our check, and only in that moment did one of the women seem pleasant, otherwise their interactions with our table seemed disinterested and unenthusiastic. I wish the service was better, because the food is tasty, but I don't know if it's worth another trip. read more

Excellent lunch menu with a lot of variety. Green curry is my favorite. It has lots if vegetables. They also have a nice soup included with the lunch special. Service is quick enough to knock out lunch and get back to work...that might've good or bad depending on your perspective. Decor is a little strange, but overall it's a comfortable lunch venue. read more

The outside was average and the inside had some nice Thai decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's always nice to practice my Thai too. We ordered pad hee ma pan (cashew nut) w/chicken, pad prik king (ginger) w/beef, the salmon choo chee curry and goiteo (Thai noodle soup). The dishes were all very tasty. This is one of our favorite local go-to places for consistently good Thai cuisine. My favorites include the 'yellow curry', 'peanut curry loves', 'yum neua', and 'pho' (beef no tripe). For appetizers we usually get the chicken satay or the butterfly shrimp. As an added bonus, the drink prices are very reasonable. The staff is so friendly we actually ended up becoming friends with them (in real life) and it probably has something to do with the fact we have eaten here 94 times. - Yes I went back and checked all the credit card transactions. 94 times! Bonus tip, if you like extra spicy sauces, ask for Nee's special home made Thai chili sauce. read more

I would like to post a review about the "new Thai Cafe" which is on Calumet and Michigan. New owners and new remodel however bad food and service. The owner kept coming around checking on us. We sat for 2 hours total , waiting to order and receive our food. Many folks got up and left. Good thing we had great conversation going. Min the mean time, people would come in and sit behind us and be served within minutes. After asking where our order was , our 2 soup dishes, arrived 15 minutes of each other. One was warm, mine not so much. Mine was pho vn rare beef. No meatballs no tripe. It didn't arrive that way. at this time this gets 1 out of 5. Sad isby it :( . read more

I called to place ordered for pick -up Tomyum Shrimp , Beef salad , chicken satay , whole tilapia and Thai iced coffee , they said 30 mins so my husband went there and still have to wait 45 more mins until and they told him oh we don't have any fish left and still wait again for 15 mins until the order completed , he came home with Tom kha chicken instead of tom yum shrimp and Thai iced coffee instead of Thai iced tea!! And the food was horrible!! I'm from Thailand so I definitely know what is Thai food taste like! This is definitely not Thai food that cooked by Thai chef! No way! Not sure if the food would be better during dinner time, but we had lunch here and I wasn't too floored by the cuisine. I had the peanut curry loves, which is basically the more watered-down version of their peanut sauce -- lots of sugar and very thick. I had the vegetarian version which had both tofu and mixed vegetables. I wouldn't recommend the vegetables, as they were super soggy, and texturally speaking, made me feel a little weird. Tofu was very nicely fried, though, which was a big plus! We had some fresh rolls as a starter, which was my favorite thing, better than the peanut curry loves. Great Thai food in Sheboygan. Google mapped the place on my way to Green Bay. Ordered the fresh rolls for appetizer. They were well wrapped and the peanut sauce was delicious. Had the Massamun cury lunch special. Came with egg roll and soup. Massaman cury was delicious along with the soup and egg roll. Definitely will be back. When I think about how a business thrives, it is through 2 things: customer service, and caring for your employees. You need to be able to provide good service through your employees, but, first you must be able to recognize and reward your employees and provide them the coaching, teaching and mentoring they need to be able to execute with the best versions of themselves. Tonight, I experienced, from a customer's perception, from bird's eye view, how horrible an employee was treated. Let me start off by just saying that I am not exaggerating nor am I being sarcastic in any way at all, what I am about to share. We were at Thai Cafe, it was close to closing time, the restaurant was busy, and there were 2 waitresses trying to keep up with the tables. As I'm served my food I hear a young man yelling. I still don't know if he is the owner or someone who holds a higher position than the waitresses. He was yelling at a waitress for not wiping down a table. She attempted to tell him that she had already done that, but he cut her off and reiterated that he saw her remove the cups on the table but she had not wiped the table down. He proceeds to repeatedly tell her that he saw what he saw. He was yelling at the poor woman, wouldn't let her have a single chance at explaining and he was so loud you could hear him from anywhere in the restaurant. I turned to see what was going on, and all I could see was the embarrassment and humiliation in her face. Even through all of this she continued to do her job. This young man continues to nit pick at everything that she was doing, such as not pushing a chair in. Her coworker pushes the chair in and he yelled at her to watch how the coworker had pushed the chair in and done her job for her. There was a man sitting by the bar area, I am unsure if he was another customer or had any relation to the waitresses but he could be heard defending the women. The young man became extremely defensive and was saying that it was all about the customers and the business. Young man, I hope you see this review because not only did you belittle your employees or coworkers in public you may have lost some customers after tonight. Every customer counts because for every bad thing that happens in a business establishment, a customer will spread it to 10 others and you will be known for how you chose to handle the situation tonight. I did not have a part in this, and my spouse tells me that I should just leave it alone, but it tore me up from within. I have been in the customer service industry for my entire life and it killed me to see this happen tonight. I seriously have only ever seen this happen in movies, never would I have ever thought this type of behavior can be carried out in real life. To the waitresses who busted their asses off tonight, I commend you for continuing to work for this man after all of that. Thai Cafe once was a fun and inviting restaurant. The last couple times that I have been in there, it just has not been the same. May I also add that I have personally encountered a situation with this young man once before, and he had zero genuine bones in his body. He is ruthless and careless and does not care to lose business from customers. If you are the son of the lady who used to own the restaurant, I'm so sorry for her, because you are a horrible person, nothing like her. read more

If I could give a ZERO star, this would be it. First of, my family (3 total) were the only people in the restaurant during lunch hour. The service was slow and not so good. Once they got their food, they were rushed to eat fast and leave. And then was pressured into tipping. The waiter commented on why "OUR" people never tip. Racist much? And was upset venting about how those who were doing pick-up orders weren't tipping. Like how does this even make sense? This is so unprofessional and wrong! You get tip based on how your service is! Don't go demanding and putting people in awkward situations to tip. My poor husband ended up tipping $20 for a $40 meal that wasn't even worth it! Everything here was delicious. This place also has been in business for almost 20 years that I know of. Had the salmon, crab Rangoon, spring rolls and bananas. The spring rolls could have used more flavor, some cilantro and mint would have perked it up, but the rest was so flavorful and satisfying. Sister had the red curry and said it was hotter than she expected so be sure to let them know what level you can handle and they will accommodate. Also Thai iced tea was just right. I've been here twice, and both times have been a decently good experience. However, on my second time there with my girlfriend, I had a less than positive experience. My girlfriend ordered a stir fry dish with a spiciness rating of 6 (on a scale of 1 to 5, because she has a ridiculously high tolerance for spicy food); I ordered the pad thai with a spiciness rating of 3. When our food came, hers was surprisingly only slightly spicier than mine! Ladies, if you decide to come here, know that when you order you may be judged by a different standard than guys (apparently). Other than this one issue, our food was good.
