Rice bowl

Located in a strip mall with many open parking spaces. Indoor and outdoor seating and freshly made-to-order Thai food. The mango chicken was absolutely delicious with the fresh rice and the refreshing glass of Thai iced tea. It is located near the 40, right off Cools Blvd, and is easy to access. It offers quick, friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Be sure to give it a try.

Fried Tofu

I rarely leave a bad review but I don't think I can avoid it this time. Interior is nice and looks traditional ish. Menu has most anything you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. Service was decent, waiters were overall good. However, it will be a long time (if ever) before I visit again. I ordered fried tofu, pad kee mow with pork, and thai tea. Thai tea is basic enough, was decent. Tea flavor was a little diluted though. Fried tofu... wow. I can't remember the exact price but I remember being completely shocked that it was more than $5 after it came to me. There are 8 triangular pieces, fairly thinly cut, fried and... not seasoned. Like at all. It was so flavorless. I don't understand how they can even charge for this or put it on their menu. Then on to the pad kee mow. Lord. The first batch took over 20 minutes to come after my fried tofu. And the best part? I ordered it 8/10 spicy, and there was no spice. PLUS it was cool and the tomatoes were all cold. The redo came faster and the spice was appropriate but man, that first one really ruined it.

We were going to Flix Brewhouse next door and thought we would eat here first. We always said we need to try this place because we live Thai food. It was midafternoon and only a few other customers. We were waited on promptly. The Thai iced tea was good. The chicken satay with peanut sauce and a small cucumber salad was tasty. I got the pad Thai and asked for mild. Well, on a scale from one to 10 with the lower numbers mild, this was an 8. I think the chef dropped the whole spice pan into my dish. I basically ate the vegetables and left the noodles as they were so spicy hot, and opened up my sinuses. Ugh! My daughter liked the side egg noodles with veggies and chicken with crushed peanuts. I did not want to embarrass my daughter by sending this dish back. I should have. I left 9/10ths on the plate as inedible to my liking.

53. Pad Thai, takeout style!

I stopped by for some takeout. First the staff greeted me quite warmly and took my order. As it was being prepared, the decor is simple with art from Thailand. The food came out quickly and the staff thanked me for waiting. The patio is a nice place to sit for a lunch or dinner. Where I arrived at my friends house, the food was piping hot with fresh ingredients. It was well cooked and the spice was perfectly handled. The restaurant is tucked in beside the Flix, so it is truly a bit of a hidden gem. Look for it and you won't be disappointed.

I try to get here a couple of times a month for lunch. Delicious food and pleasant servers. You can choose your level of spice and the food is always very good. Very nice, quaint, little hole in the wall which I am delighted to have found.

Found my love of Thai food when we moved to the area 7 yrs ago. This small location is within 15 minutes of our house and right next to Flix. We were directed to seat ourselves and our drinks were brought out quickly. I love me some good thai tea and theirs is pretty good. Not too sweet or too tart. The pineapple curry with chicken is flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. So next time you're in the mood for some Thai and a movie, give them a try. You won't regret it.

Pad See Eew

Thai Boren is a place where my daughters and i enjoy eating. At the suggestion of my youngest daughter, I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something new, Pad See Eew. Ok, the name didn't wow me. But I looked beyond the title and read that this dish included big rice noodles pan friend with egg and broccoli. May i say, it was a hit? Yes, out of the park! The flavoring, mild spice and food quality will have me on the lookout for Pad See Eew on a future Thai Boren visit.

60. Thai Boat Noodle Soup
Keely C.

This is a to go order review. The order was ready quickly and everything was fresh. The food is fantastic, pad Thai is classic, red curry is rich and has plenty of protein and veggies. The crab Rangoon is the best I've had in Abq and the boneless hot wings are great! But don't sleep on the boat noodle soup, which is rich and delicious like an excellent pho.

