Ok I used to visit this restaurant very often and I had not been back in a couple months .. I always order take out and once in a while eat in the restaurant .. I ordered take out yesterday and the portion size was completely different for the first time in years ... I ordered fried rice, chowmein and tom yum soup .. they barely put any food in the trays , they put enough for a scarce thin layer of food in the container .. and the food was not as tasty as before .. it was ok .. and I placed my order at 12:30 and it took 45 min to get it .. which is too long in my experience for ordering out at any restaurant .. read more

From the second I walked in I had a good experience. Picked my own seat. Server Pam was excellent, very polite and gracious. Music was calm and appropriate. I ordered the veggie chicken with eggplant and it was just perfect. Spice level was appropriate for me. They started with a peanut dressing salad. Also had complimentary rice and tapioca pudding. Literally the best Thai place outside LA! I've been to a few places around Lancaster and Palmdale, and this beats them all not only in flavor but quality as well. They gave us all premium cuts of meat and chicken, not the left over meat they give you at other places. The flavor was authentic, but with a contemporary spin that I loved. Only negative would be the Seafood soup, which was overly sweet and too expensive given the lack of actual sea food aside from some shrimp and mostly fish. The orange chicken was great, not super breaded like you'd get at other restaurants, and the sauce didn't taste super artificial either. The yum yum chicken salad was great, again premium cuts of grilled chicken breast, but slightly salty. The spicy noodles were great, nice texture. Would definitely recommend! read more

I've eaten here several times and the food was always good, but today I recieved the worst food and service. Ordered the Pad Thai as always and received a plate that looks as though it was last nights leftovers heated in the microwave. Did not look like it was fresh made, maybe left over in the pan from another order. Also ordered a salad and it never came so I had to request it to go. After seeing how much salad dressing came with the order to go, I asked for extra and was told I had to pay for additional dressing. Been coming here the past year about once every month and the food is consistently fresh and flavorful! I've tried other thai iced teas around at other restaurants and the Thai Cafe is the best hands down. If they put that much detail into making their iced tea and rice soup (which is the appeziter to almost any meal) they really care about their service and food. Each time I come in I get a curry. Green and Musuaman are my favorite. Red mountain is even more amazing when you ask for 100 stars or Thai Spicy (It is not for the faint of heart, its extremely spicy). The beef steamed dumplings are made in house and are fresh. The service is always great, I have had to wait a few minutes longer when they are busy. I returned here a 2 year absence because a friend recommended the curry. I was not disappointed. The yellow curry was seasoned mildly and very good. The server was polite and quick. He brought full-size napkins when I asked for more. The desert, tapioca pudding with corn, was very tasty. I also got Thai iced coffee, a staple in Thai restaurants. Their green curry is a staple. They serve this bomb crispy rice soup prior to your meal, which includes unlimited rice. The Thai tea is okay; Boba isn't. It can some times take awhile to get your food, not dependent on the good service. read more

I think the food is delicious but the service makes it not worth it. I order to go on my lunch break and it is never ready. The last time the girl acknowledged takes my payment for the food ,but then continues to work on everything else. Then she asks someone else to help which that person says they can't and she still continues to do her other stuff 20 mins of standing around waiting and she finally gets around to getting my order! I decided to come to this place on my lunch hour I came in before a party of five who was standing in back of me and they were seated first and then I was seated immediately after them I waited almost 15 minutes before anybody came up to me telling me that I would have to wait that they have to take the order of the party of five first because they came in first I tried to explain to the grill no they did not I came in before them the girl just walked away from me nobody came and asked me for anything if I wanted to drink anything nobody came to take my order so I walked out.I then proceeded to contact them and explain to them that some people have an hour for lunch and a party of five was a family they have a little bit more time to sit around and enjoy their meal I also explained to them what happened that I came in before then but they were seated before me and that they I was told that their order was to be taken first it's only common sense that a party of five order is going to take longer than a party of one I explained this to the person who answered the phone I explained to them that I walked out on my lunch hour and I was out not being able to eat anything for lunch all I got was a little we're sorry nothing for their nothing more I think their service is ridiculous nobody comes up to you nobody asks you if you need anyting I will never return to this place ever again read more

Yellow curry was great as usual. They serve the Thai salad first. Husband had shrimp fried rice and just added a little chilly to it. It was great for him. Corsage have to have the jasmine tea and that hit the spot. I expected the service to be slow but considering the crowd we got our food fairly fast. read more

Used to really love this place but the last time I was there the food wasn't quite up to what I remembered. I love the red curry so I will go back and try it again - maybe they just had an off-day. I was turned off by the 1/4 inch layer of dust and grime on the fake plants - noticed it several times in a row over several months - hopefully they'll see this and clean it up - haven't been there in awhile so maybe it is cleaned up by now - I'll check next time I'm in. Makes one wonder how clean the rest of it is if the public view is gross. Kind of a small place so it's hard to take more than four people at a time - never know if there will be seating. Sometimes would be brought a small 'dessert' (tapioca with corn?) at the end of a meal and sometimes not - not sure why it's hit or miss with that -but if they bring it, it's good. I have visited this thai cafe in several occasions now and I leave completely satisfied each and every time. The food is always made to perfection! With thai places I tend to have the issue that its too salty and oily, but here it is seasoned well and they do not add a lot of oil if you tell them. I have tried the Pad See Eew, Dumplings, Thai Fresh Spring Rolls, and a couple other dishes. I usually come in a group and we order an abundant amount and share. They have a great tapioca dessert that is a must try! The Pad See Eew so far is my favorite! The servers are always very helpful when it comes to recommending new dishes. Last weekend my friends and I decided to order take out, I was really happy with the portion sizes for take out. And despite ordering quite a few dishes they said the order would be ready in 10 minutes! I was so happy it was fast and made right! We went there again last night and instead of the Larb, we got the yum nua salad. It was not yum. I won't say it was disgusting but it was definitely not up to par. Please skip that. On the other hand, we got the chicken satay and that was really good with a delicious peanut sauce. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurant when I come down from the bay. I come with all my boys and we are always welcome by all of the employees. The food is great, especially the Combination Seafood soup, Eight Angels, and Combination Seafood salad all thai spicy! My husband and I have been eating at this restaurant for at least a decade and it was our favorite Thai place until recently. A couple of months ago, we went there for dinner. The staff were unfamiliar and the food tasted different. It wasn't as good as usual, so we thought maybe they hired a new cook who needed time to become familiar with the menu. The service was decent, but also not as good as it used to be. We tried it again a couple months later, hoping for better food. The food was still not as great as it used to be plus the Thai tea was watery. Okay service. We went again tonight. The food and tea were better than our previous two experiences, but the service was awful. We didn't have any place settings at the table when we sat down, our order took forever to get to us, everything came out at different times, I had to go to the server station to ask for plates and place settings, then had to ask again when our food came... It wasn't like this a year ago! Bring back the Thai Cafe I know and love! read more

I have to say that Thai Cafe is by far the best Thai restaurant in the Antelope Valley. My husband and I come here almost every other week. Our favorite is the garlic pepper pork and the spicy seafood combination. The crispy rice soup that they give you to start off with is also delicious. We've never had a bad service here. We usually order the same thing that they pretty much know me now, whenever I would order on the phone, the girl would ask "is this Marie" and I'm like yeah, lol! I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place right now, I might just have to go there tonight! read more
