I have been going to Thai Cafe for years. It is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the AV. Food 9/10 Atmosphere 7/10 love the upgrades. Cost $$$ Service Dine in 8/10 service call in 4/10 last order I called in they said 20 min and I came at the 20 min mark and waited another almost 30 min for my food. Overall 7/10. I still love the food. Service is good. I hate to say it BUT... the amount of food you get has gotten much smaller but the cost has gone way up. read more

I remember telling my friend that it's seems hard to mess up Thai food from what I've been experiencing lately and then I ate here:/ The place is cute. Dumplings were old possibly, two different colors and had a weird taste in the soup. Beef salad looked very sad. And tasted the same. Ordered pineapple shrimp fried the shrimp weren't clean 10/21/25 so today 12/21/25 I decided to give them another try the chick that answered the phone put the phone down and left me on hold for over 15 minutes when she finally picked up the phone I told her NO THANKS! This place is good, especially for the lunch special very very reasonable and they even have it on Saturdays. Some of the sauces are sweet so maybe ask before you order if you don't like sweet sauces. Service has been fast when we have come and it's a very old old cool building and the interior is very nice. My daughter got the Seafood Broiler and enjoyed every bite, she said the flavor was outstanding. My 16 mo grandson was the star of the restaurant. After a game of softball, we swung by Thai Cafe for dinner to celebrate our victory. I've been to this spot a handful of times, and they normally don't disappoint. This time, I had the Trip to Thailand, which comes with pad Thai noodles, Thai chicken BBQ, chicken red curry, and a side of white rice--delicious! The service was great, and the ambiance is usually quite calm, not noisy, which I appreciate. However, they charge $6 to swap the white rice for fried rice, which I think is a little high. Instead, I ordered a separate side of fried rice for $12 and got a larger portion. Unfortunately, the fried rice lacked flavor and missed the mark for me. On the bright side, they offered us tapioca pudding at the end of the meal, and it was the perfect treat for my sweet tooth. Overall, a solid experience. read more

I went here for the first time and have been hooked ever since! This spot is definitely my go to! I love the noodles with veggies and their house salad with peanut sauce. So good! I love the inside of their restaurant, I really like how there isn't harsh lighting. It's perfect! The service 70% good in person and 90% through the phone. This was the first place I tried Thai food and it was spectacular. You taste all the flavors and yet it's soft and subtle (unless you get the spicy stuff). The vibes are super cool and welcoming, plus each booth feels like it's own area because of how it's set up. The rice soup they give at the beginning was great, never heard of it before but I finished the whole thing in one go. The service was great, waitress always checked up on us and made conversation. Servers were pleasant and attentive even though they were busy. Ambiance is nice, very comfortable. Everything I've had here has always been real good, best crab Rangoon, tasted like crab, cooked fresh to order. It's nice to be able to order the "heat" we like. Great Thai food, fast service and a cozy little hideaway in Lancaster. My girlfriend and I both got egg rolls to share which never disappoint. We both also got the Panang Curry with mock chicken that gave off great flavors and enough spice to slow you down from completely downing the whole bowl in one sip. The complimentary sizzling rice soup was a nice surprise with perfect seasoning level, a hint of heat in the background and a nice flavor to stimulate one's palate -- when Mr. Picky commented that he was enjoying it, I nearly fell off my seat because he can be very picky. Next we headed to the Shrimp Spicy Noodle, low spice level, with extra garlic and onions (both white and green) ... really delicious!!! The noodles were so good that next time we decided we wouldn't even bother with the shrimp. A definite winner that we'll order in future. I love to see him really enjoying himself and being surprised by the food. I was tempted to order another dish of that instead of something else. I didn't see it on the menu, but asked if they had Crab Rangoon and was pleasantly surprised with the enthusiastic head nod. I ordered it just because for some reason Mr. Picky likes it and tonight he seemed to be in love with the, "Great sauce." I got a kick out of seeing him scarf it down and loved watching him clearly enjoying himself at dinner, confirmed by his saying he wanted to come back soon. For my part, I would have preferred to order stuffed chicken wings but the restaurant was out of them. We finished with their complementary tapioca. Our nice waiter Nevin had to leave, but we were in great hands with Cecile. Overall, a great experience. I don't know who was cooking tonight, but the food had heart and soul to it. read more

My family of three was VERY dissatisfied with the service here. We come in to eat and it was super packed. That itself was not the issue. What was the issue was we saw how packed it was and we placed an order to go. We were told it was going to be 30 minutes. It was over an hour and the family that came in after us WAS ALREADY SEATED AND HAD FOOD AT THEIR TABLE, and our order still was not ready. We went in and were not even given a wait time. This place is AWFUL, I'm sorry. The wait time is TERRIBLE. We ordered our drinks and appetizers, and after they had us waiting for 15-20 minutes just to order our meals. I thought maybe the kitchen was understaffed but the lady who was waiting us was just standing in the back doing nothing, just walking back and forth. The waiter was very rude and unprofessional. When we told her after 20 minutes of waiting that we were ready to order our food she took a big sigh. The food was also very mediocre and NOT worth it. First world problems. When we started going to Thai Cafe many years ago, I never wrote a review because the service was TERRIBLE! They were always out of egg rolls, you know the deal, they had them once, we fell in love with them and then they never had them again. When I say the service was bad, like one time my husband and I were sitting there saying, "Why do we come here? The service is always so bad." Then our food arrives, we take one bite and we're both, "Oh yea, this is why we come here. The food is frickin' delicious!" So then about a year ago we were there and the waitress was so good. She was nice, attentive, helpful. We looked at each other, "Oh crap! Does this mean the food will be awful?" It was not! The food is still wonderful and now the service is too. It's such a bonus. Now we can take friends and family there where as before we wouldn't because well, I don't need my mother in law complaining about the service so we'd go somewhere else. Not anymore! Great food!