We were able to be seated immediately upon arriving on a busy Friday night. A bit after being seated a few other patrons entered the establishment and had their orders taken for their drinks and appetizers. I looked over at the waiters like, "what about us?" Immediately the waitress said. "Oh I'm sorry, has anyone taken your order?" We said no and then were attended to with no further issues the rest of our experience. The food was very good, tasted authentic and flavors were outstanding. Loved the view of the mountains from the west side of town. We will visit again in the future.

40. Eggplant Curry with fried tofu
Christine C.

I was super tired and decided not to cook. So my husband ordered the spicy fried rice with beef and I ordered the eggplant curry with fried tofu. We shared the papaya salad which was our favorite part of the whole meal. Everything was amazing and the portion is enough for another meal. I can't wait to try some of the other dishes.

My wife and I stopped in on Saturday, January 14, 2023, for dinner. We needed some food before watching a movie at the nearby Flix Brewhouse. This restaurant is dwarfed by the Brewhouse, but lots of customers crowded the inside. This happened to be my second visit here within the past two months. On both visits I ordered the crab Rangoon appetizer for $9. You get six large, golden wontons perfectly fried and stuffed with crab and cream cheese. These practically melt in your mouth and the ratio of crab to cream cheese- spot on. Get this appetizer. I ordered the #67, eggplant thai style, thai hot, with pork and white rice. This dish cost me $14 and it was worth every penny. Eggplant wasn't mushy or too chewy. The chef really makes it hot when you order it thai hot. Loved it. I walked sweating to our nearby movie. They do refill the water when they see your mouth on fire. The service here is great, friendly staff and the chef cranks out dishes pretty quick. I will be visiting here many more times.

Went here from online reviews. They have a lot of traditional thai choices. The interior is…read morerather bland, maybe they could work on that. Tables are plain with nothing on them at all. So zero on ambiance. However, the staff was really nice and our food was excellent!!! Maybe use door dash because this area is really scary! We went at noon and it still wasn't great!

This was my first time back since the remodel…read more They updated the restaurant with more modern wall arts and moved the front counter. The walk arts are nice but it lost its charm. With the menu board, it feels like fast food less sit down style. Service has changed as well. Now, you place your order and PAY at the counter and seat yourself. You are asked to tip before you receive service. tipping is supposed to be base on quality of service. You do receive table service once your food is ready. The menu has changed as well. We loved the jerky and sticky rice, now gone! Fish cakes is new but it was too chewy and dry with little flavor. Shrimp cocktail and dumplings were good. This was the only Thai restaurant in town that served good Thai rice noodle soup similar to pho. Sadly it's no longer the case. It was bland! Traditional beef soup included meatballs, now gone. They also charge ridiculous prices for some add-ons such as crushed peanuts $2.00 per order!! Really, for 2 ppl we could have bought a whole jar. Service ended up being good especially since we were the only patrons. I low balled the tip at time of order and ended up giving additional tip in cash. Sadly to say, it's off our list of favorite restaurant in town. Probably will not go back.

Disappointing first experience…read more Why would you call a customer and not leave a voicemail? For a first experience with Tokyo Bangkok, this was incredibly disappointing. My husband picked up an order that I had placed online. About 30 minutes after he picked it up, I noticed I had a missed call from the restaurant. The only voicemail left was essentially, "It's like a robot." Yes--that's the call screening...but why not leave an actual voicemail explaining why you were calling? Since I was still at work, I asked my husband to call the restaurant. We then learned that the main item we had paid for was never included in our order. I appreciate that you offered a refund for the missing item, but my husband specifically asked if the missing food could simply be delivered since it was the restaurant's mistake, and that request was declined. That was particularly frustrating. If the restaurant realized an item had been left out, why not clearly communicate that when calling? And if we hadn't noticed the missed call or followed up, would we ever have been notified about the missing item? Mistakes happen, but it's how a business handles those mistakes that makes a lasting impression. Unfortunately, this was our first experience with Tokyo Bangkok, and instead of leaving us excited to order again, it left a very bitter taste. I hope this was an isolated incident, but better communication and customer service would have made a significant difference
