Been here once with my coworkers and we absolutely loved their food, so I decided to take my husband and daughter to try it. We were seated on one side while there were 2 other parties on the opposite tables. We tried the chicken biryani, crispy garlic chicken and crispy pork belly pad Thai, and all of the dishes were delicious; albeit the pork belly was really not crispy and seem to be just stir fried. To our surprise, my husband found a staple in the pad Thai dish that he ordered! We informed the lady working there, and she said that she will take care of it. She took it back and had a new one cooked with no other explanation. By the time we asked for the check, we appreciated that she took off the bill for that dish. Unfortunately, the service we had was very lack luster. The server rarely checked on our table while we saw her check upon the other 2 tables several times. We had to call and ask for her attention every time we needed anything even though the place was not packed and busy. It felt like we were bothering her the entire time we were there. As much as we enjoyed their food, I don't think we will be coming back and would warn other customers to check their dish before consuming it. read more

First time there today was a great experience. Super nice staff. Not only Woman Owned Small Business but Grandma Owned Small Business which gets my double support! The food was prepared very well and healthy with mainly steam and a Little stir fry at the end. Take out has sauces separated in another container for transport. We both had the swimming Rama and are always searching for the perfect peanut sauce and this was EXCELLENT! Very little oil, good texture and peanut flavor. We ordered white rice and were gifted some brown rice which was not your usual brown rice and theirs has a lot of flavor and is great and I will get it next time. The brown rice is kinda like a rice pilaf maybe with distinct grains and beautiful color! Portions were above average quantity and i will get two meals of it and hubby got one but was stuffed. We Washed it down with big Sapporo's Gold and Black and they were both excellent. It's a little drive for us but very worth it and we will be back. Complete package here at a high level of service and quality food. Oh the star heat rating is as expected. Likely after another visit and another dish will bump rating up to five stars but this was first visit. read more

OMG the shrimp chips!! If you order nothing else from this place, please order those. I literally ate a whole bag by myself, no shame. In all seriousness, the food here is really good. We have eaten here numerous times over the past year plus. The yellow curry has a kick but is always delicious, my husband always enjoys the Phad Thai, and recently I tried the Swimming Rama which gave me two delicious meals (the portions are large). I also love that they carry Scratch products for a delicious cocktail Super easy to order takeout and the dine in options look awesome although, full disclosure, we have not eaten in since the pandemic. My food was so spicy I couldn't eat it, even though I ordered it mild. I ordered a green curry with tofu and while I think it would have been delicious if it hadn't been so spicy, I was only able to choke down a small bowl with two glasses of milk. Not many restaurants can maintain excellent consistency. I have never been disappointed here: freshest ingredients, friendly staff, cool decor & yummy food. While enjoying our Meing Kam bites, we noticed that the table base was an old treadle sewing machine - I like the industrial/reuse style. Garlic green beans are usually on my plate - nice & crisp - never soggy. Maybe not the fanciest place in town, but definitely one of the best. First, the woman who greeted and served us was so wonderful - sweet, kind, and very efficient. And the food - it was great. We've been there twice now and will definitely be returning. The first visit I had Panang Curry and the second time I tried the Thai-Basil dish (w/chicken). Woohoo! Wohoo! Woohoo! Thai by Day is A GEM! I came here with a friend for little belated birthday celebration. But because my friend's mom passed away not long ago. It was more a get together and spending a good time. Very glad we chose Thai by Day. The food is Thai fusion with a modern twist. And every single dish we ordered was YUMMY TASTY GOOD and DELICATELY PRESENTED. Love the Gui Chai pan fried dumpling and the refreshing Somtum Poo-Nim papaya salad topped with soft crab tempura (note: soft crab tempura perfectly deep fried!) The Sea Salt Tea Cream Top is pretty amazing! The food deserves coming out of the way for. My friend loves the complementary house made shrimp chips so much she ordered huge buckets of it! I have to say that it's the best shrimp chips I have had in a long time. So perfectly cooked! The service is wonderfully ATTENTIVE and CARING! The owner is incredibly kind and humble. We had fun chatting with her. She has some Japanese roots in addition to Thai and she brings a bit of that to the cuisine here in such lovely creative manner. The decor is welcoming. My wife and I stopped by on Saturday night at 7:10 p.m. to try Thai by Day. There were several people sitting at tables dining. When we asked for a table for two we were informed quite abruptly that we could only order take out because they closed at 7:30 p.m. First who closes their doors at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and since when does a restaurant stop seating 20 minutes before closing. My recent discovery of downtown Edmonds has me driving down here rather more frequently than I have any reason to. Thai By Day came highly recommended by my foodie friend who loves Thai food. We were sat quickly and were given a single page laminated menu with all the usual suspects but with a bunch of hybrids such as unagi with fried rice, Katsu and red curry, black cod with Thai veggies etc... Each plate ranges from $13-$18, making your bill around $40 if you order just two dishes with no drinks and apps. The interior is cute- modern but rustic, a big industrial range serving as the hostess stand. Service was friendly but brisk. We ordered the pad kee mao as the flat noodles came highly recommended. We also ordered the red curry with wonton skin wrapped shrimps. Both were delicious but the red curry was a little thin. If you're in the area and you're feeling Asian food I recommend stopping in and ordering any dish with flat noodles. Another reason to visit downtown Edmonds! read more

They start off by giving you a plate of "snacks" but don't tell you what they are which to me seems slightly dangerous seeing as they are shrimp chips. The food came out quickly. This is already one of the better Thai options in the Seattle area for those of us who love Thai food but like to see more on the menu than phud thai. Sea salt cream topped thai iced tea is a must try--a creamy salty butterscotch-y play on the usual. Our server recommended the pork belly and agedashi tofu green curry and both were delicious. My Thai-American husband commented that we could bring his parents here when they're in town and if that isn't a solid sign of approval, I don't know what is. read more

I've visited three times so far. The food has been excellent each time, and service consistently top-notch and particularly friendly. They have the Thai classics on their menu, but also a number of unique (and equally tasty) dishes I've not seen elsewhere. The "Phad Prik Khing Moo Krob" (crispy pork belly) has been my favorite so far, and the sound it makes on the sizzling dish they serve it on makes it extra satisfying. Wow this place is great! Went for dinner and to meet up with a friend, decided to give it a shot. Usually when you see signs with "Grand Opening" there's some form of worry. I really hate writing a negative review, but our experience at Thai by Day last night was so dreadful as to deserve reviewing. The staff were very nice. That needs saying at the start, but it was downhill from there. The place: hard floor, walls, ceiling. It was pretty loud even though half full; I would hate to subject my ears to the noise level is the place was really full. The even moderately quiet restaurant seem to be a thing of the past. We had a shrimp tempura dish. Good sauce, but the tempura was soggy and doughy, and the shrimp recently unfrozen. Disgusting. There was then a chicken concoction on something else: dry, hard to chew. We left, our dinner unfinished, and went to the always-good Evviva Wood-Fired Pizza next door. To be fair, Thai by Day comped our dinner and drinks. But we will not be back. read more
