Very upset I called to place an order and they completely rude I spoke to Katie She put me on hold and then somebody with a heavy accent picked up the phone when I told her what I wanted she said it would be a 45 minute wait. Food is usually good and I always leave a happy customer, until yesterday! This horrid woman named Pam had the nerve to talk back to me when she was the one that got my order wrong! From the beginning she was rude and wouldn't listen to what my party was saying. I'm not the type of person to write comments like this, but this woman really ruined a nice dinner out with the family. It's not my fault she is about sixty and working as a waitress, don't take it out on the customers! I had a long day working an actual job and wanted to relax some, but thanks Pam! Yelped helped me find this place, it was nearby and had good reviews. First of I have to comment on how cute this place was, it had a lot of flower decorations and sparkling lights in the ceiling. Now to the food I ordered the Kung Pao chicken lunch special and a Thai coffee. The chicken was good but needed more flavor in my opinion. I saw the reviews on this place and just had to try it. I have now figured out that Thai food is different everywhere. I had wanted chicken satay but they don't have it as a meal just as an appetizer. I had #53 broccoli with beef. The sauce was watery and filled with grease. Food was great! Service how ever was not so great. We never got refills, we weren't allowed to substitute anything (even if we paid extra). I got charged extra for getting kids cups so that my 3 year olds wouldn't break their glass cups. The waitress made a big deal of me asking for a straw. My husband picked up a to go order tonight which included my spicy fried rice with chicken. When I started to eat I noticed what looked like water on the bottom of the styrofoam container but it was oil. My rice was so oily it made me sick to my stomach. I took 2 bites. When I called and spoke to the manager and explained the situation all I was told was that oil is used to keep the rice from burning and the kitchen may have used a little bit of extra oil. I was not offered a replacement of my meal or even a reimbursement to the cost. I have eaten at Thai Cafe over the last 10 years and never had anything happen like this nor have I been treated like this before by their staff. I think it's time to search out another Thai restaurant that holds its customers in high regard. read more

The food was FANTASTIC! I had heard from a trusted friend that this place had amazing Thai food. We checked it out for a late afternoon lunch. The restaurant had a large party of 9-10 people and maybe 2 other tables when we arrived. It was our first time here so we were unsure whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or if a staff member would direct us to our table. It felt like it took forever before someone waved us from across the restaurant to a table at the front. We waited and waited for our waitress to get our order and finally, someone else, (perhaps the owner???) Came and took our order. We had shrimp pad Thai and Pad See Ew along with crab ragoons for an appetizer. The food did not disappoint! Portions were HUGE and the taste of all the food was incredible! I used to come to restaurant quite often. I felt displeased, this happen twice since I been going recently. This time I got fed up. I know its a Thai restaurant and they have asian people working there. When I got there with my family, they had a waiting period. I asked how long was the wait. They told me 10mins. So we waited. I had never tried curry in my life before I tried their yellow chicken curry, and I have to say it's one of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had from ANY restaurant! Me & my whole family are hooked on this place. We always order the fried shrimp and veggie platter, and seriously of ALL the places in the Antelope Valley that offer fried shrimp, Thai Cafe HANDS DOWN has the BEST COOKED! Most places out here overcook theirs from my experience. Not to mention the dipping sauce it comes with is delicious. We always look forward to dinner here. Most Thai places charge you for rice and refills. If you've had curry, you know that the tiny scoop most places give just isn't enough. I have had every curry and their all filled with great flavor. The green curry is spicy! Second, their orange chicken is the best orange chicken I have ever had. Anytime food comes up in a conversation, I am raving about Thai Cafe and their orange chicken. It's crispy, and they drizzle it with orange sauce after cooking it so it stays crispy. Third, they give you crispy rice soup and tapioca pudding for free and it's delicious! This is my favorite spot to get Thai food at, my boyfriend loves their orange chicken and my favorite go to dish is their Yellow Curry with chicken. If you have a cold the yellow curry is a great dish to get as it's sweet but has that kick of spice you need to really make your nose run.
