I have to say that Thai Cafe is by far the best Thai restaurant in the Antelope Valley. My husband and I come here almost every other week. Our favorite is the garlic pepper pork and the spicy seafood combination. The crispy rice soup that they give you to start off with is also delicious. We've never had a bad service here. We usually order the same thing that they pretty much know me now, whenever I would order on the phone, the girl would ask "is this Marie" and I'm like yeah, lol! I'm so happy Chipotle wasn't open yet down the street (bfs choice) because I've always wanted to try this place. Started off with egg rolls which were normal thai restaurant egg rolls, but they came out nice and crispy and piping hot! I ordered orange chicken because the Volcano was just too expensive to try on my first visit. My meal came with crispy rice soup and that was delish on its own. The orange chicken was CRISPY and the sauce was very light. My bf even said the rice was perfectly cooked! My bf ordered the pad se ewe and it was the most flavorful I've ever had. Came in for lunch today with the hubby ordered spring rolls, pad Thai, pad see ew, and cashew nut chicken. I was so disappointed especially after reading all the positive reviews and seeing all the AVP best awards. The rolls were small and not flavorful at all. The pad Thai was okay but not authentic. The pad see ew was awful and so salty.The noodles were overcooked and mushy.The cashew nut chicken was greasy and a few bites I could actually taste oil. I have been coming to this restaurant since 1989. The food is consistently delicious. I especially love their vegan dishes.

My fiance and daughter had gone several times before and we love their panang curry and alot of their food, but the past two times we have gone the service sucks ,the servers are so rude and they take forever. I took my mom last week and we were waiting for our food for almost and hour and then waited for our check another 30 minutes and at least 20 minutes to get our card back, the girls next too us had been waiting for their to go food for at least 45 minutes . I really enjoy the food here. The yellow chicken curry is like a spicy warm hug. The lunch specials are a great deal at about 7 dollars. They come with a rice soup to start, white or fried rice, crispy wonton strips and your entree. I also believe it comes with a tapioca but I declined this. My waitress was Pam and she was attentive, kind, and prompt when I visited on a weekday around 11:30. The only negative that I can say is that the location is a little cramped. It is located between Big Lots and Target right beside Dickey's BBQ so sometimes parking can be a little hard to come by also depending on when you go. read more

I recently moved from Rowland heights and was excited to try out a local Thai place hoping they can become our new go to spot. Me and my fiancé decide to order pick up because it was 30mins before closing. The service was okay and the food came out hot & stemming but we didn't expect the portion size we received. Usually when we order $57 worth it's enough for me my fiancé and our 2 year old son but our portion size was disappointing. I'm not sure if it had to do with the time we came but the orders we say people eating in did not look like the portion size we spent our money for. This is my families favorite Thai food in the AV. We love their crispy rice soup that comes with our meals. They have delicious food and we always get the same dishes. The staff is nice and friendly even when they are packed, you just have to be patient and not be in a rush, it's worth the wait. You get a good amount of food for your dollar. Best Thai food in the AV (I know, not sayin much, but still!). I've been several times and it's consistently good. The soups are the best!!! Yummy!!! I repeatedly got bad service from the same Asian man...after the third time, I flipped out in the restaurant and haven't been back since. I ordered a menu item (even pointed to it!) and got something totally different!!! He argued with me TELLING ME what I ordered...(I THINK NOT!) and they never brought me my food and I walked out after my lunch partner was already done with his lunch and paid our bill!!! Thanks for never feeding me!!! I believe the guy was one of the family or one of the owners...I "lost it" in the restaurant and made a HUGE scene because this was the THIRD time this has happened. I went for lunch (the time prior) and my lunch partner never received HIS FOOD! I finished and requested the bill and my lunch buddy had to go back to work and NEVER GOT HIS FOOD!!!! Then they tried to CHARGE US, saying that we ordered it and HAD TO PAY! I think that if you order lunch and it takes more than 55 minutes to cook it, (knowing you are on an HOUR lunch hour) they shouldn't quabble about trying to charge you! Plus they give you a coconut tapioca dessert at the end of your meal, which I love! Thai coffee and tea here are enjoyable as well. I love coming here to get the Yellow Curry Beef. The lunch special is $6.50 for this meal and it is delicious. Crispy rice soup arrives prior to your meal. I routinely go for the spice at a '3 scale' just because I am a lightweight. Coconut Tapioca comes at the end of your meal, ask for it to come warm. Nice size portions, whether it's lunch or dinner. I have been to this restaurant off and on for several years. It's one of the better Thai restaurants in town. However at a recent visit of mine I came across some exceptional customer service, and hence this review. As I walked in around 2.30 pm or so, on a weekday, the lunch was on -- and in full swing---- since Thai café has a crazy low priced lunch deal ( less than 7 bucks!). There were a lot of people waiting to be seated. I was one of them. I noticed that the manager there--- later on I found out his name is Bernie---- although under obvious stress, was super polite and kind to everyone-- those who were seated and ordering food and those like me who were waiting. I was amazed by his patience, politeness, and professionalism. He wasn't hassled by the crowd , on the contrary through exceedingly polite words he was serving and paying attention to all in the restaurant. In no time I was seated and I ordered the yellow curry chicken lunch combo. I thought with this crowd it would take a long time to receive my food , but guess what. In less than 2 minutes wait the complimentary soup was served. And in less than 12 minutes my food was served on the table! And it was hot, fresh and delicious. Not only that the manger Mr. Bernie walked to my table and said with an earnest smile " I am sorry brother if you had to wait" Needless to say I was totally bowled over by the remarkable experience. Service was great, food was amazing, considering what we ordered, for 2 women and a toddler it was a lot of food (but that's nothing to complain about) They didn't have ground beef at the time for what I ordered, but the server recommended ground chicken for the mint leaves dish and it came out delicious. The only major problem I had was that my friend and I shared a dish in which she wanted shrimp, we asked to separate the shrimp since I am allergic but when it came out they had it still on the same plate of the Pad Thai when we wanted it completely separate. Ate here for the first time tonight and it was an amazing experience. Food was on point! I'm from LA so i come from a city of many cultures. I miss good LA food especially good thai food. They yellow curry with Tofu is the best ever and the pad see ewe is the perfect blend of noodles, veggies and sauce. The Tofu Sate will make the biggest Tofu Haters into believers! The peanut sauce and cucumber/carrot garnish are a perfect complement to the tofu. The food is always fresh and full of flavor.........by far my favorite place in Lancaster.
